Introduction
Collecting vibration data for the Johnson Controls Predictive Diagnostics Team requires the use of two software
packages: Route Transfer and SKF @ptitude Analyst Thin Client Transfer (TCT for short). Other software packages must
also be installed on the machine as prerequisites for Route Transfer and TCT. Luckily, all of the required software is
bundled together into one installation package. This guide is a step by step walkthrough on how to successfully install
the software from the package.
For information on how to use the applications, see the guide entitled Software User Guide. It can be downloaded from
the Predictive Diagnostics Team website.
This guide is intended to be easy to follow. It focuses heavily on images and screenshots while minimizing verbage.
Installation
Step 1: Download Software Bundle
The first step of the installation process is to download the application bundle from the Predictive Diagnostics Team’s
website.
• Log into the JCI portal.

• Hover your mouse over “Products and Services” and click on “Sales”
• Click on the “North America” link in the “Regional/Local Content” pane.
• Under the “Offerings” column, click on “Predictive Diagnostics”
• On the left hand column, click on “Predictive Diagnostics Software” then click on the software bundle link.

• A download dialog will appear. Click “Save”.

• Select “Desktop” then click “Save”

• Step 2: Install the software.
• Go to your desktop and double click on the software package.
• Click “Yes” on the popup message.

• Follow all of the instructions that appear in the command prompt
• Depending on whether or not Java is installed, you will see one of the messages below. Make the appropriate
selection “Accept” or “No”. If “No” then proceed to the next bullet point.

• Route Transfer installs automatically. Click “OK” to acknowledge.
• Depending on whether or not the Visual C++ Redistributable is installed, you will see one of the messages below.
Make the appropriate selection “Install” or “Cancel”. If “Cancel” then proceed to the next bullet point.

• The MSXML parser installs automatically. It will either install or fail if it is already installed. Most computers will
already have this installed. If it fails, click “OK”.

• Next is SKF @ptitude Analyst Thin Client Transfer. If the application is already installed, you will see the message
on the right, otherwise you will see the message on the left. Make the appropriate selection.

1 If you do not uncheck the readme file box, the readme document will display in a web browser window. You may read it, close
it, and proceed.
• The next application is Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5. If the application is already installed, you will see the window
on the right. Otherwise you will see the window on the left. Make the appropriate selection.

• The next component to install is the SKF USB driver installer. If the driver is already installed, follow the
screenshots on the right. If it is not already installed, follow the screenshots on the left.

Once the driver installer has been installed, it will be run to install the driver.

• The final step is to click within the command prompt window to give it focus. Then press any key on the
keyboard to finish the installation.
