— COUNCIL OF PUNJAB & HARYANA NATIONAL LEGAL SEMINAR CRP OES eared Theme -Young Lawyers: Transcending Legal Barriers In Association with Panjab University, Chandigarh er Tr In collaboration with: [a= adi Legal Education Committee Department of Laws, ka (Chandigarh), State Bar Council CE) Panjab University, Amrit Mahotsav Chandigarh {2 University institute of Legal #82 Studies (UILS), Panjab University NTF, y ~ NATIONAL LEGAL SEMINAR ON 12th NOVEMBER 202 Theme - Young Lawyers : Transcending Legal Barriers For over sixty years, the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has undauntedly served the Bar and Bench by quintessentially performing its statutory duties and serving an integral purpose of imparting education, skill and spur to budding lawyers. Yet again, the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana is gratified to Organize a National Legal Seminar on the theme “Young Lawyers: ‘Transcending Legal Barriers” on 12th November 2022, delving into the eventful journey of a young lawyer and the importance of ethical standards while achieving excellencein the legal profession. Suvir Sidhu Lekh Raj Sharma CM. Munjal Chairman Chairman, Legal Education Committee (Chandigarh) Chairman, Executive Committee Gurtej Singh Grewal Partap Singh Ashok Singla Hony. Secretary Member BCI Vice Chairman WORKING SESSIONS Trial of Aruna Shaunbaug: ARe-enactment. The Supreme Court on March 9, 2011 ruled that individuals had a right to die with dignity, allowing passive euthanasia with guidelines. The need to change euthanasia laws was triggered by the famous Aruna Shanbaug case. Real-time judges and lawyers will recreate the same atmosphere as it was then in Court, by raising the same arguments by giving it a modish vision of realising the importance of relieving the earthling defunct because of the persistent vegetative state that is, finally taking live deceased to wanted heaven as last wish. Aruna Shaunbaug's family (staged) shall also bethere. Marital Rape & Gender Neutrality: Debate 360. ‘At present, non-consensual sex by a man with his wife is not a penal offence and Section 375 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860 decriminalises marital rape and holds that sexual intercourse by aman with his own wife, the wife not being under 18, is not rape. This debate will dilate the thinking of Gen-X and all others and will prove influential in clearing the bars of prejudiced gender offences already prevalent since times immemorial. The recent decisions of various Hon'ble Courts have rendered the opponent's opinions cornered with no one to defend the potentially meritorious views and arguments against the present scenario. The room will be open for 360- degree debate and the views will be creative. Inqui analytical session “Who wants to serve? when one can be the master.” This inquisitive session will aim to propose the adroitness of young lawyers in developing and establishing their own law firms along with financial management skills to grow and work in better ways to deliver justice to the deprived and innocent. This session is intended towards the sharing of ideas in line with making the best adaptive and responsive environment for clients to share their grief with ease. So the young bright generation of law students and lawyers are welcome to present the same. Running a law firm is rewarding but. presents many challenges for managing partners. Leaders must manage not only the business aspects of running a law firm but tend to their duties in practicing law. Law firms run the best with leadership that is adaptive and responsive to the current workplace climate. Future and young lawyers present their hard and soft skills to the audience/prospective recruits. Judges todecide. a Legal Masterclass There are umpteen thoughts and ideas that muddle young minds and they are often capable of thinking towards changing their perspective in no time, however, due to lack of guidance and knowledge about which path to take, they end up tired and give up. All the way, it becomes imperative for the masters of the legal profession to enlighten young and practicing lawyers regarding how to work towards the same and figure out the problems and real-time challenges of the society we are living in currently by comparing the transformational difference over a period of time. ”» Presentation of research papers by students/acader ns/lawyers on the topic- International Human Rights in 2022. » SRR OTR (BCPH) is pleased to invite submissions of eee Eee) et eel ea a CTY ean Une Ce PPPOE SCR CUCM See Se ee UCI cee ogc aT eS aee Maen cy ETC Tul alee la NS“ ‘NX GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING RESEARCH PAPERS- * Topic: International Human Rights in 2022. + [tis compulsory for all authors to submit a single document containing an Abstract (200- 300 words) along with the 2000-3000 word research paper on the aforementioned topic. + Co-Authorship is allowed.
