Step I : Casting a KP Natal Chart

I . . Birth Time Rectification

l. Unless the querent raises specific doubts in his or her birth time, it is not to correct the birth time
unnecessarily. Only because our predictions fail often, it is not reasonable to jump to the conclusion that the
birth time is wrong. This is not advisable to change the horoscopes frequently by changing Subs of certain houses
according to one's whims and fancies. (K.
Baskaran: Secrets of R.P. & The Birth Time, 1 999)
2. Reliability of so many BTR methods is not yet supported by sufficient evidence and birth time itself is
inconclusive whether to take the moment when the whole body of child has got separated from the womb of the
mother (KP Reader VI ) or the time of first breath or first cry (Astrosecrets Part l). In the RPs based BTR methods,
the changing RPs depending on time, place and astrologer and urge may not always be helpful to everybody. BTR
is therefore to be done carefully and responsibly.
I .2. Settings in Casting a KP Natal Chart
3. Cast a KP Natal chart using the following settings:
KP Ayanamsa (preferably KP New Ayanamsa of 2003),
2) Placidus house system,
3) Mean Node,
4) True positions of other planets,
5) 365 d/yVimshottari dasa,
6) Geographic latitude of place of birth,
7) Orb of 3.333 degrees is applicable, if a planet posited close to next cusp within this orb is to give the result
of the next house as found by experience of Guruji KSK and other astrologers.

4. There is not any significant difference between the KP Old and New Ayanamsas. The KP New Ayanamsa gives a
formula for calculating the ayanamsa value correct to seconds, and for any date in the year. The old KPA was
presumed to be constant for the full calender year. The Straight Line Ayanamsa is very close to Lahiri Ayanamsa
value, which is different around 5-6 minutes from KP Ayanamsa. Mostly used Placidus house and Vimshottari dasa
systems are two of three pillars of KP. 365 d/yVimshottari dasa has been used with success by almost all capable
astrologers of both KP and Vedic. True Node is true for only two days in a month. The angle, which determines the
Ascendant, is much more accurately given by Geographic latitude than by Geocentric latitude. (N Blunsdon in
RecentAdvances in Natal Astrology by Geoffrey Dean) The expectation of better accuracy by using Geocentric
latitude is not yet supported by sufficient evidence. Except in the border line cases, the commonly used
astrological SWs generally give the same planetary and cuspal star and sub lords, which are mainly based for KP
analysis.
Step 2: Obtaining KP Significators
5. Obtain the KP significators of grade A,B,C and D from the computer print out or by self observation. The grade
E signifcators by conjunction and aspect of grade A,B,C,D significators are weak and can be used as a last resort. In
the case of Node, besides its signification by occupation and its star lord's occupation and lordship of houses as
shown in the computer print out, the signification of the conjoined, aspecting and sign lord planets by occupation
and lordship of houses is also to be considered as relevant. From those planet wise significators, the house wise
significators can be easily derived.

Step 3. Judging Whether a Matter is Promised

6. Check the cuspal sub lord of the concerned house whether the matter under query is promised or not, for
marriage whether 7CSL signifies 2 or 7 or I I house, for foreign going whether 12CSL signifies any or more than
one of 3,9, 12 houses. (KP House Grouping: Part I to 5 in KPE-zine Oct 2007 to Feb 2008) It is here to consider the
signification at the CSL planet level, its star level and sub level by their occupation and lordship of houses. As

long as any of the required houses (2,7,1 1 for marriage) is signified even along with negative houses (l ,6, 10, 1 2
for marriage), a matter (marriage) is assumed to be promised. Only if the concerned (7th) cuspal sub lord is
connected to the totally negative houses ( l ,6, 1 0, 1 2) only, then the matter (marriage) is not promised.
Step 4: Selection of Fruitful Significators
7. Out of the significators mentioned in step 2, select the fruitful significators as follows:

l) Significtors which are common with the Ruling Planets,

2) Significators which are posited in the stars of the cuspal sub lords of required houses for a matter
under consideration, 2,7, I I for marriage,
3) Significators which are the cuspal sub lords of the required houses,
4) Significators of planets without having any planet in their stars, which are strongest to give the results of
the houses by being the sub lord to them. (Golden Rule: Take the planets which are posited in the sub of
the significators whose constellations are not tenanted),
5) Significators appearing many times amongst the Ruling Planets and significators.

8. Ruling Planets or other methods of selecting fruitful significators can to be used in fixing timing of event by
DBAS.
Step 5: Timing of Event
9. Only when an event is promised, to find the time of materialization of an event, select the conjoined period
(DBAS) of the selected fruitful significators when the transit agrees. Starting from the current running dasa
period, it is a step by step check of DBAS to get a conjoined period which allows the event at all dasa level and
then the transit check. The effect of Punarphoo and Saturn is also to be considered in fixing the timing of event.
In practice some events take place without signification of required houses at all dasa levels of DBAS. This is a
main reason of failure of our predictions.VVithout signification of required houses at the supreme Dasa level, the
event cannot materialize but it can happen without signification at Bhukti or Antra level, if the required houses
are signified at the Dasa level. Here an issue for research is how some events have taken place without
signification of required houses at the supreme Dasa level.
I O. One reason of marriage denial is that Dasa lords are unfavorable for marriage during the marriageable period
of the native although marriage is promised. Fulfillment of both promise and dasa is crucial.VVithout having birth
potential to have a high status (as per Ascendant strength mentioned by P.M. Shanmugham in Astrosecrets & KP
Part I and applied for Narendra Modi in KPE-zine Feb 2008), one cannot become a PM by mere running of a
favorable dasa period.
Step 6: Transit Check
I I .\Nhether the transit agrees with the selected DBAS is to be checked by looking at whether Sun, Mon
and/or the joint period rulers (DBAS lords) are transiting in the star or sub of the same joint period
rulers.
1 2. Further, to arrive at closer timing of an event, fine tuning of planetary transits is to be done as follows:
l ) If an event is likely to take place within a few hours, move the Ascendant to the sensitive zone of zodiac, i.e.,
sign lord, star lord and sub lord governed by each of the selected fruitful significators, for instance for running
conjoined period ofVen-Moo-Mer DBA, refer Venus sign, Moon star, Mercury sub or Moon sign, Mercury star,
Venus sub or Mercury sign, Moon star, Venus sub; or
2) If the event is expected to happen within some days, move the Moon to such a sensitive zone; or 3) If
it is to take place in some months, move the Sun; or
4) If it is to happen in some years, Jupiter should be moved to find out the time of event.
