DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATH V I.
Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a. describe the meaning of Probability;
b. record and display the result of probability experiments; and
c. predict possible outcomes base on facts.

III. Learning Task
Teacher Activity Student’s Activity
A. Pre Activity Good
Morning, Class Good morning Sir!
1. Motivation
Have you experienced going to a picnic? No/Yes, Sir!
How does it feel? Happy, exciting….
Why did you feel happy?
Why did you feel excited?
What kind of weather is best for picnics? Sunny weather, Sir!
(show picture of weathers)
Why it is that sunny weather is the best for
picnics?
Yes/No, Sir!
If the weatherman says that the Probability that
it will rain today is 75%, will you still go on a
picnic?
Yes, Sir!
Let us see later if you will still have the same
response as we go on with our lesson. Are you
ready, class?
Cooperate, keep quiet, and participate!
B. Activity Proper Note:
Set Standards for group activity!
Before we start our group work, what are the things
we should consider when having a group activity?
Performanc Cooperation Behavior Total
e
40% 30% 30% 100%
I will group you into three. Each group will be
given a spinner. What you’re going to do is? (every
group will read the directions given to them) You
do that activity for 10 minutes only.
Directions: Spin the spinner 10 times, and record
the outcome on the record sheet provided to your
group. Then answer the questions that follow. Each group is expected to have different
outcomes.
Color Tally Frequency
Green
Blue “It has a great chance that the highest color
that will appear is yellow”
Yellow
Red “The color blue and red is expected to appear
the least”
a. What colors appear the most?
b. What colors appear the least?
C. Post-Activity
1. Group Presentation/ Group report
Your group leaders will select one from your group
that will present your work in front.
(giving grades of their work)
What have you done is an experiment of
Probability.
2. Discussion
Children, have you experienced tossing a coin?
I have here a coin.
How many sides does a coin have?
Tossing a coin is an example of probability because
if we will toss this coin, there’s a chance that we can Yes, Sir!
get the head and a chance also to get the tail.
Who want to toss the coin? What do you think will Two, Sir!
come out? Is it the head or the tail?
Let us see.
(someone will toss the coin)
What side came out?
Who wants to try also?
What do we mean by probability?
Probability – is the chance that something will
happen or not. Tail/head
Now children in interpreting probability we should
learn the following.
If the chance that something will happen or not is,
(explain the table)
PROBABI
50%
0% 25%
As likely
Impossible More unlikely
As unlikely
75% 100%
For example: Tomorrow is your summative test. LITY More Likely Certain
Vyienna
Vyienna reviewed all her lessons.
Alexa only reviewed 25% of the lesson. She reviewed all her lessons
John Mark did not review at all.
Joshua reviewed 50% of his lessons and 100%
Jenelyn reviewed 75% of his lessons.
John Mark
Who do you think will get a high score? He did not review at all
Why?
What is its percentage of probability?
Who do you think will not pass the test?
Why?
Ok very good!
Now let us have an activity
3. Application
I have here a box containing shapes with colors.
5 green, 2 yellow, 2 blue and 1 white.
I will call 10 students to come in front to pick a
shape by random 2 times from the box, and then
record the outcome by completing the table on the
board.
Shapes Tally Frequency
yellow
Blue
Green
White
What color appeared the most? And why?
What color appeared the least? And why?
(I will call some of the learners to answer the
questions)
Let us clap for ourselves!!!
4. Generalization
What is probability again class? The chance that something will happen or
not.
If the probability is 0 what is its interpretation? Impossible, Sir.
What if the probability is 100%? Certain, Sir.
If the probability is 25%? More unlikely, Sir.
What if the probability is 75%? More Likely, Sir.
5. Valuing
Your family planned for a picnic today.
A while ago our weatherman says that the
probability that it will rain today is 75% will you
still go for a picnic? No, Sir!!
Why? Because there is a great chance to rain.
Is it good to go for a picnic on a rainy day? No, sir!
Why? There is a probability to meet accident, we
will not enjoy, and we will get sick.
So what is it then the kind of weather is the best to
go for a picnic? Sunny day, Sir!
IV. Evaluation
A weatherman forecast the chances of rain for the whole week. Write certain, likely, as like
as unlikely, unlikely and impossible to describe the probability of rain for the whole week.
1. Monday, chance of rain is 50%.
2. Tuesday, chance of rain is 85%.
3. Wednesday, chance of rain is 0.
4. Thursday, chance of rain is 35%.
5. Friday, chance of rain is 100%.
V. Assignment
Jenny has a green skirt, an orange skirt, a yellow blouse, a
white blouse, black shoes and tan shoes. Jenny chooses an
outfit to wear at random by spinning the spinners in
6 6 succession.
How many different outfits are possible?
