While the boys were doing some explaining, Nova and
Kaylee were walking through the woods. May worked
in a lab as a scientist, but her private lab was
completely solitary; it was built in the middle of the
woods. Nova had been exploring her surroundings,
looking excitedly at every moving thing she spotted.
N: Look! Up there! There’s something flying! (excited)
K: That’s a bird.
N: Birds are amazing! (excited)
K: Why do you get excited at everything you see?
(confused)
N: I don’t know. I’ve never seen anything like this in
my whole nineteen-hour life! (amazed)
K: *chuckles*, oh yeah. (amused)
Shortly after that, Nova spotted something fluffy and
white hop into the trees.
N: Kaylee, I’ll be right back.
Nova immediately dashes through the bushes.
K: Where are you- Hey! Nova! Come back here!
(annoyed)
Nova didn’t hear her protests and relentlessly rushed
after the bunny. Suddenly, she felt her body fall face-
first. She was rolling down a hill. Her head continued
banging on the floor, and she crashed into every single
bush and tree.
N: *make noises anyone would make will rolling down
a hill (screaming, shouting, groaning, any sound that
indicates fear and pain) *
Eventually, she felt herself rolling onto hard, even
ground. Her whole body was aching and bleeding from
the bumps and splinters.
N: *groaning*…
She slowly lifted her head; her vision was blurry, and
all she could make out was the road in an outdoor
parking lot.
N: *more groaning in pain*.
Not too far from her, there was a building. The building
was blazing orange, there were dark clouds coming out
of it and helicopters above it. Of course, Nova didn’t
recognize any of these objects as she didn’t know what
they were. She got up painstakingly and staggered
towards the building. Despite rolling down the hill, she
didn’t know what to do after that, therefore her
curiosity led her to the building.
The boys had just left Takeshi’s house. They were
heading to the studio, to stop it from burning. Takeshi
transformed into his suit. His feet began releasing fire
as he carefully floated up into the air.
T: Are you guys coming?
C: Y-you can fly?! (amazed)
T: Most of us can. Come on.
He blasts away, and they gawk at the sight of it. Jacob
does the same as Takeshi, but instead of flying up, he
goes right, head-first.
J: Woah- *screams* (frightened)
C: I have got to try that! (excited)
DR: I’ll just run.
Derrek zooms away, and Dylan opens a portal and
enters it.
C: Wait for me, you guys! (excited)
Clyde disappeared after them. Meanwhile, the studio
was on fire. Agitated people were scattered everywhere.
Smoke was consuming the air. Everyone was worried
about the people in the fire. Suddenly, there were five
strange things in the sky. They were like diamonds,
their armor sparkling in the sun. Everyone looked up at
them in awe.
The boys had landed behind the building, as they’d
created a bit of a scene with the people below them.
DR: That’s one way to make an entrance. (proud)
T: I was hoping we’d do this in secret. (annoyed)
J: Yeah, but that was the best thing I’ve done in my life.
(cheerful)
C: I agree.
D: Me too.
T: We should do it again some time, but for now, we
must focus on the mission. (determined)
DR: Alright. I think we should split up to save time, and
people, of course.
J: Good idea. Oh, and, remember to stay undercover.
(matter-of-factly)
C: We will.
D: Wait, guys, shouldn’t we give ourselves a name
first?
T: Induvial names, or a group name.
D: Both.
DR: Yes! You’re a genius! I’ll name myself… The
Flash! (excited)
J: Let’s make it original. I’ll be called Titanium.
(confident)
C: Cyber. Is that good? (hopeful)
T: Yes, it fits. I’ll go by Atomic.
DR: Claw! Yes, that’s perfect! It’s like I’m a mix of the
Flash and Wolverine. (proud)
D: I don’t know what to call myself. I open portals.
(confused)
J: Dr. Strange?
C: Professor Weird. To make it original.
D: No. I’m not a professor or a doctor.
T: Chaos.
DR: Sounds like a villain name. (confused)
T: He’s very evil-themed. Let’s just go with it.
(impatient)
D: Er- Ok. It’s pretty cool. (hesitant)
J: What about the group name?
DR: Avengers! (excited)
J: We said original. (annoyed)
C: I have a suggestion. Since we all look so futuristic,
we can be the Arcade Heroes! (excited)
Clyde expected ‘Oohs’ and ‘Amahs’, but they stared at
him blankly as if he suggested for them to walk off a
cliff.
C: What? You don’t like it? (confused) It’s not like you
guys have better ideas. (annoyed)
T: Fine. We’ll use it. Temporarily.
D: If we get a series about us, I just hope they change
the name. (annoyed)
DR: And they better make me the rich guy who has five
girlfriends.
J: Alright. It’s settled. Arcade Heroes, disperse!
(determined)
C: Eh- Takeshi, where are you-
T: I’m going there-
C: Yeah, but I was-
T: Oh ok, that way.
C: Yeah- oh wait, you said-
T: Just go that way! (annoyed)
C: Ok, chill. (annoyed)
They all went different directions, searching for people
who needed help. Jacob was walking along the sides of
the building, trying to find a way in. He found an
entrance; however, it was blocked by fire.
J: Dang it. This one’s covered. There’s got to be another
way in… (disappointed)
He looked at the wall, and it gave him an idea. He
punched it softly, and the whole wall crumbled.
J: Woah… (amazed)
Meanwhile, Derrek had already found a way in. He was
speeding through the building, avoiding fire, and
falling pieces from the sets.
DR: Sheesh, it’s hot in here… I must be lookin’ real
good today. (flirtatious)
He surveyed the area, searching for any people (or
women) to save. He spotted a man whose exit was
blocked by fire.
RP1: Help! Is anyone here?! Please! Somebody help
me! (terrified)
DR: Do not fear, Claw is here! I’m the hottest guy in
the group, trust me. (proud) I’ll save you if you answer
this question: do you have a cute sister who’s at least
20? (hopeful)
RP1: No! Now please help me! (terrified)
DR: Damn it. (disappointed)
He jumps over the fire and carries the man on his back.
DR: I’m gonna carry you, ok? No homo.
RP1: Just get me out of here! (terrified)
Derrek jumps over the fire and zooms off. He reaches
an exit and puts the man on safe grounds. A group of
people surround him and clap.
DR: Thank you, ladies, and gentlemen. (proud)
He bows, and winks at a little girl next to him, and she
gets all giddy.
Meanwhile, Takeshi and Jacob had already helped
multiple people. Takeshi walks through the fire to get to
Jacob, who was bearing a fire extinguisher.
J: How did you- (amazed)
T: There’s no time to ask. Where have you checked?
J: I saw a couple of people and helped them out. What
about you?
T: I saw a few as well. We should regroup with the
others.
D: Guys! I’m here! (tired)
J: Did you save anyone?
D: Yeah, but only one.
T: You go find the others. I’ll do a double check.
Jacob and Dylan walk away, and Takeshi continues
searching the building. Suddenly, he hears something,
or someone, making a loud clatter in a room. It was the
only room in the building that wasn’t on fire, and it was
even locked. He continued to hear the noises, and he
decided to enter. Using his karate skills, he kicked
down the door, and what he found was a guilty-looking
Violet. She had the pink gem, clutching it in her hand
delicately like an infant.
T: You! What are you doing here! (angry)
V: Is that all you know how to ask? (annoyed)
T: Why do you have that? (angry)
V: You know I had it! (annoyed)
T: You came all the way here to get it, didn’t you? I bet
that you caused all of this as a distraction! (angry)
V: I’m not going to waste my time on you! (irritated)
She pushes him and blasts off, crashing the ceiling.
Takeshi follows her, preparing himself for a duel.
T: What a coward! Don’t think you can run away from
your problems! (angry)
Violet tries to throw him off her track, but he continues
chasing her.
T: Fight me. I dare you. (angry)
V: You’re making a terrible decision, but fine. (firm)
They fight mid-air, creating explosions and electric
blasts. People from below watched it as if it was a fire
work show, Dylan spotted the two fighting, and he flew
up to get to them.
D: What the hell are you two doing!? (worried)
T: This imbecile was the one who started the fire!
(angry)
D: What?! (worried)
V: I didn’t! I swear! (angry)
T: Don’t think we’re stupid enough to believe your lies!
You put so many lives in danger; monsters like you
belong in prison! (angry)
As Violet raged, her eyes began glowing white, and she
attacked Takeshi. He was struggling to avoid her
blasts, but he was able to hit one more time. He threw
her into the building and waited for her to resurface.
However, she didn’t. Suddenly, the whole building
exploded. Takeshi watched the cloud of smoke float
upwards, knowing that she was gone for good.
T POV: I… Did I kill her? I didn’t blow up the
building… (shocked) *sighs*, I’ll just leave.
Meanwhile, Clyde was still inside the building. All this
time he hadn’t found a single person to rescue, and he
wanted to put in some effort. Derrek came to him to
help.
DR: Yo, Clyde. How many people did you save? I
rescued a bunch of cute girls. (boasting)
C: So far, none. (disappointed)
DR: That’s unlucky. (careless) I’m gonna find the
others.
When Derrek left the area, Clyde surveyed the area one
last time. Just as he was sure that no one was there, he
spotted a young woman with silver hair surrounded by
the fire. She seemed really calm, and she wasn’t calling
for help. She was curled up cozily with a bunny, as if
the flames were a campfire.
C POV: There’s one more! I gotta help them.
(determined)
He teleported to where the girl was. She seemed
stunned by his teleportation, and her eyes shined with
excitement. Once he could see her clearly, his heart
skipped a beat.
N: Woah… How did you do that? (amazed)
C: I…. I… Uh- it’s my powers. I’ll g-get you out of
here, just… h-hold on to me. (nervous)
He grabs her arm hesitantly, worried to make her
uncomfortable. She didn’t bother it, but the bunny was
squirming frantically in her arms. He closed his eyes,
and they were teleported outside of the building.
N: *gasps*, We’re outside! Did you do that? (amazed)
C: Yeah, uh- are you hurt? Do you need anything?
(nervous)
N: No, I’m ok. Thank you so much. The fire was fine,
but you’re a hero! (excited)
She pulled him in for a hug, and he blushed from head
to toe.
N: By the way, what’s your name?
C: Cyber. It’s my superhero name. I gotta keep my
identity a secret.
N: That’s okay. I’m Nova.
C POV: Should I ask for her number? I’ve got to.
(hesitant)
C: Uh, can I-
N: Oh. My phone’s ringing. Sorry. (embarrassed)
Nova picks it up, and a very worried voice was on the
other line.
N: I know! But it was in there, I had to get it! Ok, ok,
I’m sorry! Bye. (worried)
She puts the phone back in her pocket and faces Clyde
again.
N: Sorry. My friend was mad I chased after her bunny.
It went into the building, and I ran in to get it. I didn’t
know the fire was that bad. (embarrassed)
C: You shouldn’t run into a fire. Remember that.
(matter-of-factly)
N: Well, I must go now. Bye! (cheerful)
C: Bye. (cheerful)
Clyde watched her leave the area and he walked back
to his friends.
C POV: I wish I could meet that girl again… But the
odds are low, especially in this big city.
His thoughts are interrupted when Takeshi talks to him.
T: Met a sweetheart, haven’t you? (mocking)
C: Oh, shut up. (annoyed)
J: Guys, have any of you seen Dylan? (worried)
DR: Where did he go this time? (worried)
Clyde’s phone starts ringing.
C: Gimme a second. My sister’s calling.
He picks up the phone.
C: Hello?
K: Clyde! You won’t believe what just happened!
(scared)
C: Yeah, I know! There’s a fire and a bunch of
superheroes at the studio. (worried)
K: How did you know? (confused)
C: Well, uh…. (acting suspicious)
K: I guess it is all over the news…
C: It is? (confused)
K: What do you expect? News companies always take
advantage of things like this.
C: Oh, uh- ok. I’ll see you later. (surprised)
Clyde closes the phone, still shocked by the fact that he
and his friends are on the news.
C: Guys! We gotta check the news channel! Now!
(rushed)
DR: Why? (confused)
C: Just do it! (annoyed)
J: Ok, I’ll open it on my phone.
They all crowd around Jacob as he opens a news
website. He plays the video on it, and they watch
attentively.
NR1: Breaking news! Just recently, there was a huge
fire at Brett Studios. Many people were trapped in the
fire, and the firetruck was stuck in a traffic jam.
Luckily, five strange figures with shining armor came
to the rescue. They helped people make their way out of
the fire safely. Survivors from the fire who were
rescued by the heroes have been interviewed. George
Smith is on the scene.
NR2: Thank you Ruby. We are now in the streets of LA
downtown, about to interview some survivors. The fire
department and the ambulances have already arrived.
Hello sir, can you give us some information on how you
got out?
Interview 1:
RP1: Well, I was stuck in the fire, and I found it hard to
breathe from all the smoke. (worried) I could’ve been
killed or injured, but luckily a man came to my rescue.
(relieved) He was wearing a white, orange, and blue
metal suit; it was so spotless that it reflected the fire. He
ran so fast; all I saw was a flash when he carried me out
of the building. It was as if he had superpowers!
(amazed)
Interview with the director from the studio:
EB: I- I still don’t understand how the studio just blazed
so suddenly… What shocked me the most was that
there were these… superheroes. Real superheroes. One
of them was walking through the fire, and he saved me!
(shocked)
NR2: These survivors have given us quite unbelievable
news. Now, back to Ruby Jackson.
NR1: Thank you George. Police have been scanning the
area, and it is most suspected that the fire was caused by
an actress that works in the studio, Violet Angelo. She
was seen transforming into the same suits that the
rescuers were wearing, and she was being chased by
another armored man. Some people filmed live footage
of it, and they were sending explosions through the air.
We do not know whether he defeated her or not, but for
now, the identities of the heroes under armor remain a
mystery.
Jacob turns of the phone. There is a silence, no one
says a word.
T: Goodness me… (shocked)
Derrek pumps his fists in the air, celebrating.
DR: We’re famous! (excited)
C: I know right! (excited)
J: They’re calling us superheroes! (excited)
T: No… That’s it… (worried)
Takeshi plops himself onto the floor, lowers his head,
and runs his hands through his messy hair.
T: Everyone knows… It’s guaranteed we’re going to be
the most wanted people on Earth, by criminals! They’ll
be searching for us; to steal the gems, and maybe even
kill us! (worried, firm)
All of them stand there and have a moment of
realization.
C: Well… you said we have superpowers, so no matter
what weapons they use, they’re no match for us!
(confident)
T: I know, but we’re not the only ones with powers.
Don’t forget about Violet… And that demon; they’re
still after me. (worried)
DR: If they’re after you, they’re after us, too. We’re in
this together, and so far, nothing bad happened to us.
We’re still alive, aren’t we? (reassuring)
They were interrupted by the portal appearing behind
them. Dylan walked out of it, and he smelled like
smoke.
D: *panting noises*… Hey guys… (tired)
At the same time:
J: Dylan! (relieved)
C: Dylan! (excited)
DR: Dylan? (confused)
T: Dylan? (confused)
J: Where were you? (worried)
D: There were a few more people in the fire. I saved
them right before the explosion. (exhausted)
C: I don’t know if this is good news or bad news,
because we are on the news. (shocked)
DR: To make matters worse, we have a new villain on
our trail. (concerned)
D: What? Who? (confused, worried)
T: Violet. Didn’t you see what she did to me back
there? She’s the cause of the whole fire! She’s using
that gem in ways she’s not supposed to! (irritated)
D: I’m pretty sure this is a misunderstanding. There
isn’t any proof. (firm)
T: You don’t believe me? (firm)
D: I do, it just doesn’t make sense. If she wants us dead,
she would’ve found ways to kill us a long time ago.
Second, judging by her reputation, I doubt she’d be
some crazy villain. (annoyed)
T: *sighs*… Never mind. (annoyed) It’s been a long
day. We should go home and get some rest.
C: Yeah… (relieved)
They all go back to their homes, relieved that things
couldn’t possibly get wilder.
It was nearly midnight when Clyde reached home. His
legs were so tired and weak, he felt like collapsing any
second. He rings the doorbell of his house, and his
sister opens.
C: Kaylee! (worried)
He hugs her, and she looks at him like he swallowed a
baby.
K: Uh- What’s wrong? (disgusted)
C: Is it a crime to hug you? (disappointed)
K: Yeah, it is! You’re pranking me! I know you put
something on my back! (annoyed)
C: You were in a damn fire! Are you even in your right
mind!? (worried, angry)
K: I was on my way home with a friend! I wasn’t in the
fire. (angry)
C: I was just worried about you. (embarrassed)
K: Whatever… (annoyed)
Clyde walks into the house and freezes the moment he
does.
K: So, Clyde, this is Nova. My friend. She’s gonna stay
here for a while.
N: Hi. (cheerful)
Nova keeps smiling at him. Clyde still doesn’t know
what to say.
C: *tries to speak* (shocked)
K: You ok? (confused)
C: I- Uh, y-yeah. I gotta go… *loses voice* (nervous,
shocked)
Clyde goes up to his room, almost falling over the
stairs as Nova watches his clumsy escape.
N: *giggles* He’s weird. In a cute way. (cheerful)
Kaylee looks at her like she said something offensive.
K: Excuse me? He’s anything but cute. (annoyed)
Clyde bursts into his room and shuts the door.
C: *panting noises*
C POV: How. How is she here?! How crazy can this
day get?! (shocked)
He lies down on the bed and decides to sleep. Just as he
was drifting off, he hears the door open.
C: Leave me alone Kaylee… (annoyed)
N: It’s me, Nova.
Clyde gets up so quickly that he falls off the bed.
C: Woaaahh- *falls* Ahh! *In pain*
N: Oh no! Are you ok?! (worried)
C: Nah- I’m fine… (acting ok)
He gets up and sits on the bed. Nova sits next to him.
N: You sound familiar. Have we met before?
(confused)
Clyde wonders for a moment, scrambling for an
answer.
C: No. I don’t think so.
N: But you sound just like that guy who rescued me
today. (hopeful)
C: Oh. That’s cool. (acting surprised)
N: He was a superhero, and his name was Cyber. He
teleports, too! It was the most amazing thing I’d ever
seen. (excited)
C: Did you think he was that cool? (hopeful)
N: Mhm. (cheerful)
C: Oh… Hehe, yeah. Anyway, I’ll just… (nervous)
He walks backwards to the door, facing Nova, and
smiles awkwardly as he leaves. He rushes down to the
living room; his sister was eating leftover pizza.
C: Kaylee! (angry)
K: What? (annoyed)
C: That’s my pizza, idiot. What made you invite a
random girl to my house? (annoyed)
K: It’s my house; I pay the rent. And she’s not a girl,
she’s a… Yeah, she’s a girl. (annoyed)
Clyde raises an eyebrow at her, his suspicions getting
higher.
C: What is she then? Your boyfriend in disguise? Oh, I
forgot, you’re gay. (annoyed) Wait, she’s your
girlfriend? (worried)
K: No, she’s my new friend. The thing is… I…. met her
in the road. She’s homeless. (lying)
C: You always ignore homeless people. Stop lying!
(annoyed)
K: Ok, fine. She’s…. May’s cousin. And she’s actually
homeless. She’s been living in May’s lab for the past
few months. May begged me to take her away, so I
brought her here.
C: Ok. B-but I have a few questions. (nervous)
K: Hurry it up then. (annoyed)
C: Is she single? (embarrassed)
Kaylee smirks deviously, instantly knowing what he had
in mind.
K: Yes. Her name’s Nova Zkar, she’s 22. She likes
pizza and video games, just like you. You have a 70%
chance with her. Good luck. (scornful)
C: I asked you one question! (annoyed) But thanks.
(sheepish)
K: She’s sleeping here, so you might wanna… You
know, take your shot. (sly)
C: Shut up. I didn’t mean it that way. (annoyed)
K: *laughs*, yeah, sure. (sly)
Clyde goes to his room again, and he spots Nova
sleeping on his bed, snoring softly. He sits next to her,
and reconsiders “taking his shot”.
C: *yawns*
C POV: Where should I sleep? I can’t sleep with her.
Yet. (concerned)
The couch was occupied by Kaylee, and Clyde wouldn’t
dare to sleep in her bed. He came back to his room,
knowing he had no choice but to sleep next to Nova (he
was secretly hoping for that to happen).
C: Here goes nothing… (nervous)
He gently pushes Nova to the other side of the bed and
lies next to her.
C POV: Don’t touch her. Don’t touch her. Please don’t
touch her. (nervous)
Unfortunately (or luckily), Nova turned over and rested
her head on his chest. Clyde held his breath, praying
she wouldn’t wake up. After a few seconds, he relaxed
again, and hesitantly put his arms on her. He fell asleep
as Kaylee snapped a picture of them and sent it to his
mom.
The next day…
Clyde slowly opened his eyelashes, recalling what had
happened the other day. Nova was still cuddling him,
and it made him want to stay in bed longer. He
stretched out his hand carefully and grabbed his phone
and snapped a selfie with her. It made a sound, and
Nova woke up.
C: *gasps quietly*, uh- h-hey, I can explain… (nervous)
N: *yawns*, what happened? (drowsy)
C: I promise I didn’t do anything. I had nowhere to
sleep, so I had to sleep next to you. We just woke up
like this. (nervous, guilty)
N: No, it’s fine. Kaylee woke me up and asked me If I
was ok with it.
C: She did? (annoyed)
N: Yeah. Why’d you take a selfie? (confused)
C: Is it fine? (hopeful)
N: I don’t mind.
C: Would you mind if I sent it to my friends? (nervous)
N: That’s weird, but it’s alright.
Clyde sent the picture to the group chat, and Takeshi
was the first to reply.
Texts:
C: lol
T: Unholy
D: wtf
J: i pity the girl
DR: noice
He puts his phone away as Nova stands up and
stretches. Clyde’s stomach was growling, so he and
Nova went downstairs. They were met with a smell of
burnt pancakes.
C: *sniffs*, what’s that smell? (confused)
N: It’s like something’s burning. (concerned)
K: Guys! Help! The oven’s on fire! (terrified)
Clyde rushed towards the basement and came out with
a fire extinguisher. He sprayed at the oven and the fire
stopped.
N: *clapping*, good job! (cheerful)
K: *sighs in relief*…
C: I think that’s enough fire for one day. (annoyed)
Clyde’s phone began ringing and he picked it up.
C: Hello?
A: Yo, Clyde. Wanna come over for breakfast? I’m
guessing you don’t have a personal chef.
C: Yeah, I’m starving. I’ll be there in a minute.
A: K, bye.
He hangs up, and Clyde turns back to Kaylee.
C: Gotta run. I’m gonna have breakfast with Alan.
(offhand)
N: Who’s Alan?
C: You can come. If you’d like.
N: That would be fun. (excited)
C: Then its settled. Let’s go.
Violet was lying in a bed. She had just awoken, and she
felt lightheaded. Her limbs were throbbing, and she
was covered in bandages. She tried lifting her head to
look around, but she couldn’t. Instead, she reached for
the lamp and flicked the switch. Just doing that made
her feel exhausted, and she fell onto the pillow again.
Her body was in a different position now, so she was
able to look around. She was in a normal bedroom;
there was a dresser, a carpet, a few articles of clothing
lying on the floor and a large canvas with paintings
under it. For some reason, all those paintings seemed
so familiar to her. Suddenly, she heard a creaking
noise, and the door of the room slowly opened. A
shadow appeared over her, and her confused face
turned into a frightened one.
Clyde and Nova had been walking to Alan’s place. His
house was only a few blocks away, but it was also part
of an elaborate neighborhood. It was huge and modern;
there was a blooming garden with a marble fountain in
the middle, and the garden was surrounded by a gate.
N: This place is fancy… (amazed)
C: Yeah, yeah, it’s just a house. (careless)
N: It seems you’ve been here a lot.
C: I’ve been his friend since elementary school. We
always used to visit each other and play video games.
We didn’t go to school together though; he was tutored
at home.
They were met with a security guard at the entrance.
SG: Hello again, sir.
C: Yep, it’s me, Clyde.
SG: Who’s this?
C: A friend of mine, her name’s Nova Zkar.
The guard clicked a button next to the door.
SG: Sir, Mr. Myers has come to visit, and he’s brought
someone with him.
A: I’ll be down.
The door opened right after he said that. Alan was a
tall guy, his orange hair tied in a small ponytail. He
had a strange, futuristic style of clothing, and he was
staring at them with calm, grey eyes.
C: Hey, Alan! How you been?
A: Cool, you?
C: Crazy. Trust me. (amused)
A: *chuckles*, the usual. (amused) Hello there, what’s
your name? (friendly)
N: I’m Nova Zkar. (cheerful)
A: Pleased to meet you. (friendly)
C: Can she come in? (hopeful)
A: Of course. (cheerful)
They follow him into the gaming room. It was big and
dim, and the walls were colorful. There were LED
lights all over the walls, and the room was filled with
TVs, consoles, PCs, and bean bags on the floor.
N: *gasps*… This is the coolest room I’ve ever seen!
(excited)
A: I can tell you’ve never been in a gaming room
before. (amused)
C: She’s new to a lot of things. (amused)
They sat down on bean bags and grabbed consoles. A
maid came in and served them sodas.
A: So, what’ve you been up to?
C: Not much. Just saving people from a fire. (proud)
A: Nice. (amused) Wait, you’re serious? (shocked)
C: Yeah. Remember those guys on the news? That was
me. (excited)
Alan stares at him with dull eyes saying “Yeah, right”.
A: Liar. (annoyed)
C: I’ll prove it. (annoyed)
Clyde stood up and transformed. Alan’s eyes grew
wide, and he gawked at him.
C: See, I told you I was- (proud) Oh shit! What am I
doing?! (worried)
Clyde transformed back.
C: You saw nothing! I wasn’t supposed to tell you! I’m
such an idiot! (worried)
A: Hey, It’s alright. I won’t tell a soul. (reassuring)
C: Ugh… I’m so bad at keeping secrets… (annoyed)
A: So, you’re a superhero? (amazed)
C: Yeah… (annoyed)
A: Am I the only one who knows about you?
C: There’s five more; the rest of the superheroes and the
bad guy.
A: I see. Who are they? (curious)
C: I’ve already revealed too much. (nervous)
A: Ok, fine. Let’s just pretend that didn’t happen to
prevent anymore questions.
C: Thanks for understanding. (relieved)
A: You’re welcome.
They continued clicking and clacking their consoles as
a plan began to brew in Alan’s mind…
Two hooded figures were running between the murky
alleys. One of them was Violet, the other was
anonymous. Both were in a rush; their mission was
clearly a secret.
V: Wait, *panting noises for a few seconds*…How far
until we get there? (tired, worried)
He didn’t respond.
V: Are you going to talk to me or not? (annoyed)
He shook his head.
V: *sighs* I’ll take that as a no. (annoyed)
They continued running until they reached an isolated
place beneath a bridge. It was so eerie and silent; you
could hear a pin drop.
V: Is this it? (hushed, frightened)
He nodded.
V: Ok... Thanks. (anxious)
She put out her hand for him to shake it, but instead, he
grabbed it and pulled her in for a hug. Violet hesitated,
but she hugged him back. After they finished, he stroked
her hand and whispered something to her.
HF: Be careful. *whispering*
V: I will.
They let go, and he watched her walking away. When
she was out of sight, he dashed away, suddenly being
apprehensive. He knew he was being watched. He
zigzagged through the alleys as if there was an invisible
beast chasing him. Suddenly, there was a sharp noise.
He looked behind him and saw a bullet on the floor.
She was there. After, he ran non-stop, and another
bullet was shot. He came to a dead end, and to his
horror, his rival was standing there.
DE: Hey there, old friend… (malicious)
Her voice sent shivers down his spine. It was a matter
of seconds before she’d kill him.
DE: I see you’ve let her go… (malicious) I told you
she’s mine to kill… (furious)
He prayed they’d show up, but they didn’t. The woman
aimed her gun at him.
DE: I guess we’ll have to do this the hard way.
(careless, firm)
She shot at him, but he dodged it.
DE: I see… You wanna fight, huh? This just gets better
and better. (excited, malicious)
She blasted more bullets, but he sprinted away and
avoided them all. He heard her footsteps behind him
but didn’t dare to look back. The chase continued until
he reached a dead end. The woman followed him there,
but he was nowhere to be seen. She was motionless for
a moment, listening attentively. Suddenly, she shot at
the trash bin he was hiding in. There was a yelp, and
then it went quiet again. She slowly approached the bin
and yanked the top off. He was gone.
DE: Wait… How did he… *muttering* (shocked)
J: Excuse me ma’am! (angry)
She jumps at the voice, and spins around immediately.
There was a tall, muscular man in a metal suit. He was
wearing a helmet, but she could tell he wasn’t happy.
J: I heard some gun- (firm) Wait, Desiree?! (shocked)
DE: How do you know my name?! (angry)
J: I- the police told me. (lying, trying to be firm)
Desiree pointed her gun at him.
DE: Listen, I don’t waste my time on little boys dressed
up as robot-superheroes or whatever. Head back to the
shitty box you live in, or I’ll kill all your teddies. (firm,
annoyed)
J: I heard the bullets; you were chasing some guy in a
hoodie. Hand over the guns, because you’re coming
with me. (firm, angry)
DE: *laughs maliciously*, I’m not your dog, dumbass.
(firm, annoyed)
She aims the gun at him again.
DE: Any last words? (malicious)
J: I wouldn’t do that if I were you.
She ignores him and shoots, but to her surprise, the
bullet bounces off him and nearly hits her. She blasts
multiple bullets at him, and they all dart off him.
Desiree realizes her mistake and one of the bullets hits
her leg.
DE: *screams in pain*
She collapses on to the floor, clutching her leg. He lifts
her up from her neck with one hand.
J: They don’t call me Titanium for nothing. (firm)
DE: You son of a- (furious)
Suddenly, there was an explosion behind Jacob.
Takeshi walked out of the fire.
T: Everything under control?
J: Yep. What about the hoodie guy?
T: He let her go. (worried)
J: Who? (confused)
T: Violet. (suspicious)
J: Did you catch him?
T: He disappeared... somehow. (confused)
DE: He did that to me too. (annoyed) But I shot him
before he did.
J: Shut up. No one asked. (firm)
T: Wait. Do you know who he is? (hopeful)
DE: No. But I do know Violet.
T: Tell us more.
DE: Under one condition. (devious)
J: Oh no… (worried)
T: What’s the condition?
DE: You let me go.
J: No way. That’s against the law. (firm)
DE: What a goody two shoes. No info for you.
(annoyed)
T: We’ll figure it out ourselves. (firm)
Takeshi hand cuffed her, and they took her away.
DE: Do they have a salon in jail? (hopeful)
J: They do, but they make you bald. (mocking)
DE: Seriously? Ugh… (furious)
Derrek was walking back from the grocery store. His
day was very casual compared to the one before, and
he didn’t like it. He decided to take a shortcut to his
building by crossing through the alleyways.
DR POV: I’ll take the shortcut.
He entered the alley and reminded himself to avoid eye
contact with any of the hooded creeps who sold pills.
DR POV: Don’t make eye contact. Keep your head
down. (anxious)
He continued walking with his head lowered, but when
he reached the end of the alley, he spotted a hooded
guy with a mask. He was sitting on the floor, holding
his shoulder like he had a wound. Derrek approached
him to get a closer look. It was a bullet shot.
DR: You better get that checked with a doctor.
(concerned)
The guy looked up at him, and suddenly became
startled. He stood up quickly and ran off.
DR: Hey! Come back! I won’t call the police or
something! (annoyed)
Derrek was confused by his sudden decision to run
away. He heard footsteps behind him and looked
around. Shouting wasn’t the best thing to do in the
alley, as he had drawn the attention of the drug dealers.
DD1: Hey, what’s a guy like you doing here? (sly)
DR: I was just heading home. Now bye.
The other drug dealer grabbed his arm before he left.
DD2: Any cash?
DR: No. Leave me alone. (firm)
Unfortunately, they were very clingy, and the man had
an iron grip. They threw him onto the floor and
searched his jacket.
DR: Argh! Hey! Give that back! (furious)
The guy pulled out thirty dollars and looked at them
admiringly.
DD1: You lied, huh? (amused)
DD2: You know what happens to kids who lie, right?
(malicious)
DR: You’re making a bad choice! Let me go! (furious)
DD1: Look at this… (amazed)
He takes Derrek’s gem and hold it up so the other drug
dealer could see it.
DD2: It’s huge! (amazed)
DR: Give it back! Now! (furious)
Suddenly, the drug dealer holding the gem fell to the
ground. The hooded man had punched him. He kicked
the other one as well, but they got up swiftly. They
pushed the hooded man on to the floor, but Derrek hit
them both. He slammed them on the wall of the alley
and hit them again and again, until they collapsed.
DR: *panting noises*…
The hooded man stood up shakily, still holding his
shoulder, and handed him the gem.
DR: Thanks. I owe you one. (exhausted, relieved)
The guy nodded, and he left as quick as he came. As he
left, Derrek’s phone began ringing. He answered, and
Takeshi was on the other line.
DR: Hello?
T: Derrek, I need you to be at my house as soon as
possible. We need to inform you about what happened.
(firm)
DR: Sure.
He hangs up and continues making his way home.
