CHAPTER 1
The Problem and its Background
Introduction
In an era of rapidly expanding technology, the demand for efficient, precise, and time-
saving solutions evolves. Such advances are especially important in the field of financial handling
and management. Coins, among other types of currency, are frequently difficult to count and
sort due to their sheer bulk, different denominations, and the labor-intensive nature of the
process. In response to this difficulty, the invention of automated coin counting machines has
emerged as a possible answer, transforming how businesses, financial organizations, and even
individuals manage coin currencies.
This study focuses on the development of "Peso Precision," an automated coin counting
machine created exclusively for the Philippine peso currency. This new machine seeks to simplify
the process of counting, sorting, and handling coins, providing exceptional precision, efficiency,
and ease. Peso Precision automates the time-consuming activity of coin counting, reducing the
chance of human error and boosting overall operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
The relevance of Peso Precision goes beyond just convenience. In a cash-based country like
the Philippines, where coins play an important role in daily transactions, effective coin
management has significant implications for the economy. Peso Precision facilitates faster and
more accurate coin counting, resulting in easier financial transactions, improved cash flow
management, and, ultimately, economic prosperity.
This study intends to delve into the complexities of Peso Precision's development process,
investigating its technological foundations, design considerations, operational features, and
potential influence on various stakeholders. This study aims to provide useful insights into the
transformational potential of automated coin counting technology in the Philippine financial
environment by conducting a thorough evaluation of its features, benefits, and implementation
obstacles.
As the demand for effective money management solutions grows, the creation of Peso
Precision marks a significant step in modernizing and optimizing coin handling procedures. Peso
Precision exemplifies the convergence of innovation and practicality by combining cutting-edge
technology with a thorough understanding of the specific issues faced by coin currency. It is
poised to transform the way coins are counted and managed in the Philippines and beyond.
Separating out coins by hand can be exhausting and time consuming. Why waste all of that time
sorting and rolling coins when a machine could help you complete that task in half the time? The
time you save can then be dedicated to other important tasks that you might not have gotten to
otherwise. Time is money, and the less time you have to spend counting and sorting money, the
more time you can actually make money.( Santiago 2020)
Improvised Coin sorters are incredibly useful tools not only in your personal life, but in your
professional life, too. They might be just a small convenience to help you keep track of your
spare change at home, but to a business they can provide numerous additional benefits. If
you’ve ever considered getting more financially organized and better at managing your coins,
Improvised coin sorters could be the solution you’ve been looking for. In fact, one of the major
reasons
businesses invest in improvised coin sorters is the amount of time saved. Not only that, but
improvised coin sorters take a lot of weight off of in-office accounting services. So the whole
office will benefit financially from the use of improvised coin
sorters. If you work with customer finances and need to process numbers quickly and accurately,
a Improvised coin sorting machine is going to be the competitive edge
your business needs, especially if you work with physical cash every day. A Improvised coin
sorter and allows you to get accurate information to your clients in less time, which can help
build customer relationships. (Torralba. 2019)
Coin counting machines not only speed up the coin counting process, but also increase the
accuracy and efficiency of cash handling, which is a key factor for businesses and organizations
that handle cash. In this article, the authors consider the requirements that must be taken into
account when developing coin counting machines. The main components of a coin counter are
also discussed. Development of a kinetic scheme of a coin feeder. (Maksymova,Yevsieiev 2024)
In this dynamic era of new evolution of technology, the systems are moving towards smart way
to improve the utilization and effectiveness of the system. In this work, an attempt is made to
design and develop the coin sorting machine, which can be extended to variety of similar
applications. Coins are circulated enormously in public and private transportation sectors,
temples and in Retail shops, where sorting and counting done by manually, which increases the
monotony of the work, less precision and effectiveness.(Srinivasan et al.,2021)

Conceptual Framework
The conceptual framework used in the research provides an overview of
what the researchers discovered. The researchers employed an automatic coin
counting machine for their non-experimental method. After observing the
necessary parameters, the researchers examined the data from their
observations to produce the study's findings and conclusions. The researchers
did the study and research to support the ongoing study for more information.
The research paradigm is presented in the IPO (Input, Process, and
Output) diagram, which depicts the flow of the system that assisted in
determining the effectiveness of a coin counter machine in counting a precise
number of coins that may benefit small business owners. The first frame is the
input, which includes the materials used for the non-experimental phase. The
procedure includes the stages used in the non-experiment. The output reveals
the final invention, which is the answer to the time-consuming penny counting
problem.
