COURSE DESCRIPTION
The aim of this course is to provide you with an introduction to the valuation of fixed income securities
and the management of fixed income investment portfolios. The topics include fixed income agents,
securities, and market, bond yield and pricing, bond price volatilities, term structure of interest rates, bond
valuation, interest rate models, management of fixed income investment portfolios, and interest rate
swaps.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the course is to give students an operational knowledge of fixed income
instruments. By the end of the course, students are expected to know how to price complex fixed income
securities, understand their risk, and manage portfolios of bonds.

COURSE POLICIES
There will be an assignment due in Canvas every week. There is no extension for assignments. Final
Exam is closed book. Make up exams are super challenging. You will need a calculator. A financial
calculator (TI BA II Plus) is strongly advised.
