ASSESSMENT
Performace/Transfer Task
Performance Task: Waste Utilization Campaign
As an environmentalist supporting the Local Government Units in partnership with the
Department of Science and Technology in looking for solutions for some environmental
problems through waste utilization campaign, you are to conduct scientific investigations and
organize a campaign in utilizing biodegradable and biodegradable waste materials to deepen
the thrust of saving the environment and the same time producing useful products.
GOAL: To show understanding of the elements and compounds used at home and community,
their advantages and harmful effects to human and the environment by promoting a good
waste utilization program.
ROLE: You are to organize a waste utilization campaign program.
AUDIENCE: Community
SITUATION: You are to organize a waste utilization campaign in celebration of the Science
Week of the school about utilizing biodegradable and biodegradable waste materials to deepen
the thrust of saving the environment and the same time producing useful products.
PRODUCTS:
o Product 1 – A waste utilization campaign poster which must include top fine waste
materials generated by the household and ways on how these may be managed
properly.
o Product 2 – A slideshow presentation for 30 – 40 minutes explanation of an effective
waste utilization program at home, school and community.
o Product 3 – A 5” x 8” pamphlet with four to six pages on Effective Waste Utilization
program to be distributed to the students to heighten their awareness on the proper
sorting of materials according to use and proper disposal of waste at home, school and
community.
Standards and Criteria for Success:
The waste utilization campaign should include all the important details in terms of content,
focus, persuasive language, product and resources.
