INTRODUCTORY SPEECH FOR GUEST SPEAKER

__________, fellow criminologists, guests,ladies and gentlemen, good morning.

It is a great honor and privilege to introduce our guest speaker for this

momentous occasion. Having been in the field of law enforcement and criminal justice

education for a span of four decades, he would be a source of inspiration to our new

criminologists gathered here today.

Our guest speaker finished his BS in Criminology at the Agro Industrial

Foundation College of the Philippines in 1985. He then pursued his Master of Science in

Criminology at the University of Mindanao and graduated in 2009. Shortly after, he

obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Criminology at the Philippine College of

Criminology.

His prolific career started with being an Assistant Commandant/Staff Officer at

the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) – Regional Training Center- Davao City in

1976 until 1997. He was Training Director at PPSC RTS Marawi Annex in 1997-1998

and Regional Training Director of PPSC RTS12 in 1998-2002. He then continued to

work as Staff Officer of PPSC-Police National Training Institute (PNTI) in 2002 until his

retirement in May 2002.

With his passion and commitment to police training, he went on to serve in the

academe as Program Head of the University of Mindanao College of Criminal Justice

Education from June 2001 to May 2018, then as Assistant Dean in the same college of

UM in June 2018 to May _________.


Being competitive and hard-working, our guest speaker has earned several

eligibilites and certifications. He is a licensed criminologist, a Career Service

Professional, a Police Officer First Class, a certified Security Professional, and a

certified Security Trainer.

For his affiliations, he is the VP for Mindanao of the Professional Criminologists

Association of the Philippines; a Lifetime Member of the Professional Criminologists

Association of the Philippines; Treasurer and Member of the Board of Directors of the

Philippine Society of Criminologists and Criminal Justice Professionals; and Academic-

Sector Treasurer of the Davao City Police Office Advisory Group for Police

Transformation and Development.

Our guest speaker is Executive Officer of 2202nd Ready Reserve Infantry

Brigade of the Philippine Army from April 2018 up to present.

Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming LT COL

(Res-PA) and (Ret) P/MAJ WILLIAM AGUTAYA REVISA.
