1.0 Purpose
This method statement generally described the procedures and scope of works to
carry out and complete the valve installation at Lorong Bistari 7.
2.0 Scope of Work
The works to be carried comprise of 1 nos 100mm valve (decom) installation at Lorong
Bistari 7.
All works shall comply with the requirement of Local Authorities. The contractor shall
execute the works in strict conformity with the approved plans and shall arrange for
the necessary formalities to be complied with.

3.0 Preparation of Works
3.1 Preliminaries
Prior to commencement of the connection pipe, the work shall be
carried out including:-
i. Ensure that the open cut method procedures was submitted and approved
by the consultant and Air Selangor.
ii. Pilot excavation shall be carried out to determine the existing
Services and existing pipes sizes.
3.2 Traffic Control System
i. All the signboard and safety equipment shall be ready and comply with
the requirement of the authorities and approved by clients.
ii. Flagman provided on site shall be incharged to control traffic flow and
signboards to be used during physical work on site.
3.3 Site Safety and Workers Safety
i. All safety requirements as required will be followed strictly. All standard
procedure will be submitted and monitored by the site head in charge.
ii. Prior to starting of physical work, toolbox meeting with the emphasize of
safety aspect will be conducted everyday on site.
iii. Overall site condition will be strictly placed with safety sign, safety cone,
barriers and flag man as to prevent difficulty to the traffics.

4.2 Open Cut Method or Procedure
i. Ensure excavation and fabrication of pipeworks has been prepared early
before the connection work.
ii. If necessary, close the water sources at existing pipe by authoritiy (Air
Selangor Petaling Region).
iii. Cut the existing 100mm AC pipe according to the size of 100mm decom
valve to be installed.
iv. Install 100mm D/F PN16 sluice valve (decom) complete with MS short piece,
2nos of 100mm VA joint, rubber gasket, bolt and nuts.
v. Workers on site to ensure flange face and gaskets are clean from dust, soil
and any impurities.
5.0 SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
5.1 Safety
i. Safety tool box meeting shall be conducted before start work to remind
workers about concerning the safety.
ii. All workers shall provide with proper Personal Protective Equipement (PPE)
and shall be worn every time they are entering the site.
iii. Permit to work (PTW) shall valid for working on site.
iv. Safety Supervisor shall ensure that the activity shall carry out in a safe
manner.
v. Proper and adequate provision of temporary signage’s and barricade at
working area.

5.2 Environment
i. All workers shall educate on good environmental management practices and
well-disciplined to environment.
ii. All workers shall ensure that all tools and equipment machinery are in good
condition to avoid any oil leakage that could harm to environment.
iii. Safety Supervisor shall ensure that no open burning of construction or
domestic wastes is practiced.
iv. All workers shall ensure to do housekeeping and road clearing after all the
works completed on site.
