Yes ma’am.
B. Developmental Activities
A. Motivation
Now we will have an activity called
“spin info”. I have here candies,
there are numbers written on it. I’ll
toss these candies and you need to
catch only one candy per students,
that is your number in this game. So
here, I’m going to spin the wheel
and if your number matches the
arrow of the wheel, you will answer
some questions.
Do I make myself clear?

Yes ma’am.
Okay let’s start.
(Teacher will toss the candies)
Does everyone have candy and
numbers?
Yes ma’am

Okay, I will spin now the wheel.

Number 12. Jacky here’s your
question.
Your brother was out of control in
biking and fell on a rough floor, his
knees bleeding. What immediate
action will you do to stop the
bleeding?

The immediate action I would do to stop the

bleeding is wash my hands thoroughly with
soup and water to prevent infection and
gently clean the wound with cool water and
mild soup to remove any dirt or debris, and
apply pressure to the wound with a clean
dry cloth to stop bleeding.

Awesome!

Next (teacher will spin again the

wheel)
Number 5, please stand.
Here’s your question. Your father
can’t breathe properly, you notice
his belt and necktie are too tight.
What are you going to do to provide
enough air for him to breathe
properly?

I would immediately remove his necktie and

loosen his belt to allow his airway to remain
open and also, I observe him because
there’s a possibility that he passes out.

Excellent!
Next number (teacher spin again the
wheel)
Okay number 1. Please stand
Your grandfather slips into the
comfort room and cannot move his
arm anymore. What will you do so
that when you move his arm, he will
not feel severe pain?

If he can’t move his arm. I would suspect

that he may have sustained on injury or
fracture. I ask my grandfather if he feels any
pain or discomfort when I touch or move his
arm, and support his arm with my hand and
gently move it to a comfortable position. If
he experiences pain when I move his arm, I
would stop immediately and not to force the
movement, apply a cold compress or ice
wrapped in a towel to the affected area to
reduce swelling and pain and also, I can
apply bandaging and seek medical.

Perfect.
I appreciate all of your answers.
B. Presentation
What’s your idea or observation
about our activity?
Okay spin the wheel (number 23)
On how you help the people who get
injured.

What is the first thing to do when

someone has an accident or is
injured? (Spin the wheel)
Number 8.
First aid ma’am.

C. Lesson plan
Very good
Now, let’s tackle the first aid basic
information and characteristics.
What comes to your mind when you
hear the word first aid?
Yes Ciara?

Helping people during accident ma’am.

Excellent!
When we say first aid, an immediate
and temporary care given to a person
who suddenly gets ill or injured. It
includes self- help and home care if
medical assistance is not available or
delayed. The goal is keeping the
patient alive until the doctor arrives.
Why do you think we need first aid?
(Spin the wheel) number 1

Because it provides immediate care to a

person who has been injured or suddenly
taken ill. To prevent conditions from
worsening.
Now, let’s discuss the characteristics
of a good first aider I have a
question, what are the things to do or
consider to become a good aider?
Spin the wheel (number 9)

Show empathy and compassion. Provide

reassurance and comfort to help them stay
calm.
Awesome. You’re a good aider
show sympathy can you match the
definition of sympathetic in the
presentation.

(The learner match the definition)

Great. Why sympathetic is important
for a good aider?
Yes Janella.
Because it helps to elevate the victim any
fears or anxiety they may be experiencing.

Fantastic.
How about being gentle Dona please
come infront and match the
definition of gentle.
(Match the definition)

Excellent. Gentle- does not cause

pain and panic what is your idea
why gentle is one of the
characteristics of a good first aider?
Yes Gerald.

First aider should take care to avoid causing

additional pain or discomfort to victim and
also communicate clearly with the victim of
what they are doing and why for the victim
to help also the first aider.

Fabulous.
Being gentle and calm can help to
make the first aid experience less
traumatic for the victim and help to
improve their overall outcome.

Next is observant, anyone who

wants to match the definition of
observant?
Yes kay.
(notice all sign)
Very good.
Why do we need to be observant?
Spin the wheel (number 7)
Because the first aider must secure the
condition of the victim by observing the
blood pressure, breathing, pulse rate and
temperature ma’am.
Terrific. The first aider must
recognize signs of distress and
respond appropriately, which can
help to prevent further injury or
harm to the victim.

Ian, please come Infront and match

the definition of resourceful.

(makes the best use of things at hand)

Amazing.
Why is it important to be a
resourceful especially in first aid?
Yes Clarence.

During emergency situation, the first aider

may not have access to all the necessary
tolls or equipment and may need to make
the best use you need to be a resourceful.
Incredible. Being resourceful is an
important skill for a first aider, being
able to improvise and adapt to the
situation, the first aider can provide
effective care and support to the
victim, even in challenging and
unpredictable situation.

Next is tactful. Rose, please match

the definition of tactful
(does not frighten the victim)
Outstanding.
Okay, why is it important to be
tactful?
Raven.
During an emergency situation, the victim
may be scared or panicked and the first
aider should take steps to reassure and
comfort them.

Superb.
Now that you know the
characteristic of a good aider.
What do we need to consider to do
and don’t in first aid?
First let’s discuss the DOS
1. Do stay calm
Why first aider needs to stay
calm? Shara.
It is important that they remain calm and
composed, even is stressful and challenging
circumstances. It helps to prevent panic and
focus on the task at hand.

Wonderful, stay calm should also

remain focused. And also, for the
victim they feel secure and
comfortable to you.

Next, let’s move on to DO check for

medical bracelet indicating a
condition, such as epilepsy or
diabetes.
Why do you think medical bracelet
is important for victim and also for
first aider?
Yes Arlyn. This is for the victim if they wearing a
medical bracelet. Medical bracelet is form
of identification that can provide critical
information about the victim. This
information can be essential for the first
aider to provide appropriate care and
support the victim.

How about if the victim is not

wearing a medical bracelet?
Yes Lovely?
The first aider should still take steps to
gather as much information as possible
about their medical history and any pre-
existing conditions or allergies they may
have. This can include asking the victim or
any bystanders if they have any medical
conditions or allergies or checking for any
modification or medical equipment that may
indicate a specific condition.

Nice answer.
Next is Do loosen any tight
clothing.
Why should we need to loosen
any tight clothing?
Spin the wheel (number 10)
Yes Iyen.
The victim may become unconscious or
have difficulty breathing and tight clothing
can make it harder for them to breathe or for
the first aider to assess their condition.

Very good, for them to breathe

again properly we need to loosen
any tight even the bra of girls the
pants you need to unbutton of
these okay.

Yes ma’am.

Let’s discuss now about the

Don’ts
1. Do not give food and drink
to an unconscious person?
Why?
Yes Jackson.

The victim may become unconscious due to

injury, illness or trauma and may not able to
swallow or control their airway. And if we
giving them food and drink can cause
choking or aspiration, which can lead to
further complication or even death.
Exactly. Instead of giving
them food or drink to
unconscious person, the first
aider should focus on
maintaining their airway and
providing appropriate care
and support while waiting for
medical assistance to arrive.
They should also monitor the
victim’s condition and also
be prepared to perform CPR
or other lifesaving measures
if necessary.
And last

2. Don’t move an injured

person unless you need to
place him/her in the recovery
position.
Why we don’t need to move
on injured person?
Yes Jumel
Because moving injured person can cause
further damage and make their condition
work, especially if they have a suspect head,
neck or spinal injury.

Yes, the head, neck or spinal

cord is the most dangerous,
so if we move it, the victim’s
situation might get worse.

D. Generalization
Okay class, can anyone wrap up our
topic for today?
Yes Eva.

Basically, first aid provides immediate care

to a person who has been injured or illness.
And we can perform first aid by being
responsible and alert and being gentle to
avoid causing additional pain.
Incredible.
Yes Jiah.
And also, being resourceful you can help
the victim to survive and relieve pain.

Excellent.
Who else?
Shela Being first aider ensure the safety of the
victim and to be careful and alert in order
for the victim not to get pain.

amazing
just like Jumel and Shela said we
need to be alert at any time and
being gentle if we help the victim
and why is it important in our life?
Yes Gabi

It is important because it is essential in life.

And we also know what to do when we
encounter an accident.

Yes, it is important to know the

essence of first aid, for us to survive
and help because we can’t avoid
accident. Remember always this line
