PART 2 UNIT 4 LESSON 1 ETHICAL ADVICE AND

INSTRUCTIONS [SURAH AL-AHZAB 28-35 AYAH]

1) Produce a Hadith which evidences that the PROPHET (SA) suffered with
poverty to meet the both ends of life.
Ans:- The mother of the believers AÍsha (RA) said : “We Used to see the
crescent, and then the crescent; In this way we saw three crescents in two
months and no fire [for cooking] was kindled in the houses of Allah’s
Messenger [PBUH] “ [ narrated by al Bukhari]
It is clear from the Hadith that prophet (SA) and his family was not in a luxury
but lived in poverty.
2) Allah called upon His Messenger and commanded him to give his pure
wives a choice between two options. What are those options?
An: When some of the mothers of believers requested to Prophet (PBUH) to
increase their expenditure allocation Allah commanded to give them two
options:
a) First option:- Living with him the kind of worldly life he had chosen and felt
contented with
b) second option:- to separate and obtain what they wanted of the enjoyment
of worldly life.
3) What was the response of the believers mother to the two options of
Prophet (from Allah)
An: They selected and satisfied the worldly life as led by Prophet (PBUH), even
though it was challenging with poverty.
4) Discuss and identify:-
a) ‘Islam prohibits enjoying adornment and goodies of life’
Ans:- Islam does not prohibit these in this world , but Islam insists a guide line
for entertainments of life and regulates them.
b)‘A pure wish for what Allah has in store and not being distracted from His
goal’
Ans:- Islam does not prohibit any one to be away from enjoying His blessings
and utilising what he has bestowed to mankind, but along with this man should
not distract himself from Allah and His messenger.
5) Allah wanted the views of His Prophet [PBUH] to be pure of any guilt
preserving against any kind of sin, He gave them several commands. What are
they?
a) constantly observing piety as regards Allah Almighty.
b) speaking in the kind of adornment which protect one against suspicion
stemming from ill intentioned persons of crooked thoughts.
c) staying at home and leaving only one household.
d) avoiding dazzling display
e) offering prayers and giving zakah
6) Why Allah doubled the reward or punishment of deeds of the wives of the
Prophet [PBUH] depending on whether the deeds are good to be rewarded or
bad to be punished.
Ans:- Because they are the one to be ideal and to report the rulings of the
Shari á to others.
8) Give your opinion ‘A women showing complacency in her speech’
Ans:- Misconception by the sick heart / to get respect.
9) Mention the characteristics of those who will be forgiven and Allah arranged
great rewards in the hereafter. (Ayah 35 – al ahzab)
An: They are those who believe in Allah, devote their lives to Allah, Truthful,
Patient and constant, humble themselves, give charity, Fasting, guard their
chastity and engaged more in remembering Allah always.
10) What are the qualities which organize the relationship between man and
his Lord.
Ans:- Patient, fasting, piety [‫]ﺗﻘوى‬
11. What are the qualities which organize the relationship of man with himself
Ans:- patience, love to respect himself.
12. What are the qualities which organize the relationship of man with others.
Ans:- Honesty, charity & keeping the private part & that relating to sex.
10) “…….‫……ﻟﺳﺗن ﻛﺄﺣد ﻣن اﻟﻧﺳﺎء‬.” [ “…you are not like any of the (other)
women…..”] Explain the significance of the above words of Allah.
Ans:- The Prophet’s wives [PBUH] are good examples, role models for others
and their status with Allah is great.
11) Why a high level of ethical commitment was imposed on the wives of the
Prophet [PBUH] to the exclusion of all other women?
Ans:- Because they are ideal for others.
12) Mention three of etiquette types in conversation between men and
women.
Ans:- Avoid being in soft speech by women, joking, laughing and staring at
each other.
13) What are the lessons to be learned by Muslim families from the Ayah
“…….‫……ﻟﺳﺗن ﻛﺄﺣد ﻣن اﻟﻧﺳﺎء‬.” ?
Ans:- Good cohabitation between spouses imitating the faithful mothers
14) Explain why the commands mentioned in the verse addressed to the wives
of the Prophet [PBUH] include all Muslim women?
Ans:- All Muslim women must do what the wives of prophet [PBUH] were
ordered and leave what is forbidden to them. Allah decided to teach the
coming generations of Muslims using the companions and wives of Prophet
(PBUH) till the last day.
15) What is the ruling in the following cases, with the reason;
The wife of a financially capable man requested increasing her monthly
expenditure allocation and he give her the right of choosing between two
options in compliance with the Qur’an and Sunnah { What is meant here is the
choice mentioned in the verses}
Ans:- It is not permissible for him to do that , because he is rich and Allah says
‫“[ ﻟِﯾُﻧﻔِقْ ذُو ﺳَﻌَﺔٍۢ ﻣﱢن ﺳَﻌَﺗِﮫِۦ‬TO SPEND WITH A CAPACITY OF HIS CAPACITY]
