GED0085 - Gender and Society
MIDTERM EXAMINATION
QUESTIONS:
1. How do you feel while you are conducting the interview? Please elaborate.
As someone who finds it difficult to communicate with others and is sometimes
socially uncomfortable, conducting interviews with strangers can be nerve-wracking.
However, since I only interviewed people I knew, everything went well. As for hearing
the perspectives of many generations on current concerns, I was fairly intrigued and
eager to do so. I won't dispute that knowing their views on some topics causes me to
consider my own perspectives and that I may have been slightly impacted by their
ideas.
2. Who do you think among your participants is most knowledgeable about
gender and development?
Even before I conduct the interview, I am confident that the younger generations
will have a deeper understanding of issues relating to gender and development because
they are now widely discussed across all platforms and because they have access to all
the information they need to become knowledgeable about the subject. And I am aware
that Gen Z is more flexible and accepting of change.
3. Who do you think is the least knowledgeable about gender and development?
Even though I first believed that older generations are the least aware about
issues relating to gender and development, I was astonished to find out that, despite
their limited knowledge of the topics, older generations don't hold back when sharing
their opinions on the matter. More surprisingly, I was taken aback by the fact that these
people are attempting to accept the situation as it is while simultaneously adapting to
changes. We can all agree that these perspectives are influenced by the way society
has operated for a very long time, despite the fact that they may differ from one another.
4. What are your conclusions after analyzing their responses?
I can say that even though everyone has a distinct opinion on gender and
development after hearing diverse perspectives from various generations. I've come to
the conclusion that these perspectives are not dependent on the generation you belong
to. But it depends on each person's personality and upbringing. If someone has a
narrow view of certain issues, it may be a result of how they were brought up and how
their family dealt with it. But I would argue that these concerns are, in many ways,
coming to light and, finally, are now being discussed,as opposed to when they were
taboo and kept to a minimum.
5. What are your learning insights after conducting this activity?
As I mentioned before, I was slightly influenced by the viewpoints I looked at,
therefore doing this task actually affected how I perceive things. All I take away from this
is that, despite our variations in gender, sexual orientation, and sexual expression, we
must learn to treat one another with decency and respect. We need to increase
awareness of the diverse society we inhabit. Not only that, but since we are able to
recognize disparities in gender, sexual orientation, and sexual expression, we also need
to learn how to respect one another's perspectives on gender and development
because everyone has something important to say about these matters.

nation needs to change because change is a constant. If same sex marriage were to ever become
legal, the Philippines would be more progressive. Let's keep an open mind. The LGBTQ

some people disagree with same-sex marriage and for me the government should allow civil
unions if they do not approve of this program.

Transgender women shouldn't be permitted to compete in Miss Universe. Insisting that
