Success Mantra
from JEE (Advanced) 2023 Topper
• Spread out learning over me rather than rote memoriza on
before prac ce exams. It is best to try and memorize concepts or at
least understand a concept thoroughly while it is being taught,
which also allows you to invest more me in learning the concept
in depth.
• Ensure you devote enough me to studies everyday while
balancing your hobbies as an off-ramp to burnout. Stay consistent
in your studies throughout the years you devote to your
prepara on, and revise concepts regularly.
• Use the prac ce tests to test out different strategies of tackling a
paper, to iden fy an order of tackling the three subjects that works
best for you.
• Do not stress out about the JEE examina ons. Write all prac ce
tests and the final test calmly and without trying to rush through
calcula ons. Don’t let the pressure of wan ng a good result
preclude a good performance in the exam.
• I ensured that I had adequate sleep and that health would not be a
burden on my daily ac vi es and prep.
• I was consistent over the course of my prep and revisited older
topics to ensure I had understood them well.
• A emp ng mul ple prac ce ques ons and PYQs from compe ve
exams helped priori ze the topics and formulas I needed to focus
on and iden fy inconspicuous pa erns in ques ons that could then
be tackled with similar problem-solving strategies.
• Maintain a mo va onal peer group, and maintain construc ve
compe on with your peers and with your own previous Aditya Neeraje
performances, to constantly improve your own performance. JEE (Adv.) AIR–27
Success Mantra
from JEE (Advanced) 2023 Topper
• Exams like JEE Advanced requires deep learning and clear cut
conceptual clarity throughout the syllabus. It goes on without
saying that if you are quite clear with the concepts then you are
super ready for any type of ques on.
• Prepara on does not happen within few days or last month. You
have to con nuously put the efforts, dedica on and hard work.
• Smart work plays a major role in your prepara on. There are
millions of books available in the market that you cannot read even
through your whole life. So choose the material wisely as suggested
by your mentors. Remember less is more.
• The D-Day plays major role in deciding your result of years of hard
work. Learn to stay calm and composed and increase your common
sense and calcula on skills via a lot of prac ce.
• Mo va on comes from you only! If you really want to achieve your
dream career then nobody can stop you and that fire will keep
burning ll last moment.
SOME POINTERS ABOUT MY JOURNEY:
• I started my journey in class 11 with a strong founda on I have created in my
junior classes and con nued this ll my last moment with consistency and hard
work.
• I had completed my syllabus ll October 2022 with the great help of my mentors
and then in last few months I revised mul ple mes, gave a lot of mock test to
increase my si ng me of 6 hours without being red, done pyqs in detail to
understand pa ern and revisited my doubts and silly mistakes.
• I had prac ced mathema cs a lot. This helped me doing ques ons fast and
smartly.
• I have been very honest with my parents, teachers and indeed to myself.
Aakash Gupta
• Low phases keep coming in my Olympiad and JEE journey but I never give up.
Instead of being sha ered, I emerged even more stronger me ready to chase my JEE (Adv.) AIR–28
aim with all dedica on.
Success Mantra
from JEE (Advanced) 2022 Topper
• I kept a somewhat regular sleep cycle, and made sure to eat well.
• I didn’t count the number of hours I studied; instead, I measured
my produc vity by se ng a quota for a day (Pending assignments,
prepara on for upcoming tests etc.)
• It can be hard to stay mo vated for 2 years, but it’s easy to be
mo vated for a test in 2 days. Regular tes ng helped keep me up to
date with studies along with some harsh reality checks.
• I was interested in olympiads like NSEs, PRMO, KVPY and preparing
for them was a welcome break from JEE, while crea ng checkpoints
along the way to judge na onal level compe on.
• My peer group was quite compe ve and our class discussions
helped strengthen my concepts.
• I made sure to do error analysis a er the tests, and discuss with
teachers/classmates about any conceptual doubts or alternate
solu ons.
• When in doubt about which books are useful and which topics are
relevant, archive is god.
• I stayed away from social media during my JEE prepara on to avoid
distrac ons.
• It is important to talk to your parents regularly. Your teachers will
help you academically, but parents help you emo onally and will
be your best support system.
• Always be aware of your reality. Dreams mo vate us, delusions
blind us.
• JEE is not the end of life. There is a lot to life outside of this exam, Tanishka Kabra
and consistent effort is required regardless of your JEE rank. JEE (Adv.) AIR–1

Success Mantra
from JEE (Advanced) 2020 Topper
• I put lot of effort to prepare for the compe on, studying relevant parts of the syllabus
from 11th and 12th grade.
• To avoid distrac ons, I don’t have a smartphone in 11th grade for limited social media
interac on.
• I always devoted me to solving previous year ques on papers and model test papers to
excel in specific exams.
• From my point of view, Determina on is more crucial for long-term prepara on and
staying mo vated.
• Remember, Time management and realizing the value of your me are important for the
forthcoming JEE(ADV).
• Switching between subjects and staying mo vated helped me to study more effec vely.
• I always focused on solving my physics problems and memorizing chemistry concepts.
• Spending extra me studying out-of-topic material helped me in understanding the
course be er and ge ng a broader perspec ve.
• Notes helped me to stay focused and avoid sleeping in class.
• I didn't revise my notes, but always used them as a method to pay a en on and highlight
important things.
• I always study beyond the syllabus those helped me in gaining addi onal knowledge and
improving my exam performance.
• I appreciated the curriculum and teaching structure of Aakash Ins tute.
• The teachers at Aakash Ins tute played a significant role in my performance and
provided con nuous support to me.
