Network Loop Configurations
The Superloop Network card (NT8D04) combines four regular network loops to make 120 timeslots available to Peripheral Equipment (PE)
cards housed in Intelligent Peripheral Equipment (IPE) Modules.
An IPE Shelf has four card segments, numbered 0-3. Segment 0 consists of PE slots 0-3, segment 1 consists of card slots 4-7, segment 2
consists of card slots 8-11, and segment 3 consists of card slots 12-15.
One Superloop can be used for each segment (zero blocking), or shared bewteen 1 to 8 segments (two shelves). The back-plane wiring
configuration (J1, J2 - SL0/SL1/SL2/SL3) must match the software configuration.

Notes:
NT8D01AC is a Controller-4 (Max. 4 superloops per shelf)
NT8D01AD is a Controller-2 (Max. 2 superloops per shelf)
The NT8D04 Superloop Card (XNET) may be located in any acceptable slot in an NT4N41 Core/Net Module or NT8D35 Network Module.
On XNET cards, connector J1 is used for odd numbered shelves, connector J2 is used for even numbered shelves.
Four segements per superloop is the most common configuration, ie: One superloop (J2) per IPE Shelf (SL0).

Network Loop Configurations
Use NT8D91 cables between NT8D04 Superloop cards (J1/J2), and the IPE Shelf card backplane (SL0/SL1/SL2/SL3).
Network Loop Configurations Explained
One segment per superloop (1:1 - non-blocking)
Populated with NT8D02AA Digital Line Cards with all 16 voice and all 16 data TN's provisioned, this configuration provides a virtual non-blocking
(120 times slots to 128 TN's) environment. Four XNET cards and one Controller-4 card are required.
Two segments per superloop (1:1 - non-blocking/low concentration)
Populated with NT8D02AA Digital Line Cards with no data TN's enabled, NT8D03 Analog Line Cards, NT8D09AA Message Waiting Line Cards,
or NT8D15AA Trunk cards, this configuration will provide a virtual non-blocking (120 timeslots to 32-128 TN's) environment. When half of the
data TN's on NT8D02AA Digital Line Cards are enabled, this configuration still provides a low concentration of TN's to timeslots (120 timeslots
to 196 TN's) and a very low probability of blocking. Two XNET cards and one Controller-2 card are required.
Four segments per superloop (1:2 - medium concentration)
Populated with NT8D02AA Digital Line Cards, NT8D03 Analog Line Cards, NT8D09AA Message Waiting Line Cards, or NT8D15AA Trunk
cards, this configuration will provide a medium concentration (120 timeslots to 64-256 TN's) environment. When half of the data TN's on
NT8D02AA Digital Line Cards are enabled, this configuration provides a concentration of 120 timeslots to 384 TN's. One XNET card and one
Controller-2 card are required.
Eight segments per superloop (1:4 - high concentration)
Populated with NT8D02AA Digital Line Cards, NT8D03 Analog Line Cards, NT8D09AA Message Waiting Line Cards, or NT8D15AA Trunk
cards, this configuration will provide a high concentration (120 timeslots to 128-512 TN's) environment. When half of the data TN's on
NT8D02AA Digital Line Cards are enabled, this configuration provides a concentration of 120 timeslots to 768 TN's. One XNET card and two
Controller-2 cards are required.
One segment per Superloop/three segments per superloop
One segment is assigned to one superloop and an additional three segments are assigned to another superloop. This configuration provides a
virtual non blocking environment for the single segment served by the first superloop and a medium concentration of TN's to timeslots for the
three segments assigned to the additional superloop, as described in the preceding examples. Two XNET cards and one Controller-2 card are
required.
Two segments per Superloop/six segments per superloop
2 segments are assigned to one superloop and an additional 6 segments are assigned to another superloop. This configuration provides a virtual
non blocking environment for the two segments served by the first superloop (or a very low concentration of TN's to timeslots when some data
TN's are enabled) and a medium concentration of TN's to timeslots for the three segments assigned to the additional superloop, as described in
