Newspapers are an important tool used to make us aware of


what is happening around the world; a news provider on hand.
News is everywhere. News writers make use of Journalistic
Writing. It is a style of writing that is used in news reports and
other articles like feature articles, opinion articles, and sports
articles. It is different from what you have learned in writing a
composition. This module will teach you to identify features of
journalistic writing. Activities and exercises await you as you go
through this module. Have fun in learning!

Upper Bonga Elementary School: DepEd Computerization


Program Batch 29 Recipient

May 20, 2016- Upper Bonga Elementary School received 1


Acer laptop, 1 Acer projector, 1 projector screen, and 1 set of
speakers from the Department of Education Computerization
Program.
It is one of the recipients of the Department of Education
Computerization Program (DCP) Batch 29. It aims that all public
schools be equipped with computers that can be used by the
learners during their ICT lessons.
DepEd Computerization Program Batch 29 is intended for K to 3
teachers and learners specifically for utilization on the conduct of
SLACS.
Upper Bonga Elementary School was also a recipient of DepEd
Computerization Program Batch 14 wherein 6 sets of computers,
1 projector set with touch screen, and 1 printer set were delivered.
“Thank you, DepEd Computerization Program. It is another big
opportunity for the learners”, said Mr. Andres B. Basabe,
Elementary School Principal 2 of the school.

What is journalism? Journalism is the act of writing
informative content for newspapers,
magazines, or different news websites.
It is not only about reporting news, it
is also about infusing facts with
personal opinions that are presented
to the readers in a convincing
manner.
What is a journalist?
A journalist is a person who works in journalism to report
news. He or she is involved in the presentation of what he or
she considers to be noteworthy and is committed to meeting
the standard of honesty in reporting.

What is a journalistic writing?

Journalistic writing is a style of writing that is used to


report news stories in a variety of media formats. It is used
for magazines, newspapers, television broadcast, and even
in radio.

strain

The Philippines’ already stretched healthcare system is under


more strain as the country reports its second-largest daily
increase in COVID-19 infections since the pandemic, providing
more evidence of how the virulent Delta variant may be
spreading.

Hundreds of hospitals in the country were again nearing full


capacity as of August 14 with some facilities reporting they had
run out of intensive care unit beds for COVID-19 patients, leaving
healthcare workers, who are forced to work longer hours,
exhausted.

extremely busy, we miss our meals, especially now that we are

who was confined at San Lazaro Hospital in Metro Manila. On
February 1, a posthumous test result from a 44-year
old Chinese man turned out positive for the virus, making the
Philippines the first country outside China to record a confirmed
death from the disease.

Gov’t eyeing COVID-19 vaccination for general population
by October

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine government is aiming to


open COVID-19 vaccination to the general population, including
vulnerable children with comorbidities, by October, vaccine czar
Carlito Galvez Jr. said Wednesday.

So far, the government has prioritized the vaccination of medical


frontliners, senior citizen, individuals with comorbidities,
economic frontliners and indigents, but ample vaccine supply is
expected by October to open the inoculation to the general
population by October, Galvez said.

“We are proposing that by October mag-general population na
