I. ACTIVITY SUMMARY
TITLE : MONTHLY SPIRITUAL CONVERSATION
DURATION : Every third Friday of the Month starting March 2024
VENUE : 2F Prayer Room, Faber Building, Ateneo De Naga City
PROPONENT : Campus Ministry Students Volunteers (CMSV)
II. RATIONALE
Upholding the Ignatian Spirituality, the College Campus Ministry Office (CMO) seeks to provide
its volunteers with opportunities to help develop and integrate their personal, academic, and
spiritual live through spiritual conversation.
Ignatian Spirituality leads to a desire to find God in all things. St. Ignatius of Loyola during his
recuperation in 1521, recounts how he was moved by the Lord. “…his heart was touched by the
love of God, and he began to share this joy with those in his home, who were surprised to see “a
change in his soul.” When he saw that this was also “doing their souls a great deal of good,” he
understood that entering into conversation was a good way to invite others to discover God in
their lives and to open themselves up to the desire to love and serve him” 1.
In this light, the College Campus Ministry, in its desire to accompany its volunteers- Campus
Ministry Students Volunteers (CMSV), in their personal and spiritual growth, is conducting its
monthly Spiritual Conversation. It hopes to provide the participants an avenue for silence,
reflection, and conversation, leading them to become open to God and move forward in
response to his call. A Campus Minister will facilitate this one-and-a-half-hour activity.
This spiritual exercise will let the participants know more about each other through meaningful
conversations. Likewise, this is an opportune time for the CMSV and Campus Ministers to
establish a more profound connection to better accompany one another for the mission.
III. OBJECTIVES:
The activity would like to attain the following objectives:
1. To promote self-awareness and find meaning in their daily life.
2. To deepen personal relationships with God and others through spiritual conversation
3. To perform their duties as student volunteers with great love and generosity.
