COPING UP WITH STRONG EMOTIONS

Emotions? Huh, you might’ve heard of this word before, some of us might have experienced it
before, so let us ask ourselves one last time that what exactly are emotions? Is it the feeling of
sorrow and dejection or is it the feeling of joy and cheerfulness, well if I were to describe emotions
in a simple definition it would be that emotions are the mental reactions or feelings a person faces in
his/her day-to-day life. But what about strong emotions, what can you understand by strong
emotions? Here we can say that strong emotions are strong feelings of grief, sorrow or any other
mental disturbances. This distress is very common in people ageing from 11 to 29 yrs. because it is
hard to face such strong emotions due to lack of confidence and willpower, these people succumb to
these emotions and get trapped in a severe psychiatric disorder commonly known as ‘depression’.

Depression is mainly due to negative thoughts and overthinking on them, this issue mainly occurs in
people due to social anxiety and lack of confidence or in many ways due to peer pressure, because
sometimes due to peer pressure we do things which may seem like a no-brainer but due to the fear
of missing out of such crowds’ people tend to do things which may lead to horrifying results.
Teenagers usually become the main victims of depression because of the hardships they face
in their academic as well as social life.

But as we know every problem has a solution, preventing depression is not that big of a deal, there
are just some few things which can guide you a safe path from the clutches of depression. First of all,
having a positive attitude towards life can be great as it avoids depression and boosts your
personality as well, try to avoid peer pressure as much as you can, boost your confidence and take a
stand for something or some moral values and remember that if you stand for nothing you are most
likely to fall for anything , do not overthink on negative thoughts , this one is inevitable but just try
not to get into fights as during a fight your brain loses its ability to think critically because as the
body prepares for combat so the blood is taken from our brain and is shifted to our muscles and so
our brain does not think clearly. This one is extra but I’m pretty sure that it can help you out, people
often copy the bad things or habits of others , many of us do and even me , this is the normal human
nature , so remember to extract only the positive things and learn from them and do not to copy the
negative things out a person’s character.

Well now I would like to conclude my article with one last thought

“YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU WANT TO GROW UP TO BE , WHOEVER THAT
PERSON IS , IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD”
