The setting for the delay time has to be made in accordance with the grading plan of the HV network. Information is
necessary from the customer in order to allow correct setting of this parameter.
The Undervoltage seal-in is set below the lowest line-to-line voltage that occur during normal operation, e.g.
U<=80% UN sec. The holding time of seal-in must be longer than the backup time plus circuit breaker opening
time. The frequency of the measured quantities is continuously measured and used for adjusting of the actual
sampling frequency. This ensures that the protection and measurement functions produce correct results over a
wide frequency range. This ensures measuring accuracy in the frequency range from 11 Hz to 69 Hz.
The sampling frequency adjustment can, however, operate only when at least one a. c. measured quantity is
present at one of the analogue inputs, with amplitude of at least 5% of rated value.

Four high-accuracy frequency stages are available. Each stage can be set as over-frequency stage or under-
frequency stage. This is determined by the rated frequency as configured under address 270 and the set limit value.
When the limit value is set smaller than the rated frequency, the stage operates as under-frequency stage. When the
limit value in set equal to the rated frequency, the concerned stage is ineffective.
The frequency protection function is acting as back up protection to the turbine speed monitoring protection. As a

The factor U/ f is given as quotient from voltage and frequency. Both values are related to nominal values.
The over excitation function of the 7UT633 devices –F12 will be used to protect the generator transformer against
over excitation. Therefore, the settings are based on the generator transformer over excitation curve provided by the

2. Settings for Sensitive Ground Fault Over-current Protection – address block 3100
The current elements for ground faults operate with the magnitude of the ground current. They only make sense
where the magnitude of the ground current can be used to specify the ground fault. This may be the case on
grounded systems (solid or low resistance) . Ground current protection is mostly used as backup protection for
high resistance ground faults in solid or low resistance grounded systems when main fault protection system does
not pickup.
The values of the settings are a reason about the Grounding resistance between the transformer star point and earth.
