COMMENTARY ON JESUS THE PATTERN AND YOU
Introduction
‘There is perhaps no greater challenge to the Christian than trying to comprehend both
the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ. From one perspective, He is regarded as the
Son of God who came to take on the sins of the world. And yet, He lived and'died as a
man, and apparently suffered the pains and temptations of the world. Given that His
purpose was to reconcile the sins of mankind through a willing sacrifice, many have
asked, “Why the wildemess experience? Why the obviously difficult night in the Garden
of Gethsemane? Why the plaintive cry, ‘Why hast thou forsaken me?" ” ‘The presence of
these poignant moments in the life of Jesus creates the impression of a human struggling
to become rather than “just” an incarnation of God whose capabilities and destiny were
clear from the start. Of course, there are many good answers to the above questions
which are beyond the scope of this summary. However, within the scope of the
worldview presented in the Edgar Cayce readings, the humanity of Jesus takes on a
special significance. The human condition, say the readings, was a condition under
Which He, too, was laboring and trying to master for the sake of enabling Himself and all
mankind to find a way out of materiality. In order to understand why the readings adopt
this perspective on the life of Jesus, one must first review the readings’ story of the
origins and destiny of human souls.
‘The Origin of Souls
‘A thumbnail sketch (taken from the Circulating File on “Creation”) of the readings’
account of the origins of human souls is as follows: All souls were created at the same
"time," well before the incarnation of the first human in the earth. We were created
whole, as potential companions and co-creators with God. As complete beings, we were
essentially androgynous, containing within a single identity all of the attributes of both.
sexual polarities. Because we were destined to be equal with the Creator, we were of
necessity granted the power of free will, which was both our promise and our downfall
For, by exercising our wills without consideration of the higher Will, we gradually
severed ourselves from the Creator and descended into a state of separateness. This
descent coincided with the advent of man in the earth, as a physical, finite being. By
losing the awareness of our original heritage, through the misuse of our wills, we became
subject to the laws of materiality. Thus began the cycle of physical death and rebirth, to
which we are bound until we work through our mistakes and rise again to our destined
position with our Maker.
Within the context of this account of our origins and destiny, the readings regard Jesus
as the first to overcome the illusion of separation: He is the one “who has known the
whole way through” (378-42), and “the first of those that overcame death” (1152-1). He
is the “wayshower” or the pattern which we must follow to overcome our own protracted

struggle with selfishness, rebellion and death. Jesus, too, had come before, say the
readings. But His lifetime as Jesus represented the culmination of His mastery:
“.. when the Prince of Peace came into the earth for the completing of His own
development in the earth, He overcame the flesh and temptation. So He became the
first...” (1152-1)
Because Jesus was the first to overcome the world, his life becomes the pattern for our
‘own individual efforts toward mastery. In other words, in His response to human
experience, we find for the first time in the earth's history a complete demonstration of
the way of regaining our companionship with the Creator: “... there is none that
surpasses the Son of Man in His approach to human experience in the material world!”
(2897-4)
‘The Nature of the Pattern
Of course, the life of Jesus was a complex and multi-faceted portrayal of God at work
through a perfected channel. And yet, the essence of His message to us through the life
He lived and the death He died was, according to the readings, to surrender to the Father's
will: “This was the message . .. He gave when He .. . overcame; surrendering all power
unto Power itself, surrendering all will unto the will of the Father; making of self then a
channel. ..” (1152-1) Since the beginning, when we were granted the very gift that
‘would clevate us to the status of co-creators with God—the freedom of choice—we have
been unwilling to use it constructively. The readings suggest, therefore, that the
fundamental illness of mankind is the unwillingness to surrender ourselves to a Higher
will. The life of Jesus, then, demonstrates the true freedom that follows such an act of
willing surrender.
Becoming the Christ
‘The readings differentiate between Jesus and the Christ in this way: “Jesus is the man—
the activity, the mind, the relationships that He bore to others. Yea, He was mindful of
friends, He was sociable, He was loving. .. He grew faint, He grew weak—and yet
‘gained that strength that He has promised, in becoming the Christ by fulfilling and
overcoming the world! Ye are made strong... . by that power in Christ. The power, then,
is in the Christ. ‘The patter is in Jesus.” (2533-7)

IN JESUS WE HAVE THE PATTERN
2811-3 F 40 6/13/44
‘There has been a pattern indicated in the experience of man, to Whom each should go.
‘These are not old women's tales. These are men’s; these are women’s souls.
2830-2 F 52 3/10/43
For, the Creative Force made or brought into being SOULS to be equal with, and one
with, Him; even as is manifested in the Way, the Truth, the Light.
1483-1 F 27 11/23/37
For we each are not aliens but sons and daughters of the Father, and we should manifest
ourselves in such measures as to be worthy of same—even as has been shown in Him,
Jesus the man, Jesus the Christ; by the activities, by that meted to the world.
‘Though the world rejected Him oft, He gave all.
His activities then are ensamples. Hence He is the way. And these the individual sou!
must manifest.
2794-3 F 34 11/19/43
‘Thus there was prepared the way, even through Him who is now the life, the light, the
immortality, the resurrection, the way through which peace and harmony, beauty and
love, may be in the experience of each and every soul that seeks and acknowledges Him
as thy Lord, as thy Savior.
2879-1 M 60 1/11/43
He, that Christ-Consciousness, is that first spoken of in the beginning when God said,
"Let there be light, and there was light." And that is the light manifested in the Christ.
First it became physically conscious in Adam. And as in Adam we all die, so in the last
Adam—Jesus, becoming the Christ—we are all made alive. Not unto that as of one,
then, For we each meet our own selves, even as He; though this did not become possible,
practical in a world experience, until He, Jesus, became the Christ and made the way.

not merely the subject of the book, He is the author in the greater part, having given to
‘man the mind and the purpose for its having been put in print. For it is in Him ye live
and move and have thy being and as He gave, "Search ye the scriptures, for they be they
that testify of me, and in them ye THINK ye have eternal life."
If ye know Him, ye know that in Him ye have eternal life. For He is the beginning and
the end of all things. -

there is NONE that surpasses the Son of Man in His approach to HUMAN experience
in the material world!

..-There is set an example, and by THAT example should one ever measure one's efforts
as related to God or man; for He, being both God AND man, CAN be TRULY the
example for men to pattern THEIR activities, their going in, their coming out.
1089-7 M 22 6/17/37
In Jesus, who became the Christ, you have a pattern, you have an example. Study then
to show yourself approved unto that standard. Know that His promises to man, as to his
relationships to things in the earth, to things about the individual, to his Maker, to the
heavenly Father, are true. For as He gave, "Though the heavens and the earth may pass
away, my word shall NOT pass away—but shall be FULFILLED EVERY WHIT!"
5276-1 F 56 6/17/44
‘And He, my friend, is the pattern. He is thy brother, He is thy Lord. In Him ye live and
move and have thy being.

..._Jesus] becomes then as the elder brother to all who are BORN in the earth, as the
maker, as the creator, as the first, as the last; as the beginning, as the end of man's soul's
experience through the earth and throughout the spheres of consciousness in and about
the earth.
Thus is He the only begotten, the firstborn, the first to know flesh, the first to purify it.

‘And as we find manifested in the very life of Him who is the way, it is a part of that
consciousness to which all aspire to attain, and in and through which all may receive that
which is the harmony and peace and life and health, - and the manner of expression as
was in HIS body. It bled, it suffered, it showed not only the water and the blood as would
gush forth but showed to man how that in the material world he is subject to material
Taws, even though DIVINE in its essence, its abilities.
1152-1 F 60 4/20/36
But when the Prince of Peace came into the earth for the completing of His OWN
development in the earth, HE overcame the flesh AND temptation. So He became the
first of those that overcame death in the body, enabling Him to so illuminate, to so
revivify that body as to take it up again, even when those fluids of the body had been
drained away by the nail holes in His hand and by the spear piercing His side.
Yet this body, this entity, TOO, may do these things; through those promises that were
so new yet so old, as given by Him. "Not of myself do I these things,” saith He, "but God,
the Father that worketh in me; for I COME from Him, I go to Him."
HE came, the Master, in flesh and blood, even as thou didst come in flesh and blood.
Yet as He then proclaimed to thee, there is a cleansing of the body, of the flesh, of the
blood, in such measures that it may become illumined with power from on high; that is
WITHIN thine own body to WILL! "Thy will, O God; not mine, but Thine, be done in
me, through me."
This was the message as He gave when He, too, overcame; surrendering all power unto
Power itself, surrendering all will unto the will of the Father; making of self then a
channel through which others taking hope through the knowledge that He hath perfected
‘Himself, may bring to thee that grace, that mercy, that is eternity with Him and in Him.
2600-2 F 62 10/8/41
Remember rather the pattern as was manifested for thee in the Son; how that though He
were the Son, yet learned He obedience through the things which He suffered.
He used, then, that which was necessary in the experience in the earth as periods of
suffering, as periods of rejection, even by His own that He had called, that were Hiis
friends; not as stumblingstones but as steppingstones to make for thee, for the world, that
access for each soul, for the closer relationship of the Father, through the Son, to the
children of men.

and the truth and the light which was manifested in the Master, one will find that His
manner, His approach, is and was a practical, everyday experience, but with definite
pronouncements in purposes and ideals.
1293-1 F 39 11/17/36 -
For He manifested in flesh that the evil forces, as manifest in the relationships of
individuals as one to another, may be eradicated from the experiences of man.
2829-1 F 20 10/19/42
Hold fast to that which is the order and the representative of the Cross, Jesus the Christ.
His ideals, His purposes, His promises may be thine,
3395-2 F 63 1/15/44
In the urges, then keep in that way ever of being a channel through which the greater
amount of good may come to all, being - as the Master Himself - all things to all people;
tempted in all points like each soul and yet without offense to any.
This is as the Master lived. This is as He asked that we live. And as He gave, "The
things I do ye may do, for I go to the Father, and what ye ask in my name, that I will do.”
1608-1 F 35 6/4/38
For as He is the law, as He is the way, He is so through those abilities to know Himself
to be Himself and to offer Himself as a friend, as a brother, as a savior. This is what is
meant by the way, the water, the bread, the vine.
1610-2 M 34 6/29/38
Whether in the mental, the physical or the spiritual, have an ideal; and not be merely
idealistic. Be true, be consistent. And O that all might know that consistency is indeed a
jewel in the experiences of any! Never ask of others that ye do not do yourself. Never
require of others that ye do not practice in thy own experience.
‘These are the natural laws of Him that IS the light, the way, the truth, the understanding
- whose purposes ye may indeed know. For they are part of the experiences of each and
every soul that has entered or does enter through the material sojourns for manifestations

...Keep ever, then, in the mind, in the purpose, in the soul of the entity this: That there
must be the response to that within from that without self. The spirit of the law of love,
not the outward expression of same but the spirit of the law, as interpreted in the life, in
the manner in which He met those day by day. Not that any individual may force
another, then. For, God Himself forces no individual to seek Him, save by the natural
law. It must be free will, that which was given as the birthright to man, as that which the
entity here has applied, may apply; the true law of love, not of self, but of Him who.
giveth all things to all men.
1747-5 F 37 6/20/42
And thou art thy brother's keeper. Not that ye should impose or impel another entity by
thine own ideas, any more than God impels thee. For, He hath given thee the free will,
the birthright; which is as the mind, that makes for the alterations. Hence ye may give
expression even as He did, who came into the earth that we through Him might have
eternal life.
1796-1 M 14 1/20/39
Hence there are laws immutable, unchanging. These are of spiritual import, yet are
applicable in the experience of each entity in its dealings with its fellow man. That ye
sow, that ye reap. As ye do unto thy fellow man, even the lowest in thine estimation, so
ye do unto thy Maker. For the imprint, the soul, the spirit of each entity is a part of that
great whole, that "I AM" by which the individual ego would seek to pattern itself.
Hence there must be in the experience of each entity an IDEAL: not merely ideas but
an ideal of a spiritual import; and that ideal ye may find, ye will find, within thine inner
self - as is shown in Him who is the way, the truth and the light.
The image of Him is within thine own self, if ye will but open thy heart, thy mind, thy
conscience to the indwelling of that force, of that promise which is thine own - if ye will
but embrace same.
In those abilities of thy mental and material self, then, pattern same after His manner of
expressing same before His fellow man. For ye are indeed the fellow traveler with Him.
3350-1 F 55 11/5/43
Thus the pattern ever should be not merely the tenets instigated, manifested, that were
ever a part of the manifestation of the man Jesus, but as demonstrated and taught by the
Christ and His associates and followers in the earth. Sow ever seeds of the spirit of truth.
For each entity, each soul is responsible for that place where it is. Then let thy light so
shine as to be ever as a light unto those who sit in darkness.

..(Q) How can I develop to the fullest my potentiality?
(A) In following those things indicated. First, analyze and study the characters
indicated - Moses as the Iawgiver, Joshua as the leader. These are the basic principles of
all material law. And these applied in the mind and body of Jesus became the way. Do
thou likewise.
5231-1 F 64 6/5/44
It is never beyond the arm of the Lord to say to those who will open their minds, and
hearts, and purposes and know that as ye mete out to others, ye are meting to thy Lord,
thy Savior, thy Christ. Even as He meteth out to others good for evil; even as He gave
cheer, comfort, yea, life itself to those who would take His life.
683-2 F 43 4/19/35
...For each entity, each soul, passes through that realm of experience in the material
‘world that was shown by Him.
Then, ye ask, how, in what manner, in what way is there any benefit to the material
individual, the spiritual seeking, the soul's longings in that particular life, that particular
experience, that particular manner of death in that man’?
That as is promised in Him, "I go to the Father that ye abiding in me (or the manner)
may have an advocate with the Father.” That YE may as from the beginning approach
the throne of grace, the throne of mercy, the access to the first cause. And not through
any material soul seeking its way but Him that has from the first abided in the Father.
Hence as each soul seeks in this material world through all those conditions, all those
environs, all those things that so easily beset the mental mind, the camal forces, the
supply of the material force - as is in exchange for the conditions about each body, each
mind for its expression - is supplied in Him. For He is the tree of life; He is the water of
life; He is the bread of life; He is that in which each soul may - in its expressions of that
He was. He is, he ever will be, in its associations with its fellow man - what He is, was,
and ever has been; Peace, Harmony, Glory, JOY, Understanding, For these find their
expressions, their attributes in that one does respecting the fellow man. Not sacrifice; for
His sacrifice was in faith, that it may be counted to thee as righteousness. Not making for
sadness in the sorrow of thine own undoing. For rather has this been expressed that ye in
thine inner self may find that peace, that harmony in Him, as ye go about doing; not
withdrawing within thine self, as ye go doing; not waiting, not sitting still. For he that
doeth the will IS the will, and becomes one - through Him - in His promises - with The
Creative Forces; and a channel, as He is a channel. Others may find that commandment
He gave as new ever, to each soul that seeks, "Love ye one another," in such manners that
ye prefer even those that would speak evil of thee above thyself, even he that would do
thee harm, even he that would speak unkindly, unjustly; ye prefer them and their
approach to that throne above thine self. This is the manner. This is the way, His way.

For He IS the way, the truth and the light. In Him is no darkness at all. And if ye would
‘know the light, then hold fast to that thou hast seen and may see in thy kindnesses to thy
fellow man; thy gentlenesses, thy brotherly love, thy long-suffering. These make for
those fruits that bear in Him the burden of the world. And as ye give expressions of same
in thy ministry to thy fellow man, each atom of thyself not only becomes illumined to
that strength that ye may impart to the weakened members of a body, but illumining thine
own inner self that ye may in so doing also impart to the minds of a such that trust, that
faith, that hope in Him; such as to renew that mental force that becomes, with the soul of
such, awakened in such measures as to make their portion of the divine in themselves to
become like unto the green bay tree, or as the hart upon the mountain as it springs in its
youth in spring. For the heart is gladdened by that light in Him. So may ye find thy
ministry in the earth fulfilling that as may be brought to thine own understanding, For
He, thy father, thy God, knoweth what ye have need of. And from the abundance of His
storehouse doth He supply thy every need. From whence cometh such? As ye measure
to thy fellow man, so will it be measured to thee, and HE putteth it into the hearts of
those that ye serve the ABUNDANCE of thy material successes, of thy necessities of the
body, of the mind, of the material things in an experience. For thou in so doing putteth
thy life, thy portion of Him, into His own keeping. For ye measure same as HE would
measure. And this brings of itself its own reward. For He hath not willed that any soul
should see sadness, darkness, nor be troubled ANY at all! But ye in trampling upon His
ove, His mercy to those about thee, create (as thou art the portion of Him) those barriers
over which ye stumble and fall. But as ye clear the way for thy fellow man so dost
THOU have the clear path that leads to the greater understanding.

As indicated, - study to show thyself approved unto God. Analyze these portions of
what is known as the Scripture: Deuteronomy 30, the whole of the chapter, especially that
admonition of Moses as he summed up the life of man. And then the 14th, 15th, 16th and
17th of John, as to how the man of Galilee, Jesus, that became the Christ, instigated the
life that may be lived within, in the application to others; and upon Whom each soul must
rely for guidance in making the choice of those promptings that arise in the heart and
mind.
DO use thy MIND. Be not afraid, for He will be thy guide, if ye seek His face.
‘Walk in the light, then, even as He is in the light.
In those fields of healing, through the mental ability of the POWER of the Christ, - not
of thyself, but of the Christ as He may manifest in thee, - ye may accomplish much.
Let not thy heart be troubled, neither be afraid.

Father-God to man, to His creation, and how that there would come into the world, into
the experience of man, the spirit, the mind of God.
Hence as one reads or sees the interpretations of these in the life of Jesus of Nazareth,
who became the Christ, the Savior, through fulfilling those purposes, one realizes that
indeed He has become the way, the truth and the light.
‘Thus the individual entity finds that the body, or that first creation of God, the mind, is
the way; or the way through which light may come to the entity of the Father. For, as are
the pronouncements in the law by Moses, "Today there is set before thee good and evil,
life and death. And say not who will descend from heaven to bring a message, or who
may come from over the sea, for Lo, it is within thine own heart."
‘And how WELL this is completed in that promise, that pronouncement, that admonition
given by Him as He led the way to fulfill in the garden and on the Cross the law itself, -
to demonstrate that separation from God might indeed be broken away forever. As He
gave, "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I
{g0 to prepare a place, that where I am, there ye may be also.”
“Thus we see the relationship each soul bears to the Father, as to the way, the Christ, - by
wholly trusting in Him day by day. As He said, "I stand continually at the door of thy
heart. Open and I will enter.”
How do ye open? Through searching, seeking, humbling thyself before the throne of
grace and mercy, as was manifested in Him; acknowledging Him as thy Lord, thy Master,
yea thy elder brother.
He has given also, "If ye open I will come and abide with thee."
This, then, is the manner, the way, the truth, the light, through which this entity may
find its true relationships to the Creative Forces.

vibrations,
Tam not ill in any way, having a constitution and physical strength far above the average
of very much younger men, However I would be very much interested in having you give
me a Mental and Spiritual reading. There are some things in all our lives that it is
difficult to understand from any rational point of view. It is for that reason that I am
sending you an application for a Mental and Spiritual reading.
My experience in these matters is that when guidance is invoked that one must take what
is given and that any effort to force results or even to ask direct questions is apt to lead to
confusion.
‘You are dealing with one who is totally in sympathy with the work you are doing. It
always seems to me that such contacts come nearer to real religion and faith than much.
that Theology, as a study tries to teach.
My cheque is enclosed to the order of the association as suggested. There is only one
matter that I would like to have clear and that is I do not want any reading filed for public
perusal under my name and address.
If filed under a number or other symbol I have no objection. I think you will readily
understand why I make this request."

READING
Time of Reading 3:40 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.
1.GC: You will have before you the entity (2879), ..., N.Y.C., who seeks a Mental and
Spiritual Reading with information, advice and guidance that will fit his particular needs
for soul development at this time; clarifying the things in his life which are difficult to
understand from any rational point of view.
2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, [2879].
3. In giving for this entity a mental and spiritual reading, itis well that the premise be
given from which such information is drawn.
4, We accept the fact that there is the one God and that Jesus the Christ is His manifested
messenger in the earth; and that the gift of the Holy Spirit by and through the Christ is
ever to be the comforter to those who seek to know the Lord, the Father-God, through
Him.
5. Through the revelations of holy men, - as recorded in the Bible, - there have been those
things oft in man’s experience that have caused some confusion, in man’s attempt to apply
such precepts as indicated there in the daily relationships.

16JESUS THE PATTERN AND YOU CIRCULATING FILE
6. We find that such confusions arise primarily from man’s inability to coordinate in his
personal experience those precepts that are related to the various phases of man’s
consciousness in the material plane.
7. Man finds himself a body, a mind, a soul. ‘The body is self-evident. The mind also is
at times understood. The soul or the spiritual portion is hoped for, and one may only
discern same from a spiritual consciousness.
8. The body, the mind and the soul are as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, - just as
infinity in its expression to the finite mind is expressed in time, space and patience. These
are exercised in the consciousness, and yet only the spiritually discerning may interpret.
SPIRITUALLY there becomes no time or space, for they - like the Father - are one, But
in man’s application they become as one, in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
9. Thus in man’s interpretation of God's revelation to man through the written word, there
becomes confusion at times, and it does not always seem to fit or coordinate from a
rational point of reasoning.
10. Yet man discerns, as within himself, that his body has its attributes, its functionings,
its phases of expression. It grows in physical, in the mental, and in its ability of spiritual
discernment, through the application of the truths, the tenets, the laws of the spirit, of the
mind, and of the body.
11. There may be, then, definite interpretation. These are not all the laws, to be sure.
For, as the body, there are many organs, many functionings. Yet if there is a coordination
of these, there is the physical, mental and spiritual discernment of that the body-entity
experiences.
12. In the discerning, then, of the laws, - these become one in Him. The first is then as
He gave, - "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy body, thy mind, thy soul; thy
neighbor as thyself." This, then, is all-inclusive, yet may be better discerned in the study
and the application of the tenets set in the thirtieth (30th) of Deuteronomy by the
lawgiver in his admonition, in his summing up of the laws, the ordinances that had been
indicated for a peculiar people, set aside for a purpose - as a channel through which there
might be the discerning of the spirit made manifest in flesh.
13, Hence it is reminding man that today, now, every day, there is set before him good
and evil, life and death. Man does not find other than that answer outside himself as
expressed in that spiritual discernment, "My spirit beareth witness with thy spirit.”
14, Thus, as the lawgiver interpreted, "Lo, He is within thee." Man's discerning of that he
would worship, then, is within self; how that he, the individual entity, makes manifest in
his dealings daily with his fellow men that God is, and that the individual entity is - in
body, in mind, in soul - a witness of such; and thus he loveth, he treateth his brother as
himself.
15. Such an admonition has in man’s interpretation oft put God, the mighty, the Lord, as
far away. And yet he recognizes, if he accepts this admonition of the lawgiver, that He is
within self.
16. This is more clearly demonstrated and interpreted in the words of the Master himself,
In my Father's house are many mansions - " - many consciousnesses, many stages of
enfoldment, of unfoldment, of blessings, of sources. And yet God has not willed that any
soul should perish, but has with every temptation, every trial, prepared a way of escape -
or a way to meet same; which is indicated here by the Creator, the Maker of heaven and
earth and all that in them be.

aeJESUS THE PATTERN AND YOU CIRCULATING FILE
17. Thus as He declares, "Behold I stand continuously before the door of thy
consciousness, of thine own mansion. For thy body is indeed the temple of the living
God." And there He has promised to meet thee. There ye make ready. There ye
entertain. There ye meditate upon those influences, those choices ye make day by day.
18. He, that Christ-Consciousness, is that first spoken of in the beginning when God said,
"Let there be light, and there was light.” And that is the light manifested in the Christ.
First it became physically conscious in Adam. And as in Adam we all die, so in the last
‘Adam - Jesus, becoming the Christ - we are all made alive, Not unto that as of one, then.
For we each meet our own selves, even as He; though this did not become possible,
practical in a world experience, until He, Jesus, became the Christ and made the way.
19. Thus He became the first of those that within self arose to righteousness. ‘Thus may
wwe, as individuals, - as we apply ourselves, - become aware of that abiding presence as
He promised, - yea, as He maintained, - "If I go away I will send the spirit of truth, the
spirit of righteousness, and he shall ABIDE with you. And I and the Father will come."
20, Seek ye then to walk with Him. That peace He giveth thee. Not as the world knoweth
peace, but as His peace that openeth the door of understanding, of comprehension, of
how God maketh peace with man through the law of love. For He IS law. He is love.
He taketh away not the law, but manifesteth love in that He fulfilled the law, in that He
gave Himself for that edict, "In the day ye eat thereof, ye shall surely die."
21. Yet in the day that ye accept Him as thy sacrifice and LIVE thyself according to His
precepts, YE become reconciled - through Him - to the Father, and He - too - walketh and
talketh with thee.
22. Study, then, to show thyself approved unto that as thy ideal,
23. As to the choices ye make, - remember, as He gave, "Who made me a judge of my
brother? Who is my brother? He that doeth the will of the Father.”
24. What is the will? "Love one another, even as Ihave loved you."
25. We are through for the present.

OUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE PATTERN
3357-2 F 50 11/17/43
One finds self a body, a mind, a soul; each with its own attributes and its activity in the
earth. An entity, then, is a pattern of that which is also a spiritual fact; Father, Son, Holy
Spirit. These are one, just as an individual entity is one. An entity, then, is the pattern of
