A Detailed Lesson Plan

In Computer Literacy

I. Learning Objectives
At the end of an hour with the use of instructional materials, the
students are able to:
A. Define what is Evolution of ICT ;
B. Share the importance of ICT in our society;
C. Enumerate the four periods of ICT.

II. Subject Matter:

Evolution of ICT

A. Materials
Power Point
Books

III. Procedure

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preliminary Activity

“Good Morning Class..”

Good Morning Ma’am!

How are you this morning?

We’re ok ma’am.
That’s good to hear. Now I want you
to look around, who is absent
today?
No one ma’am.
Very good all of you are present.

So I have here a picture.

What is your observation in the

picture? It’s look like a box made by wood
ma’am.
What else?
It’s an abacus ma’am.
That’s right. Do you have any idea what
is abacus?
It’s a calculation tool used by
sliding counters along rods or
grooves, used to perform
mathematical functions.
Very Good. Later on we will know more
about abacus.

I have here another picture.

What did you see in the picture?

Computer ma’am.
A boy ma’am.
What did the boy do?
The boy use computer ma’am.
The boy searching something
ma’am.
That’s right. The boy in the picture use
the computer for programming
purposes.

Who can differentiate the two sample

picture?
The abacus is the old one while the
second picture is a computer that
we use nowadays.
That’s a brilliant idea. Abacus used
since ancient times the computer is
what we use today.

2. Explore

Base on the video and ideas that

Evolution of computer ma’am.
you have given, do you have any
idea what is our lesson for today?

That’s good. Our lesson for today is

all about “Evolution of ICT”

3. Explain

Who among you here have an idea

what is Evolution of ICT?
Evolution of ICT began with the rise
of humans.
Thank you for that idea. Now let me
discuss to you about Evolution of
ICT.
Mr. Sanchez can you read the definition
of Evolution of ICT?

Mr. Sanchez read the definition of

Thank you Mr. Sanchez for your Evolution of ICT and ICT.
cooperation.

Evolution of ICT it is the beginning of ICT

can be traced back when humans
started to use objects to communicate
and also it started with the use of the
desktop PC in 1996~, followed by e-
learning in 2003~using the Internet PC,
afterwar m-learning in 2005~using the
Notebook and PDA (Personal Digital
Assistant), with later upcoming u-
learning in 2010 using smartphones
and ICT stands for Information and
Communication Technologies. ICT
refers to technologies that provide
access to information through
telecommunications. It is similar to
Information Technology (IT), but
focuses primarily on communication
technologies.

Now their are four periods of ICT.

Out of the four periods, who have an

idea what does it means?

My idea about this four periods is it

have been greatly affect our lives
today ma’am.
Ok that’s good idea. Now lets proceed in
the first period.

revolutionary period in computing.
a. Integrated Circuit
b. Transistor
c. Electronic Numerical Period Integrator and Computer
d. Telegraph
