Statement of Purpose

Statement of Purpose
Name: Fariha Sattar
Chosen Programme of Study: MSc Healthcare Leadership
Section 1: Personal Information and Background

Introduction:
My name is Fariha Sattar D/O Abdul Sattar and I belong to a family that values education. I was born on July
18, 1993, in Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan.

Educational Background:
In 2009, I successfully completed my SSC, scoring 788 out of 1050. Then, in 2011, I accomplished my HSSC with
a score of 766 out of 1100. Subsequently, I enrolled in the University of Agriculture Faisalabad to pursue a
Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. Graduating in 2015, I attained a CGPA of 2.74 out of 4.00.

After completing my studies, I began my career as a Medical Microbiologist at the esteemed National Hospital
in Faisalabad, Pakistan, from 2015 to 2018. This experience was invaluable, allowing me to gain extensive
knowledge in medical microbiology and contribute to patient care and diagnostics. From 2018 to 2021, I
worked at Chughtai Lab as a Pharma Assistant, where I focused on improving my professional skills and delving
into various aspects of pharmaceutical operations, enhancing my understanding of the industry. Following
that, I served as a Medical Superintendent at the Government General Hospital Faisalabad from May 2021 to
August 2023, under the Prime Minister Youth Training Scheme. In this role, I managed healthcare services and
mentored aspiring healthcare professionals.
Now, driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, I am pursuing an MSc Healthcare Leadership to
make a more significant contribution to advancing healthcare practices and positively impacting the industry.
I eagerly look forward to embracing new challenges and opportunities in this journey. Currently, I am actively
seeking job opportunities that allow me to leverage my organizational strengths and excellent interpersonal
skills, aiming to positively impact healthcare services and create more efficient environments. My experience
in an English-speaking environment has also honed my communication skills, which I consider a valuable asset
for any role I take on.

Apart from my studies, I have a strong passion for cooking, and experimenting with diverse recipes brings me
immense joy. I am also fascinated by exploring different cultures and connecting with people from various
backgrounds, as it enriches my understanding of their customs and values. In my leisure time, I find great
pleasure in reading and writing, with a particular interest in management, leadership, and healthcare topics.
This not only motivates me but also helps me excel in my professional responsibilities, especially when it comes
to healthcare research papers and articles. Engaging in meaningful activities and making a positive impact is
truly fulfilling for me. Therefore, my ultimate goal is to enhance my leadership knowledge. Pursuing an MSc in
Healthcare Leadership at BPP University in the United Kingdom offers an ideal opportunity for gaining valuable
international exposure and expertise in this field.
Section 2: BPP and Your Chosen Programme of Study

My motivation to pursue an MSc in Healthcare Leadership comes from personal experiences and insights
gained through listening to others and reading research journals on healthcare leadership. While working at
Government General Hospital Faisalabad and the Asian Council of Science Editors in Faisalabad, Pakistan, I
reflected on my career growth and realized that an MSc in Healthcare Leadership would be the perfect fit. This
program's innovative and flexible approach offers a comprehensive understanding of international healthcare
systems and imparts essential skills for success in a dynamic and fulfilling environment. Completing this degree
will provide me with practical experience and a deep understanding of the global healthcare landscape,
enabling me to bridge the gap between theory and practice while building a strong professional network.

After finishing my undergraduate studies, the next important step was to find the perfect institution for my
postgraduate education. As I explored prestigious universities in Pakistan, I noticed that my options were
somewhat limited. The educational system seemed to emphasize theoretical knowledge rather than practical
application. Understanding the importance of globalization and its impact on professional growth, I yearned
for a vibrant environment that could offer abundant resources to enhance my expertise with modern skills.
This led me on a quest to research renowned universities beyond the borders of Pakistan.

Choosing to pursue my studies in the United Kingdom was a well-considered decision based on several
compelling factors. While the United States of America boasts renowned healthcare institutions, I was
particularly drawn to the UK for various reasons. Notably, British healthcare systems hold a strong reputation
among Pakistani scholars and leaders, which influenced my choice. Furthermore, the UK ranks as the second
most popular study destination globally, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), and its
multicultural environment and global reputation added to its appeal. With 16% of the world's top universities
located in the UK, as identified by the QS World University Rankings 2022, I was confident that the UK would
be the ideal study destination for me.

During my research, I explored various UK universities like the University of Bedfordshire, University College
London, and BPP University. University College London offered intriguing modules on leadership and
management in global healthcare, strategic healthcare leadership, and collaborative leadership in integrated
health and care systems. The University of Bedfordshire's modules on strategic management and leadership
of organizational mental health and well-being also caught my attention.
However, it was BPP University's module on Evidence-Based and Evidence-Informed Leadership Practice that
truly stood out. This module's focus on practical and effective leadership based on evidence aligns perfectly
with my postgraduate education goals.

After careful consideration, I chose BPP University for my studies. One of the main reasons is the diverse
faculty of experts from different countries, including guest lecturers, doctors, and practitioners, who teach
healthcare leadership courses. This provides a well-rounded perspective from around the world. BPP
University has a strong reputation for developing professional skills and delivering high-quality education, as
evidenced by its high employment rate for international students after graduation. With over 30 years of
experience as one of the leading healthcare schools in the UK, BPP has trained numerous healthcare leaders
from over 150 organizations and actively collaborates with influential healthcare systems. What truly sets BPP
University apart from other institutions is that its course modules closely align with my specific interests.
Section 3: Your Future Career

Upon successfully completing the MSc Healthcare Leadership program at BPP University, my plan is to return
to Pakistan and pursue a leadership career. This program will equip me with essential skills to understand and
navigate healthcare systems in different countries, enabling me to effectively lead healthcare organizations.
Immersing myself in this experience will broaden my perspective and knowledge through education and
exposure to international practices.

In conclusion, obtaining a degree from BPP University will open numerous academic opportunities for me. My
goal is to significantly contribute to Pakistan's healthcare sector by implementing international healthcare
principles and enhancing services. I kindly request your consideration in helping me fulfill my aspirations, as
there is a high demand for individuals with UK degrees in Pakistan's healthcare sector. Initially, I anticipate a
monthly salary ranging between 1500 and 2000 pounds, with the potential for substantial increases after
gaining one year of experience. Pursuing an MSc Healthcare Leadership at BPP University not only represents
a wise financial investment but also serves as a valuable asset, enabling me to assume leadership positions in
esteemed healthcare systems and hospitals in Pakistan.

Completing the MSc Healthcare Leadership program at BPP University will significantly impact my future
prospects and enable me to make meaningful contributions to Pakistan's healthcare service sector. I am
thrilled about this opportunity and sincerely hope to be admitted to this course.

Fariha Sattar
