Responsibilities
Billing
Processing the recovery of all telephone invoices that are due for mission-
related business and recovery of costs for private use.
Reporting to the Unit Supervisor on all pending and processed invoice
transactions.
Liaising with Finance Section on telephone charges to be recovered from
staff and timely payment of provider’s invoices.
Liaising with officials from the Services Providers, UN agencies and funds
and staff members in connection with telephone related matters ensuring
they are in compliance with standing instructions and procedures to avoid
abuse of telephone system.
Preparing business-related memoranda and facsimile correspondence in
respond to queries from Telephone Service Providers companies, Internet
providers and staff members.
Maintaining comprehensive filing system of invoices, statements and
correspondence for all telephone systems, including issue and return
vouchers for mobile and satellite SIM cards.
Assets
Assisting in the receiving, inspecting and verification of all incoming ICT

radio link for the UNMIS regional offices
Installed and commissioned SCPC Vsat network for the UNMIS
regional offices.
Supervised a team of 10 national individual contractors to set up a
network infrastructure (trunking) and laying of fibre optic cable to link
up UNMIS regional offices.
Successfully installed and tested 24 Sites with broadband global
area network (BGAN) for UNMIS referenda support bases (RSB)
Offices in Southern Sudan referendum election.
Successfully installed and tested 24 Sites with VHF/HF radio base

Responsibilies
Responsible in providing Special Communications Equipment such as Fax
Machines, RBGAN (Data Communication), Thuraya Phone (Voice Com-
munication) and PA Systems.
Responsible for installation of VHF, UHF and HF Mobile, base stations
and repeaters, rural telephone links, trunking radio systems, antennas and
related equipment.
Programming of radios, preventive and corrective maintenance on various
types of radios.
Assist in the erection of antenna masts and install antennas.
Setting up VSAT links (FDMA/SCPC, TDM/TDMA and DVB), VPN links
and wireless communications terminals according to the correct procedure
and required standards.
Carrying out periodic and corrective maintenance of VSAT terminals and
other telecommunication equipments for UNMIS regional offices.
Leading the installation and operation of video-teleconferencing (VTC)
equipment connecting over satellite.
