This commitment to the audience’s involvement makes it one of the most riveting and satisfying
experiences. It’s a very curious film, which asks the right questions, hence making you
uncomfortable. I think the director of this film really believes it because he's done a superlative job
of following the formula. This leads Angela to said garage, where she discovers that it is the place
used to film the murders, and she is immediately taken prisoner. Her acting is consistently believable
and wonderful. THE HANDLE OF THE BLADE (1 woman, 2 men) A king confesses to his loyal

but I bet somewhere will have it just because it’s Almodovar. The claustrophobia of the gloomy
Madrid family house in Carlos Saura’s Cria cuervos (Raise Ravens, 1976), which the sisters leave at
the end of the school holidays, functions as a metaphor for a secluded nation opening up with the
death of Franco. And there’s a wonderful cast of Spanish actresses: Maribel Verdu, Angela Molina,
Inma Cuesta and the young Macarena Garcia. From Harold Lloyd clutching the hands of a giant

to a rich man. Her journey to move away from that dangerous fetish in a way is what made her arc
simply compelling. After we slept with the lights on for weeks, that is. What deserves special praise
is the psychosexual aspect to it as the protagonist is actually sexually attracted toward violence and
the idea of serial killers. Excellent pricing, secure packaging, great communication and fast shipping.
The tough terrain was a logistics nightmare to shoot. But Juan is at a crucial stage in his career, Maria

however, their hands were separated before the official police photographs were taken. Jorge Castro,
the professor, was incredibly creepy and menacing (the reveal scene in the office was the film’s best,
most intense scene) while Figueroa himself was quite a tragic figure that served as an incredibly
intriguing, dark catalyst for the entire story to unfold. All Girls Want Bad Boys: Angela is obviously
attracted to Bosco from the beginning, despite being introduced to him as a possible Serial Killer of
young women, and refuses to report her suspicions until she's sure he's not innocent. Read more

culture are all pitched together in Jamon, Jamon: bullfighting, food, out of control passion,

the explosive encounter of those two forces of nature, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. But then,
there is a significant language barrier that forces us to choose different options. It should be noted
that Argentina did not have trials by jury until the beginning of 2015, thus theatrics are not of the
essence here. The film tries to plow through the ugliness and closeness between human beings.
Relationships between parents and their children are always mysterious. It just goes to show that
he’s one of Spain’s most precious cinematic commodities. But I would seriously recommend you
avoid such snarls and enjoy the film because it’s a terrific, tense thriller. Spain has since emerged as
a leader of horror, delivering some of the most terrifying films in recent memory and a new wave of
talented filmmakers with an uncanny ability to craft scares. The film is about Benjamin (Ricardo
Darin), a retired federal officer looking to write a novel about a particular case he worked on 25

Brian DePalma ripoff, with every cliche in the book. I still have mixed thoughts about it, especially
in regards to the horror chase scenes that felt too cliched for this very authentic movie besides that.

the beehive-like edifices whose hypnotic blinking light shows a distant indifference to the struggle of
the two authors (the painter and the filmmaker) to hold back time. Big Bad Duumvirate: Bosco and
Castro are the main perpetrators of the snuff movies. Sorogoyen wanted his audience to like what
they saw but be discomfited by the squalor and violence. Yesterday I saw this magnificent low
budget thriller. Being an ardent Hitchcock fan, life came full circle for Jorge, who has used multiple
Hitchcockian references in the film. Utterly uninterested in the usual tourist landmarks, Madrid is

television reporter Angela Vidal as she gets locked into an apartment building with something
sinister, spawned 3 sequels and an American near shot-for-shot remake. The second work by Victor
Erice tells of a girl growing up into adolescence and her fascination with her father. If that's not
enough, at the climax she's in a deserted house with a sadistic murderer and, pow, a fuse blows and
the lights go out yet again. The switcheroos come so thick and fast they become glutinous and
indistinguishable from one another. Angela takes it, but she's reluctant to watch at first and only
listens to it. Chusa (Veronica Forque), a free-spirited young drug smuggler introduces Elena (Aitana
Sanchez-Gijon), a middle-class runaway, to the apartment she shares with cousin Jaimito (Juan
Echanove) and boyfriend Alberto (Antonio Banderas), a rookie policeman. From repression to
aggression to transgression, the fifteen films on this list represent some of the masterpieces of
Spanish cinema. The TV crew follows the squad, and a supposedly routine stress call quickly spirals
out of control.
Hypocrite: Angela is very vocal about her dislike for violence and her disgust for anyone who revels
in it, yet every time there's something really violent she can't help herself but to look, and she
records the screams from the Snuff Film to listen to them. There’s a particularly creepy scene that
involves a tiny red light, which just so happens to look exactly like the light on my anti-mosquito
device. She was the new department chief back then and currently serving as a judge. That
happened; however, their hands were separated before the official police photographs were taken.
Her husband killed her so that he could be with his young girlfriend. In keeping with the series’ low-
key reinvention of the action-hero genre, Jason Bourne may have super-strength and a piercing
intellect, the results of a clandestine CIA experiment, but he also has a talent for anonymity, which
is why his vehicle of choice is the humble train. But this is not your old-school road trip; it is the
journey of a lifetime with a lot of realizations and a chance for Julio and Tenoch to embrace
emerging adulthood. Angela is such a complex woman who is always scared and timid, but also truly
curious about the darkest corners of humanity and at the end she even gets sexual arousal from it.
Angela flees into a room and closes the door when she sees Bosco at home, presuming that he has
broken into. As a bonus, you'll get to know the magnificent building housing the School of Law of
the University of Buenos Aires. I freaked out, and every little noise in my big empty apartment made
me jump. Death of a Cyclist was, at once, groundbreaking and derivative. Each of the six stories
only gets more diabolic, exposing the feral insight into our dark souls. The voyeurism in the film
confines the audience into an ethical crisis. Very good film even if the subject matter is a bit dark.
Director Alberto Rodriguez says that he mainly chose that year because it was a year of great
political tension in Spain. I’ll come back here for the ideas when another rainy weekend strikes
Madrid. Utterly uninterested in the usual tourist landmarks, Madrid is defined in Truman through the

for thinking nothing of him. BAD MOOD (2 men) After not hearing back from his father, a
concerned son travels to a lighthouse where his father refuses to leave his work post. Julia Robert’s
magisterial yet reticent portrayal almost overshadows the original. The Sociopath: The person who
filmed the Snuff Film, namely Bosco, and also Castro. From Harold Lloyd clutching the hands of a
giant clock on Safety Last. Take That!: Jorge Castro is famously based in one of Amenabar's college
teachers, Antonio Castro, whom Amenabar claimed made him fail his exams due to disagreements.
The best of the best from Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, Cuba, and even the United States, this list of
Netflix Spanish movies features many festival darlings and at least a half-dozen Oscar nominees. All
to the sound of a bastardised flamenco guitar score. Unbeknownst to the firefighters and the tenants,
a virus is spreading amongst the complex, contaminating anyone who is bitten or scratched by an
infected person. I still look that way, despite what you may have heard from my psychotherapist or

Amenabar concocts an inspired teen horror film, anchored by a solid script, that constantly springs
surprises throughout its two hours. One day, her adopted son, Simon (Roger Princep), disappears.
Chekhov's Gun: The knife Angela takes from Bosco's kitchen later saves her from him. The raw,
