Rezumat Matilda:

Matilda is a children’s novel by Roald Dahl, published in 1988. The story is about a young girl named
Matilda Wormwood who is incredibly intelligent and loves to read, but is constantly belittled and
mistreated by her parents and headmistress. Matilda discovers she has telekinetic powers and
decides to use them to teach her mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, a lesson.

Matilda’s parents are terrible people who neglect their daughter and value only their own shallow
interests. They refuse to let Matilda go to school, so she teaches herself to read and becomes an avid
reader. When she finally does attend school, she meets her kind-hearted teacher, Miss Honey, who
recognizes Matilda’s intelligence and encourages her to develop her skills. However, the school’s
headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, is an evil woman who terrorizes the students and teachers alike.

Matilda decides to use her telekinetic powers to play pranks on Miss Trunchbull and protect her
friends. She also discovers that Miss Honey had a difficult childhood and is living in poverty because
Miss Trunchbull stole her inheritance. Matilda decides to help Miss Honey by using her powers to
force Miss Trunchbull to sign over the inheritance.

In the end, Matilda’s parents attempt to flee the country to avoid the consequences of their illegal
activities, but Matilda decides to stay with Miss Honey, who becomes her legal guardian. The book
explores themes of intelligence, power, and the importance of kindness and education.
