Companies create business records of many types and store the electronic files using
an electronic records management (ERM) system. Explain why an ERM is a senior
management issue and not simply an IT issue?
ERM (Electronic Record Management) is more than simply a data technology. Although I.T may
handle and maintain ERM, top management must establish and maintain the ERM program
inside a corporation. A viable ERM system is made up of various components. Employees must
be able to access the system, it must be simple to use, and it must be versatile enough to store
documents and data that may become obsolete in the future. Managers must also ensure that the
system is cost-effective and that there is enough physical space for the equipment needed to store
the data (Sherpa, 2018).
2. Describe each of the four V’s of data analytics: variety, volume, velocity, and
veracity.
The first V in data analytics is volume. Volume refers to the amount of data generated or
acquired. The most fascinating of the four V's is variety. The type of data gathered or stored
varies. In general, there are two types of data: structured data and unstructured data. The variety
may also be categorized according to the kind of data, such as audio, video, files, forms, and so
on. The third V symbolizes truthfulness. Another phrase for the reliability or truthfulness of data
is veracity. The last V represents the velocity. The rate at which data is generated, not the rate at
which information is delivered, is defined as velocity. In data analytics, for example, the number
of Facebook postings at a given moment might be considered a metric of velocity. In data
analytics, for example, the number of Facebook postings at a particular time may be regarded as
a velocity measure (Williamson, 2018).
3. Identify the primary functions of a database and a data warehouse. Explain why
enterprises need both of these data management technologies.
A database is a comprehensive collection of connected data that is often stored in a computer and
organized for easy access. A data warehouse is a large, centralized repository of digital data
collected from several organizational units. Having said that, the database can be saved on the
hard drive of any employee's work computer and accessible only by that individual if necessary.
The data warehouse, which acts similarly to a cloud server, is where a large amount of data is
stored and made available to a large number of people. Management technologies are required
because they enable managers to store sensitive or confidential information, as well as shared

world.
