COFFEE SEEDLINGS DISTRIBUTION GUIDELINES/CRETERIA

Total number of Coffee Seedlings raised jointly with Coffee Cooperative societies- 268,014 and
as per the MOU, the sharing formula is 50: 50. Coffee Cooperative societies involved in raising
coffee seedlings will take 50% of the seedlings and will be free to either distribute to their
members or sell to cover the cost of operation. The remaining 50% (134,007 coffee seedlings)
will be collected by the County government and distribute to farmers in all the sub counties as
per the following guidelines:

 Farmer beneficiary include a member of cooperative society or individual farmer with


less than 200 coffee bushes.
 Vulnerable farmer without coffee bushes may be considered as special case eg PWDs
 Each identified farmer beneficiary to receive 100 coffee seedlings giving a total of 1,340
farmer beneficiaries.
 Actual distribution will be based on level of preparedness by the farmer beneficiary
 Farmer beneficiaries to collect coffee seedlings from the nearest distribution centre
 Date of distribution to commence on 15th May 2024 (to allow for 1 week identification of
farmers and 1week land preparation)
 Coffee Seedlings Distribution as per Subcounty is as follows:
(a) Mosop 25%, (31,000 coffee seedlings)- 310 farmers
(b) Tinderet 20%, (24,800 coffee seedlings)- 248 farmers
(c) Aldai 15%, (18,600 coffee seedlings)- 186 farmers
(d) Nandi Hills 15% (18,600 coffee seedlings)- 186 farmers
(e) Emgwen 12% (14,880 coffee seedlings)- 149 farmers
(f) Chesumei 13% (16,120 coffee seedlings)- 161 farmers

 SCAO and Subcounty Cooperative Officer to identify beneficiaries, monitor land


preparation, planting and compile progress report.
