The Covid-19 emergency calls for maximum attention to hygiene. Panatta intends to support its customers with a
simple guide that specifies the necessary actions to always guarantee training in maximum safety and to preserve
correct functioning of the equipment.
The hygiene of gym equipment is subject to cleaning and disinfection activities, to which is added sanitisation which is
more strictly related to the rooms.
CLEANING
“Cleaning" means all those operations aimed at removing dust, dirt and foreign bodies from surfaces, objects and
environments. Cleaning doesn't kill viruses and bacteria but in most cases it removes them. Cleaning is a basic
operation to be carried out in any case on a regular basis and before disinfection.
• For cleaning it is advisable to use only water and neutral soap with a soft sponge or a damp cloth.
• It is essential to always follow the instructions on the label and on the safety data sheet of the product being
used.
• It is essential in this operation not to use abrasive sponges or any other device that generates friction during
cleaning to avoid irreversibly damaging the equipment.
DISINFECTION
The word "disinfection", instead, refers to the set of procedures useful to destroy or inactivate pathogenic
microorganisms.
• Before proceeding with disinfection, clean the equipment in the manner indicated above being sure to remove
any residue.
• To disinfect the equipment, it is advisable to use a product based on quaternary ammonium salts with a
maximum concentration of 1%, using a soft sponge or a cloth moistened with the ready to use product. Never
apply the product directly onto the surface to be treated, even when using spray products. Alternatively,
specific disposable disinfectant wipes based on the same substance indicated above can be used.
• It is essential to always follow the instructions on the label and on the safety data sheet of the product being
used.
• The use of bleach-based products (Sodium Hypochlorite), alcohol or other types of acids and solvents is not
recommended. This recommendation also applies to any sanitising treatments with a nebuliser.
• It is essential in this operation not to use abrasive sponges or any other device that generates friction during
cleaning.
