Proximodistal - It is a development of a person that occurs from the centre or core of the
body in an outward direction.

It refers to growth and development that occurs from the head down. An infant will gain
control over their neck muscles first, which allows them to hold their head steady.

 It refers to the development where involves changes in the individual’s physical nature.
 It refers to the development where involves changes in an individual’s relationship with
other people.
 It refers to the development where involves changes in individual’s thought, intelligence
and language.
 It refers to the development where a person will show extensive change from birth to
adolescence, little or no change in adulthood and decline in late old age.
