RATIONALE OF THE COURSE:
This course is designed to apply the knowledge of different engineering materials such as
ceramic, polymer, composites, etc. in our practical life. This course mostly highlights the
microstructure of metallic materials using phase diagrams, atomic structure, heat treatment of
alloys, etc. The course also describes the classification, properties, processing, and applications
of ceramics, composites, and polymer materials. The course outline supports the selection of
proper materials according to their applications.
