Master of Library & Information Science course
SESSION: 2020 – 2021

 The Lists are provisional and are subject to:

i. fulfilling the eligibility criteria as notified earlier.
ii. verification of the equivalence of marks/degrees from other Boards/Councils to those
of the West Bengal council of Higher Secondary Education /Other equivalent
Board/Council, wherever applicable.
iii. correction in the merit position due to error, if any.

 All admissions are provisional.

 As per the order of Govt. of West Bengal [order no: 434-Edn(CS)/10M-95/14
dated 16/7/2020], all the original documenmts of applicants will be verified
when they report for classes at University campus. Provisional admission of a
candidate will stand cancelled if the documents are found not in conformity
with the declaration in the forms submitted on-line.
 If at the time of document verification, it is found by the university authority that
 a student does not satisfy the eligibility criteria, s/he will not be considered for
admission, even if he/she is provisionally selected for admission.
 a student does not have completed result at Graduation level, his/her
application shall be cancelled even if he/she is provisionally selected for
admission.

 Those candidates who have completed their last degree in 2019 or before but have
NOT taken admission in any full time day course, must submit an affidavit (on a
Non-Judicial Stamp Paper) that they are not registered in any other day course
anywhere/elsewhere, failing of which her/his admission will be cancelled.

 SC/ ST/ OBC A/ OBC B/ PD quota as per State Govt. rules.

 No separate intimation will be sent to individual candidates.

 If a candidate fails to submit the fees online on the specified date for admission, the
next candidate in order of merit will be considered for admission.

 Candidates will be required to bring the following documents at the time of

verification:

A) A print out of the on-line application.

B) 2 (two) recent passport size photographs.
C) All original marksheets, certificates including SC/ST/OBC A/OBC B/PD
certificates from competent authorities in the names of the candidates
themselves where applicable, are to be shown at the time of verification.

 D) The Madhyamik Admit Card/Certificate (for age verification).
E) attested copies of all marksheets, certificates, Madhyamik Admit
Card/Certificate (for age verification) are to be sumitted at the time of
verification.
(G)Parents/Guardian's income certificate issued by the employer with office seal
for the employed person and for others by competent authority.
(H)Proof of cancellation if already taken admission in any other full time day
course.

Note:

1. As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-

SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the
Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the states other
than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational
institutions in West Bengal, unless they can produce a domicile certificate of 10-year
residency in West Bengal issued by competent authority.

2. Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD
category under RPD Act, 2016.

3. The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC- A and OBC- B
categories must produce an OBC certificate (the date of issue of the certificate should
not be earlier than November 2019) issued by the competent authority that clearly
indicates (i) the category (A or B) they belong to; (ii) that they do not belong to creamy
layer of the society, at the time of counselling/ admission. [The list of competent

4. OBC-A and OBC-B candidates of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to
get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless they

 5. OBC-A and OBC-B candidates who could not upload updated category cerificates,
have to submit the same at the time of document verification, failing which her/his
provisional admission will be cancelled.

Admission against vacancy (IF ANY)

 Vacancies, if any, along with the names of the provisional waitlisted candidates will be
notified on the website on 07/01/2021 after 6.00 pm.

Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the university
shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the university to immediately
report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in university hostel or on
university campus.

If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be
given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would
expel him/her from the University.

 Details of on-line submission of anti-ragging affidavit shall be made available by the Head
of the Department, at the time of verification.

 Print out of the anti-ragging affidavit submitted on-line by the student and his/her parents
must be submitted to the Head of the Department within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of
verification.
