AREA CLEANING AND GRADING
Cleaning and grubbing for removal of rank, vegetation, shrubs, bushes, stumps,
weeds, grass including roots, debris, unusable materials, removal of average 150mm
thick top soil using manual or mechanical method and disposal of the same
including dumping to approved areas within the project site, stacking usable
materials at places shown with all leads upto 5km ariel distance) and lifts, cost of all
1 labour, plant & machinery, consumables and all other incidental charges etc., all Sqm 3,000 6 18,000
complete as per approved drawing, technical specifications and instruction of
Engineer In Charge.
NOTE:
1) Cleaning & Grubbing Item shall be operated only on specific instructions of
Owner's/ Employer's Project Manager, as and when required.
Providing, surveying, marking, boring with suitable mechanical drilling equipment
mechanically operated augur (tractor / truck mounted) for installation of Cast-in-
situ bored concrete vertical piles, through all type of soil/ weathered rock/hard rock
upto the specified depth and up to 100mm average height above finish ground
level as indicated in the drawing; using cement concrete of grade M35 with OPC
(43 Grade)/PPC conforming to IS:8112 /IS:1489 -Part 1 and 20 mm downgraded
coarse aggregate as per IS 383, embedding of steel post in concrete with desired
elevation, alignment and level, along with minimum cement content of 350
kg/cum (As per design mix cement content ranging from 400 kg to 435 kg/cum).
The water cement ratio shall not exceed 0.5 and slump shall be 130-150 mm.

Notes:-
1) Providing and placing concrete including cost of machinery & equipment,
manpower, admixture, materials and consumables including shuttering of pile above
GL, staging & scaffolding, handling & transportation, batching, mixing,
transportation of concrete, placing, vibrating to achieve compaction and curing,
etc. at all elevations as per drawing, specifications & as directed by the engineer in
charge. The relevant items deemed to include cost of admixture, staging &
scaffolding as required for safe & proper execution.
2) Cement shall be in Bidder scope and steel post shall be free issue material from
Owners Store.
3) Bidder shall ensure to procure coarse & fine aggregates from approved sources
for use in concreting.
Bidder shall get prior written approval in writing to use fine and coarse aggregates
to be brought from sources other than approved sources, as per guidelines available
in the contract document. All the costs involved in getting source approval shall be
deemed to be included in the respective rates.
4) Bidder shall arrange for approval of design mix for cement concrete (CC) works

from the Government approved accredited (NABL) laboratory. Cost of arranging
design mix and executing the works as per design mix deemed to be included in
their quoted rates.
5) The scope shall be including the placing steel post in foundation and in position
and at proper elevation in concrete pile with required alignment, level and all
essential preparatory works i.e. templates etc.
6) Vendor shall submit the Construction Methodology for Owners approval.
7) If any pile is found defective, the Contractor shall rectify/replace it at his own
expense; as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. This may include
i) Replacement of defective piles.
ii) Providing additional piles.
8) The spoil, boring mud etc. shall be disposed with in 1km radial distance.

9) No tremie method, casing pipe and bentonite slurry to be considered for
borehole drilling/ concreting. However, contractor shall consider suitable protection
measures where ever required for boring works at the locations of borehole
collapse/ loose soil strata . No additional payment for reboring at collapsing area is
envisaged.
10) Design pile capacity shall be provided by Owner; Contractor shall carryout
routine and initial pile load test based on provided capacity as per IS 2911 / as
directed by Engineer in Charge.
11) The templates shall not be removed before final setting of concrete, based on
final setting time determined as per mix design
12) Steel posts shall be transported from Owner's store including transportations,
materials, manpower, Tools & tackles, Consumables etc. all complete as per
approved Drawing, Technical Specification and instruction of Engineer In Charge.
13) The slush material from pile bore shall be collected and dispose off beyond 5km
(Ariel distance)
New Item Drilling with Auger & M35 Grade Concreteing works (Excluding Stub erection)
Providing Cast In Situ Concrete vertical piles of 350mm diameter upto 2.2 m depth
inclusive of Auger drilling, M35 Grade Concrete (Free Issue by Employer) complete

The composite Item Rate of this item is derived from the following breakup of items
per foundation:

MMS/ Tracker Stub Erection & load test shall be paid under separate item
Providing Cast In Situ Concrete vertical piles of 350mm diameter upto 1.5 m depth
inclusive of Auger drilling, M35 Grade Concrete (Free Issue by Employer) complete

Conducting initial load test on cast in situ bored piles as per IS 2911 Part IV
provision and erection of all kentledge, including boring and necessary supporting
system for load test including of support piles; if required, loading frame,
excavation, dewatering (if any), back filling preparing the scheme for pile testing
and pile head for conducting the load test and submission of test results etc.
including all labour, material, equipment, handling, transportation, testing etc.,
complete as per the approved scheme, drawings, specification and instructions of
the Engineer in charge for piles of following diameter & load carrying capacities of

pile foundation, Load capacity shall be provided by the owner
Note: Quoted rate shall include boring, Concrete and steel channel and Testing of
pile (pile shall be tested to failure load under saturated condition) etc. complete as
per RFC drawings, specifications and as directed by the Engineer- in-charge.
Prior approval from the owner is mandatory before proceeding to the initial pile load
tests.
Failure load can be considered as 10 T for initial load testing.

submission of methodology for pile testing to conduct the load test and submission
of test results etc. including all labour, material, equipment, handling,
transportation, testing etc., complete as per the approved methodology, drawings,

specification and instructions of the Engineer in charge for piles as mentioned in S.
No (1).
Design load carrying capacities of pile foundation, Test Load to be applied &
corresponding test piles shall be provided by the owner
Contractor shall submit the methodology for pile load testing for approval before
proceeding for the testing.
