I. ACTIVITY For our next activity, we will have a “Game Show quiz”.

The class will be divided into three groups. I will be playing a timed game show
quiz. Each question has a corresponding point. Most points at the end of the game
will be the winning group

In Microsoft Excel, we can make charts to display series of numeric data in a


graphical format to make it easier to understand large quantities of data and the
relationship between different series of data.

II. ANALYSIS Now let us look on the picture, what type of graphs is shown in the picture ?

Discussion of Lesson – INSERTING GRAPHS IN EXCEL

Next, how do we start making a chart in Microsoft Excel? First we need numeric
data.
Class, last meeting we discuss about the different parts of Microsoft excel. Now, we
will insert numeric data to create our sample chart.

III. ABSTRACTION Group Activity. Chart making Contest

Students will be grouped into three. Each group will pick a task. The pick task
contains the instructions on how to insert graph. Target output is to produce one (1)
colourful chart based on what they pick. They will be given 10 minutes to do the
activity and (3) minutes to present it to the class.

Step 1 – Select the data for which you want to create a chart.
Step 2 – Go to the Insert tab.
Step 3 – on the Chart ribbon, Click on the recommended Charts.
Step 4 – Select one of the graph types of you want to use (click all charts if you
didn’t find your preferred design)
Step 5 – Select the 2D column chart and click OK.
(the student have the option to edit the title of the graphs)
IV. APPLICATION Each group will present their output in front of the class.

The grades will based on the output, They will also give grades on the performance
of their classmates. These are the rubrics for grading their performance.
