1. Introduction
This paper was evaluated by reviewer on research work which entitled as “the Impact of Job
Satisfaction on the Turnover Intent of Executive Level Central Office Administrators in Texas
Public School Districts”. The main point in study was to examine the relationship between job
satisfaction and turnover intent of executive level central office administrators in Texas public
school districts
2. Summary
The paper determines impact of Job Satisfaction on the Turnover Intent of Executive Level
Central Office Administrators in Texas Public School Districts. It was conducted by Johnny
O’Connor and published by Education science journal in 8 May, 2018. The paper papered to
evaluate relationship between the job satisfaction and turnover intent of executive level central
office administrators in Texas public school districts.
Reviewer clearly identified that scholar evaluate impact of Job Satisfaction on the turnover and
understood that it was someway high at executive level of central office administrators in Texas
public school districts and but reviewer seen that what was going to be conducted in introduction
part but, the way objective of study explained and hypothesis was briefly stated in the paper.
Researcher used quantitative research design and examines the relationship between job
satisfaction and turnover intent of executive level central office. In addition to this he has
selected random sampling techniques to collect data from respondents; data for this study was
collected between duration of 2016-2017 from 234 respondents through questionnaires.
Researcher evaluated different theories and literature and supports his study with theory of job
satisfaction. Collected data from quantitative data through survey and analyzed collected data by
using SPSS was analyzed and interpreted. Pearson Moment Correlation and Linear Regression
analytical tools for clear determination of impacts of job satisfaction on turnover were employed
for data interpretation.

3. Literature review
To my understanding researcher explained theory and different researches under literature
review. More importantly theory explained, finding evaluated and methodology compared
throughout reading much literature under this part is highly significant to know how this research
was conducted in scientific way. Actually, reader can understand what was done and what was
not done including what will be done in future. Under this part reviewer understand that scholar
explained different theory and empirical study to support his study from different perspective.
4. Methodology
Under methodology part, scholar put clear and concise methods. Research design, sampling
techniques and method of data collection was explained. Rather from the paper reviewer
understand that quantitative research design was used to determine the impacts of Job
satisfaction on turnover at district level. Actually, methods and methodology of research was
clearly explained by writer in the paper.
5. Results
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover
intent of executive level central office administrators in Texas public school districts. Based on
the selected research design, this study was quantitative. The results of this study highlight the
significant influence job satisfaction has on the turnover intent of executive level central office
administrators in Texas school districts. Specifically, a moderate negative relationship was
observed between the two work constructs. Job satisfaction explained 41.3% of an executive
central office administrator’s intent to turnover. The findings of this study are consistent with
prior research, which has documented this relationship throughout the literature of research
studies. Despite this, few studies have examined these work constructs in the context of
executive level central office administrators.
Research completed to date has been dedicated to professionals external to education with most
education-related studies focused on job satisfaction or turnover of teachers, principals, and
school superintendents. This study extends the limited research base in this area and offers
2
implications as it relates to the decreasing superintendent pipeline as well as the recruitment,
retention, and increased work productivity of this employee group.
6. Conclusion
The paper concludes that workers who feel undervalued and dissatisfied decrease the overall
productivity and effectiveness of an organization and in contrast, superintendents who are
satisfied believe in their ability to impact the positive outcomes of all stakeholders. As well as
the researcher conclude that findings of this study should be of importance to public agencies
where retaining quality workers can be problematic and employers in school districts should
focus on developing and improving both extrinsic and intrinsic work-related factors, which
will increase job satisfaction, and as a by-product reduce an employee’s intent to leave an
organization. Study concludes that increased job satisfaction of executive level central office
administrators can yield long tenure. Yet, many of these employees will have the intent to
turnover if dissatisfaction manifests for extended periods. Generally speaking researcher has
concluded the paper based on the finding of the research.
7. Recommendation
Based on recommendation formulated by researcher, everything is recommended well and
clear idea of the paper is more explained. But to me it is good if researcher again will conduct
study generally and some modification will be happened on methodology and research design,
8. Critique on the paper
Based on the paper starting from title to recommendation, reviewer has seen that paper is well
presented and discussed. The way the paper organized and presented the methods and techniques
used, and the way conclusion as well as recommendation derived was very clear. Really I would
like to appreciate researcher for his academic contribution throughout publishing the paper which
I was understand a lot of information from.
One of the difficult things I didn’t seen in the paper is research gap `and since there is no brief
explanation of core idea or research gap, study didn’t show as research question as well as
central idea of paper did not explained well.
Researcher contributed a lot of information to the field and determined impacts of job
satisfaction on some selected job category. Rather than doubting with the quality of the paper to
3
the point of reviewer it well if we focus on quality of journal. Journal is education and science,
my doubt is that why the paper is not published on business and economics journals.
Strength of the paper
The paper was well explained and discussed
Familiar to the field
Methods and materials of research was briefly
Finding and conclusion was well stated
Weakness of the paper
Research design used not appropriate
Researcher collected only by quantitative data
Sampling design was not well explained
Descriptive statics was not clearly explained
Finding was not much more clear
