Company Male Male Clerks Female Female

Officers Officers Clerks
A 144 336 80 240
B 91 364 98 147
C 270 405 165 660
D 75 675 25 225
E 196 364 252 588
TOTAL 776 2144 620 1860
Q.1) c
For Company B,
Let, the total number of employees in the company be 100%
There are 35% females out total number of employees in the company,
so males will be remaining 65%.

So, difference between 65% and 35% = 210

30% = 210
1% = 7
100% = 700

Total Males = 65% of 700 = 455

Officers = 20% of 455 = 91
Clerks = 80% of 455 = 364

Total Females = 35% of 700 = 245

Officers = 40% of 245 = 98
Clerks = 60% of 245 = 147
For Company E,
Let, the total number of employees in the company be 100%
There are 60% females out total number of employees in the company, so
males will be remaining 40%.
So, difference between 60% and 40% = 280
20% = 280
1% = 14%
100% = 1400
Total Males = 40% of 1400 = 560
Officers = 35% of 560 = 196
Clerks = 65% of 560 = 364
Total Females = 60% of 1400 = 840
Officers = 30% of 840 = 252
Clerks = 70% of 840 = 588
Total number of officers (males+females) of company B = 91+98 = 189.
Total number of clerks (males+females) of company E = 364+588 = 952.
Hence, difference between officers of company B and clerks of company E
= 952-189 = 763.
Q.2) b
For Company A,
Let, the total number of employees in the company be 100%
There are 40% females out total number of employees in the
company, so males will be remaining 60%.

So, difference between 60% and 40% = 160

20% = 160
1% = 8
100% = 800

Total Males = 60% of 800 = 480

Officers = 30% of 480 = 144
Clerks = 70% of 480 = 336

Total Females = 40% of 800 = 320

Officers = 25% of 320 = 80
Clerks = 75% of 320 = 240
For Company D,
Let, the total number of employees in the company be 100%
There are 25% females out total number of employees in the
company, so males will be remaining 75%.
So, difference between 75% and 25% = 500
50% = 500
1% = 10
100% = 1000
Total Males = 75% of 1000 = 750
Officers = 10% of 750 = 75
Clerks = 90% of 750 = 675
Total Females = 25% of 1000 = 250
Officers = 10% of 250 = 25
Clerks = 90% of 250 = 225

Hence, Female Clerks in company A = 240, whereas Male Officers in

company D = 75

Required % = {(240∕75)×100} = 320%.

Q.3) e
In Company A, D and E, number of female clerks are
more than the number of male officers.

Company Male Male Female Female

Officers Clerks Officers Clerks

A 144 336 80 240

B 91 364 98 147
C 270 405 165 660
D 75 675 25 225
E 196 364 252 588
TOTAL 776 2144 620 1860
Q.4) d
For Company C,
Let, the total number of employees in the company be 100%
There are 55% females out total number of employees in the
company, so males will be remaining 45%.
So, difference between 55% and 45% = 150
10% = 150
1% = 15
100% = 1500
Total Males = 45% of 1500 = 675
Officers = 40% of 675 = 270
Clerks = 60% of 750 = 405
Total Females = 55% of 1500 = 825
Officers = 20% of 825 = 165
Clerks = 80% of 250 = 660

Female Clerks in company B = 147 (Refer Q.No. 1)

Hence, Required Ratio = 270:147 = 90:49.

Q.5) b
Total Number of Female Officers = 620
Total Number of Male Clerks = 2144
Average of Female Officers = 620/5
Average of Male Clerks = 2144/5
Hence, Required Sum = 2764/5 = 552.8 ~ 552.
