The very first recorded use of biological weapon has occurred in 1347, when Mongol forces are reported to have

weapons
catapulted plague-infested bodies over the walls into the Black Sea Port of Caffa. During WWI, Biological weapons are
accounted to have created such advantage in the battlefield, gaining control of the war and eliminating enemy infantries. Such
usage of any biological specimen for warfare is considered as Biological Weapon. This is one of the many controversial topics
now adays between world leaders and scientists, the lingering threat of a possible engineered pathogen to appear, a biological
weapon that will consume the world population. We are currently facing a world pandemic and it’s on our table still unseized,
although with much effort of our biotech scientists haven’t put a stopper to this depressing era of suffering and death. Some
scientists are discussing the possibility that the Corona Virus would be used a Biological Weapon soon, many are already
speculating that the Corona Virus is indeed a biological weapon with a goal to cut the world population in half. Our
population indeed finally breathed during pandemic due to massive death reports around the globe, but for the sake of
humanity and safety of our planet this pandemic should be stopped once and for all. I believe that the scientists must work at
haste to prepare us from any of these possibilities, I’m not even sure how my own country, Philippines, will respond to a
biological weapon after their failure to properly respond to the Corona Virus early on.

Although our Biosecurity is still obscure, biotechnology hasn’t given us only threat and fear. It has played an
important role in our medical field and even agriculture. We are now enjoying insurance to receive proper medical attention
and medications; we are now eating healthy food on our table, all these because of biotechnology. I hope world leaders stop
considering the usage of biological weapons in warfare, it has tremendous affect not only to the soldiers but also to the
environment, they are living things after all. I hope they come to their senses and finally look at the big picture of destruction
they are causing. I’m not entirely blaming it to the world leaders for letting this horrendous thing to happen, but also to
humans as well for not making the necessary actions themselves to prevent these threats and hazards in their own small way.
