DEMAND LETTER: FOR SETTLEMENT PURPOSES ONLY
Dear Mr. Hughes,
On March 23rd, 2023, I suffered severe injuries when the negligence of your insured, Carlos Fuentes,
caused a car accident. Your insured failed to see and obey a stop sign causing an inevitable crash with my
vehicle on the side, which evolved into a series of injuries for myself and two others that were carpooling
with me at the time of the accident.
After seeking medical care I’m aware of every injury that resulted from the crash, which include a severed
coccyx, fractured clavicle, broken tibia and ecchymosis in numerous parts of my body. Injuries that will
deliver pain and immobility for a long period of time as well as the impossibility of working for the next
three months.
On the evening of March 23rd, 2023, I was driving thru Dogwood Avenue, which has no stop signs till 98th
street, direction towards I was driving myself to, however, the streets intercepting Dogwood Avenue have
stop signs so the traffic won’t be stopped on such a busy avenue. Your insured failed to notice and comply
with the stop sign of Friar’s Street that connected with Dogwood Avenue, which resulted in his vehicle
striking my car from the side in such a violent way that my body was harmed by the seatbelt and steering
wheel. This accident was due to the lack of attention your insured was issuing, which could’ve been
avoided if only he had attentively looked at the bright colored and light sign at the right end of the street.
My passengers and myself were rushed to the emergency room because of multiple fractures and
suspicion of a concussion. The crash caused my back to suffer many injuries, including permanent damage
to my coccyx. My left clavicle and tibia were fractured and the extreme damage the steering wheel caused
to my head and chest resulted in a concussion. I have undergone back surgery and physical therapy to
regain full and normal mobility, however, I can’t go back to work because my back cannot stand such long
hours of sitting in front of a desk because of my injuries and as a consequence of taking pain medications
my supervisor and company issued a corporate letter forbidding me to have communication with
customers pointing out I was not to be trusted under such medication.
Yous insured was cited by the authorities and is evidently liable for my injuries and economic suffering. His
negligence while driving and lack of attention has caused me injuries, pain, demotion at work and
economic collapse. I hereby make a demand of $184,239.85 for my injuries, loss and pain, which are
directly related to the accident your insured has caused.
