Reorganizing Barangay Health Teams

This executive order reorganizes the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) of Barangay ______ in Naic, Cavite due to the spread of Influenza A (H1N1). The BHERT will be composed of the Punong Barangay, SB health committee chairperson, midwife, barangay health worker, barangay tanod chief, and a DepEd representative. The team will monitor people arriving from affected countries, take their temperatures daily, and report any suspected cases to the rural health unit. They will also track anyone who contacted a suspected carrier. This order takes effect immediately.

AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE


BARANGAY HEALTH EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM ( BHERT )
OF BARANGAY _______

WHEREAS, Influenza A (H1N1) has already spread to more than 70 countries in the
world including the Philippines;

WHEREAS, our national government has limited capacity to respond if ever there would
be a widespread of Influenza A (H1N1) in the country;

WHEREAS, it is a declared policy that LGUs should take measures to prevent, abort,
and/or minimize the entry and spread of diseases in their respective localities;

WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2009-090 dated June 30, 2009 enjoins all
barangay to reactivate their respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT).

WHEREAS, with the assumption to office of the newly elected barangay officials, there is
a need to reorganize all barangay special bodies specifically the Barangay Health Emergency
Response Team;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Hon. _________, Punong Barangay of Barangay ______, Naic,


Cavite, do hereby order that:

Section 1. COMPOSITION. The Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) of


Barangay ______, Naic, Cavite is hereby reorganized and shall be composed of the following:

Section 2. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS. The Barangay Health Emergency Response Team
(BHERT) shall have the following duties and functions:

1. Conduct visits in the home of every arriving person from Influenza A (H1N1) affected
country;

2. Take daily the temperature of the said person. If found symptoms of Influenza A
(H1N1), report immediately to Rural Health Unit.

3. List down the name of person that came in contact with the suspected Influenza A
(H1N1) carrier. Monitor the temperature of these persons.

Section 3. EFFECTIVITY. This Order shall take effect immediately.
