En5 Charms of Whitby

Whitby is a small seaside town in England that holds a special place in the author's heart. Though smaller than the nearby town of Scarborough, Whitby has its own unique charms including majestic cliffs, a pretty harbor, and beaches containing fossils from when the area was covered by a sea millions of years ago. The town has also embraced its connection to Bram Stoker's Dracula, with guided walks retracing scenes from the novel and festivals held in honor of Stoker and gothic horror. A beloved tradition is eating fish and chips by the harbor, standing in the rain with salt and vinegar. These elements make Whitby a town worth visiting for its natural beauty and literary history.
