For the purpose of this study Flood is commonly defined as part of the natural water cycle or a
hydrological cycle caused by the unusual presence of water on land to a depth, affecting normal
activities (Alderman,et al., 2012). Food security is a situation that exists when all people, at all
times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food that meets
their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life security (Pirani, 2016).
A. To assess the immediate impact of floods on food availability in Nkhulambe Village
