Ethics Standards And The Field Of Accounting
Professional ethics are an absolute necessity in the field of accounting. Businesses rely
on accountants to accurately report their financial information and give sound advise
and consultation in regards to their business. There are standards and rules set in place
to ensure that ethics and information is reported accurately. Laws and repercussions are
created place to deter unethical and illegal accounting practices, although it still occurs
in the business world on many levels. The field of accounting has a code of ethics for
very important reasons. Investors and creditors need assurance that the financials of the
company they are investing in are accurate. If the financials of a company are not
created accurately or if the information is falsified and inaccurate, investors and creditors
have the potential to lose lots of money. Ethics standards and controls have increased in
more recent years due to a number of scandals between large corporations. Enron is one
of the most known examples, as many investors lost enormous amounts of money and
life savings due to embezzlement and falsifications from the company and the
accountants handling the financials. Accountants in each state must register with the
state boards in order to legally practice in that state. These boards relay ethical standards
that certified accountants are expected to adhere. An accountant s license can be
suspended if the codes of ethics are violated. One of the main controls set in place to

Re:Recommendation for Amstelveen Corporation s project investment
The purpose of this memo is to explain and recommend which projects Amstelveen
Corporation should invest in based on capital budgeting calculations. First, I will explain
if there are any contradictory recommendations and then I will give the recommended
total I suggest Amstelveen to raise. I will also give my recommendation on which
project(s) the company should pursue if it remains limited to €8,000.000.
Recommendation of Inadvisable Investments
I began my process of identifying which projects would be inadvisable to pursue based
on company policies by first calculation the net ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Another project that I would not recommend is Project D. Even though this project has
an acceptable net present value, accounting rate of return, and payback period the internal
rate of return of 3% is not acceptable. The internal rate of return is a larger determining
factor than the other figures.
Recommendation of Advisable Investments
Based on Amstelveen Corporations policies and capital budget figures, I recommend
that the corporation to invest in Projects A, B, C, and E. Project A has a very high
internal rate of return and accounting rate of return. This indicates this project will be
highly profitable and a positive net present value will increase the value of the
corporation. The payback period of 1.5 years also falls within the 2 year cut off stated
in the policy. Both Projects B and E have acceptable internal rate of returns and
accounting rate of returns as well. This indicates profitability for the company. Since the
net present value for these projects are positive, they have positive cash flows and much
value in the corporation.
Project C is another project I recommend to invest in although the payback period of
over the cut off by six months. However, this project has a highly acceptable internal rate
of return and accounting rate of return. The net present value is large, which would add a
lot of value to the company. In my opinion, these three other factors are large enough to
outweigh the payback
Fury Symbolism
There are times in history in which one can be proud of their country. At other times,
they look at a certain point in history with despair or grief. War could be looked at
through either perspective, judging by one s character. Specifically, in the movie Fury,
the directors used a little blood, gore, violence, and even sentiment to show everything
that warconsists of, The particular war that the movie is portraying is World War Two.
From combining the bond of soldiers to the gruesome conditions in which they fight,
Fury provides an accurate representation on one of the most memorable wars of all
time. Overall, Fury is an eye opening, yet gory cinema that doesn t hold back to show
the good, the bad, and the ugly of war.

Many examples of symbolism occur throughout the movie. For instance, as mentioned
before, Bible is conspicuously religious. He is constantly trying to get his fellow crew
members to be more religious, thus symbolizing the faith many have during hardships.
To continue, Norman must be forced by his commander to kill for the first time,
symbolizing the taint on someone s purity. Another example is when Norman doesn t
shoot a Nazi, which results in an American soldier being killed. This scene depicts the
reality of war and how one cannot hesitate when killing their enemy. Also, towards the
end of the movie, the crew becomes surrounded and outnumbered, but the group doesn
t give up. They stay and fight, symbolizing a soldier s will to sacrifice themselves for
their country. Lastly, one of the most famous and unforgettable quotes from the
movie, best job I ever had is a stark example of the pride the soldiers have for their
country. Symbolism wasn t the only literary device used in Fury. Character
development was used in this movie as well. At the start of the movie, Norman is a
feeble, terrified typist clerk. He then transformed into a fearless, determined shooter that
didn t hesitate to kill a Nazi. In addition, Wardaddy , the commander, eventually warms
up to Norman, as does the crew. Foreshadowing, another literary technique used, was
mainly shown through quotes. To demonstrate, Bible tells Norman, Wait until you see
it. Norman replies, See what? and Bible responds, What a man can do to another man.
Another quote is from Wardaddy who says, You think it can t get worse? It can. And it
will. Both quotes are responsible for hinting at the horrendous events of war that were
yet to come. It is transparent to see that Fury was more than a gory war
