Please provide your impressions of the candidate's character, considering qualities such as
initiative, responsibility, tolerance, resilience, integrity, independence, and maturity. We
especially welcome an example or two of any specific events, unusual circumstances, or life
experiences shared by the candidate which provide insight into relative strengths and

All applicants to the Class of 2024 are required to write a short essay reflecting on Daniel
Webster’s memorable line: “It is, Sir…a small college. And yet, there are those who love it!”
