Title of the Paper Centered Bold and Title Case

Repeat the title of your paper, centered, in bold print and in title case at the top of page 2

(do not repeat it on the other pages). Begin your paragraph with an indent, and then type the rest

of the lines in in line with the margin. Please make sure that you cite correctly in-text. If you are

narratively citing from the work of one author, use for example, Levitt (2020). If you are citing

parenthetically from the work of one author, use, for example, (Levitt, 2020). If you are citing

narratively from a work by two authors, use for example, Crooks and Baur (2014) and if you are

citing parenthetically, use for example (Crooks & Baur, 2014). If you are citing from a work by

three or more authors, cite the first named, followed by “et al.” An example of a narrative

citation is Jackson et al. (2020) and an example of a parenthetical citation is (Jackson et al.,

2020). There are many examples of in-text citing available for you to refer to in chapter ten of

The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2020).

When using headings for your assignments, theses or doctoral projects, please use the

following format. Please note that for doctoral projects, you may need to use all 5 levels.

Level 1 Heading, Centered, Bold, Title Case

Text begins as a new paragraph.

Level 2 Heading, Flush Left, Bold, Title Case

Text begins as a new paragraph.

Level 3 Heading, Flush Left, Bold, Italic, Title Case

Text begins as a new paragraph.

Level 4 Heading, Indented, Bold, Title Case, Period. Text begins on the same line.

Level 5 Heading, Indented, Bold, Italic, Title Case, Period. Text begins on same line.

Start references on a clean page, put the heading in bold print and use a hanging indentation.

Continue your assignment, using indents to start a new paragraph and using heading

levels as appropriate.

When you have completed your assignment, start a clean page. Enter the word

References, centered, in bold print and in title case. Arrange your references in alphabetical order

and use the hanging indentation.
