Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was bom in 1839 or 1840. Since his death in
1908 seventy two years will be completed in 1981. If we take
into consideration the period when he proclaimed himself as
the Promised Messiah, then a century has passed during which the
plant of Ahmadism (or Qadianiyat) was nurtured.
This movement has been checkmated by the learned doctors
of Islamic theology since its inception. However we shall in the
following lines analyse its various aspects, as briefly as possible for
those who wish to acquaint themselves with this heresy and its un-
Islamic character.
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad made numerous claims ranging from a
Mujaddid (a renewer of faith) to a "prophet". He not only called
himself the “Promised Messiah” but at the same time claimed
likeness in personality and deeds with most of the Prophets and
Messengers of Allah. The following of his claims had been
very prominent:
a) Mujaddid;
b) Mahdi;
c) Promised Messiah;
d) Prophet and Messenger.
We shall examine below the above four claims in their chronological
order and proper perspective.
9
The Truth About Ahmadism
(a) Mujaddid (renewer offaith)
During the publication of Baraheen-e-Ahmadiya (1880), Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad emerged as a defender of Islam. Four parts of this
book appeared in four years. He claimed of being a recipient of
revelation. In the year 1885 he declared himself as a Mujaddid and in
1888 he started procuring disciples1. Not unusual as previously some
venerable persons had also put forward such a claim. For example,
Jalal al-Din Suyuti (died 911 A.H.) not only compiled a list of former
Mujaddid(s) but also considered himself also a Mujaddid of the Ninth
Century.
In fact the foundation of Tajdid rests on the following
tradition of the Prophet M as reported by Abu Huraira and
transmitted by Abu Dawud in his collection of Ahadith. The Prophet
and Messenger of Allah said:
jj 4I1I (jl ;<J15 4_ic. <»ill <jc.
Undoubtedly Allah sends at the head of each century
one who revives religion for the entire Ummah.
How is a Mujaddid defined? Should he be recognised by his claims or
by his deeds? Obviously we will have to consider his deeds to
establish his station. It is evident that renewing means actual
cleaning of an article from dirt, dust and rust so as to make it looks as
new. During the periods people had gone astray, Allah sent his
Prophets and Messengers to renew and brighten monotheism. The
position of a Prophet in such a period was similar to that of a
founder. Although the foundation of Islam was laid by the first
Prophet of Allah on this earth but with passage of time people forgot
the real teachings and took to polytheism (shirk). So Allah in His
divine mercy sent the last of the Prophets to rejuvenate
monotheism and establish Islam in its pristine purity. The Ka'ba - the
House of Allah - which is a symbol of Monotheism erected by

/. The Truth About Ahmadism
Prophet Ibrahim & had been turned into a seat for 360 idols by the
end of the sixth century.
At this crucial time our Prophet Muhammad was entrusted
with the sacred task of purifying the House from idol-worship and re
establishing Tawheed with all its implications. That is why Tawheed
has been declared as the fundamental principle of Islam along with
Prayer, Zakat, Fasting and Hajj. The Prophet being the last Prophet
the religion was perfected and named Islam. Thereafter the scholars
of Islam were required to guard the edifice of Islam from decay and
defend it whenever any onslaught was directed against it from its
enemies and innovators. History has witnessed that in every period
there had been some religious personalities who protected the
religion from external attacks as well as internal mischief. They
confronted the greatest powers with courage, determination, iron-
will and sacrifice and changed the course of history by their deeds
and thus proved the superiority of Islam.
Some prominent personalities that appeared on the scene
during the last few centuries are referred to below:
(1) Imam Ibn Taymiyah (d. 728 A.H.) was not only a mountain of
deep understanding of religion but at the same time he was
one of those who arrayed himself in the battle against Tartars.
His pen left behind writings in refutation of Christianity,
Polytheism and innovations like those of Rawafid, Mu'tazila
and supporters of Bid'a. These writings even after six
hundred years are considered as beacon light.
(2) In the eleventh century Sheikh Mujaddid Alf Thani (1034
A.H./1625 A.D.) ignored all pressure, and brushed aside the
majestic authority of the Mughal Empire. The way he
protected the tenets of Islam and dignity of Shari’a rightly
conferred upon him the title of Mujaddid.
(3) In the twelfth century, Shah Waliyullah (1176 A.H.) in the sub
continent, infused such a love for the Book of Allah and the
traditions of the Prophet that in the year 1246 A.H. it acted
as a spur for the heroic movement of Shah Isma’il Shahid
(1246 A.H.) and Syyed Ahmad Shahid (1246 A.H.).
11
/. The Truth About Ahmadism
(4) In Arabia, in the year 1206 A.H. Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdil
Wahhab, a contemporary of the above mentioned two
martyrs, started his renowned movement against Shirk and
innovation in religion. As a result, this movement not only
established a strong Islamic state in Arabia but provided
inspiration for similar movements outside the Arabian
Peninsula like those of Sanusis in Libya and Fulanis in West
Africa.
Contrary to the above-mentioned personalities, Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad proclaimed himself both as the Promised Messiah and Mahdi
in 1891. He advertised for accepting disciples for this purpose. But in
1901 he took a big leap and declared himself as a Prophet and
Messenger of Allah and as such tried to undermine the finality of the
Prophet gg.
The following writings of Mirza should be noted in this
connection:
A. “About myself I say that God has addressed me as Messenger
and Prophet.”2
B. “The true God is one that has sent his Messenger in Qadian.”3
C. “For the present generation (Ummah) I have been chosen
and named Nabi and no one else deserves this distinction.”4
About two and a half months before his death the following
announcement was made by him in a journal which left no
ambiguity about Mirza's claim to be a Prophet.
D. “I proclaim that I am a Messenger and Prophet.”5
In view of the above claims can he be listed with other Mujaddid(s)?
His name however can be placed in the list of those who tried to
wreck the edifice of Prophethood and the finality of our Prophet

7. The Truth About Ahmadism
His claim as a prophet is as clear as day light. In none of his writings
he disclaimed and refuted it but on the other hand just before his
death he sent the following letter for publication to the editor of
newspaper "AJthbar-e-'Aam". Coincidently the letter was published in
the paper dated 26th may 1908, the day Mirza Ghulam Ahmad died:
"According to the command of God I am a prophet. I shall be a sinner
if I refuse it How can I dare to refuse it, when God calls me a
prophet? I shall remain firm on it till I leave this world."
Can his claim of being a prophet be disputed in view of the
clear contents of the above cited letter? We shall now examine his
claim of being the Mahdi.
(b) Mahdi
It is quite interesting to note that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad on one hand
rejects the authenticity of traditions about the coming of the Mahdi
but on the other hand insists that he is the Mahdi on the basis of the
said Ahadith. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad writes:
So far as the validity of the traditions in connection with
the advent of the Mahdi are concerned you know that
they are all weak and unreliable so much so that in some
books even in Ibn Majah one comes across this tradition
that there is no Mahdi but only Jesus Son of Mary (A. S)
then how can one have confidence in such weak
unreliable traditions? Even the authenticity of those
persons through whom these traditions passed is
doubtful and this fact is not hidden from compilers and
teachers of traditions.6
Although we disagree with the findings of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad yet
in the light of his disbelief in the coming of the Mahdi we fail to

included in Roohani Khaza'in, 7:314.

7. The Truth About Ahmadism
understand his claim of being the Mahdi. The claim of Mirza when
compared to other claimants of Mahdism looks absurd, as others at
least had gained some reputation by their deeds whereas Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad has nothing to his credit. For example Mohammad
Ahmad Sudani, a contemporary of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in 1885
declared himself as the Mahdi but unlike Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, he
gained prominence by successful encounter with Christians and
particularly the British Government so much so that he even
established his own government though for a limited period, all the
same he never claimed that he was a messenger or a prophet of Allah.
As opposed to this Mirza Ghulam Ahmad acted as a flatterer, a
sycophant with a beggar's bowl and left no stone unturned to gain
good will and benevolence of die British Government. Advising his
followers the Mirza Ghulam Ahmad writes:
1. "My advice to my followers is that they should consider the
British government as one of their own and truthfully obey
their orders from the core of their hearts.”7
2. “Disobedience to the British government is disobedience to
Islam, God and His Messenger 3§.”8
Further reference is unnecessary. If the word “Mahdi” (the one
guided) means receiving guidance from the British Government then
undoubtedly Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the Mahdi.
(c) Promised Messiah
With regard to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's claim as a Promised Messiah,
the doctors of Islamic theology had clearly shown that:
a) According to the Holy Quran, the Messiah (A.S.) was neither
murdered nor crucified by the Jews but God raised him up to
himself.
7 Darura al-Imam, p. 23.
8 A treatise titled as Government ki tawajju ke liya.
14
i. The Truth About Ahmadism
b) The advent of the Messiah is one of the signs of the expected
big calamity of the world. He will descend in this world again
sometimes before the Day of Doom and kill the Antichrist.
The people of the Book will become his followers. He will
preach Islam and after making it a dominant religion of the
world, he will die.
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad puts forward the following revelation of God
to prove the truth of his being the promised Messiah: “We have made
you Messiah son of Mary. We shall protect you while people will not
protect you. ”9
Mirza had also clearly confirmed that he believed in all the
traditions which refer to the descent of Messiah again in this world.
In the writing (Malfoozat) of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (ist part 1891 to
i899) a question of a person from Baraily and the answer given by the
Mirza is also recorded:
Question: "Are you the same Messiah about whom the
Messenger of God (saw) has given information in
traditions. Answer this after taking an oath of God."
Answer: "Previously too I have confirmed this in detail
on oath in my books and now again I write on oath of
God in whose possession is my life that I am the same
promised Messiah about whom the Messenger of God
(saw) has given information in traditions which are given
in Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim and other books. "Wo
kafa billahe shaheeda".

Comparison is made below of the traditions on which Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad based his claim with the actual facts of his life. None of the
signs mentioned in the authentic traditions fit the person of the
Mirza:

i. The Truth About Ahmadism
When Mirza Ghulam Ahmad realised that not a single sign was
applicable to him, he vainly tried to apply them by giving dubious
meanings with farfetched unacceptable explanations.
For further clarification we analyse only the signs that pertain
to the complete destruction of Christianity as given in Bukhari and
Muslim referred to above, i.e. breaking of cross, annihilation of swine,
abolition of Jizya and termination of all wars etc. Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad pompously declared that he would accomplish all of them.
The following is a quotation from Mirza's book called
Messiah in India:
Because the Prophet of God M had predicted that neither
the religion of the cross will decay nor there will occur
any weakness in its progress until the Promised Messiah
descends in the world and breaks the cross, so here he is
to break the cross".
Is it not a fact that neither any effort of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad during
his life nor after his death has stopped or decreased the spread of
Christianity? If only the numerical strength of Christians of the
united Punjab alone is taken into consideration it will become
evident that there had been an astonishing increase in the Christian
population. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad lived throughout his life in Punjab
and the earliest appearance of Christianity in Punjab coincides
almost with his birth. An idea can be formed from the following chart
of the numerical strength of Christians during the life of Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad and after his death in Punjab. Christian population
during the life of Mirza in 1881 was 28,054, ten years after i.e. 1891 it
was 66,591 and three years after his death i.e. 1911 it was 199,251.
It shows that within a period of thirty years there had been an
enormous increase near about two hundred thousand in the
Christian population12.

7. The Truth About Ahmadism
After the partition of India, Qadianism shifted its centre to
Rabwa (Pakistan). The numerical strength of the Christians in the
Punjab of Pakistan is as follows13:
• Christian population in the year 1951 was 403,000
• Christian population in the year 1961 was 524,770
The actual claim of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was to break the cross or
in other words to finish Christianity, therefore let us see the
population of Christians in the world14:
Catholics 580,913,300
Eastern Orthodox Church 79,463,600
Protestants 338,396,640
TOTAL 998,773>540
By writing a few books in refutation of Christianity Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad thought that he had done with Christianity but actually none
can deny that these books are no match in reasoning and learned
skill to the books written formerly by some learned doctors of
theology, for example see Al-Jawab as-Sahib Leman Baddala Din al-
Maseeh by Shaykh Ibn Taymiyah and lzhar al-Haq by Shaykh
Rahmatullah Keranwi.
(d) Prophet and Messenger
Several verses of Holy Qur'an and also traditions of Prophet throw
ample light about the finality of our Prophet In refutation of
Qadianism doctors of Islamic theology had written several books
which contain verses and traditions with full explanation but to be
concise here we only quote one verse of Holy Qur'an (Chapter Ahzab:
verse 40) and two traditions.

There will appear among my followers thirty liars who

If for a moment the contention is accepted that after our Prophet 3S
another prophet can come then the question arises as to what were
those deeds performed by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad that prompted him
to put himself in the category of prophets. On the mission of the
Promised Messiah he had been a complete failure.
In the beginning of the present century Elija Mohammad a
black American who died in 1975 declared himself a prophet but
specifically confined his prophethood for the black Americans only.
White Americans were continuously oppressing Black Americans.
Elija appeared on the scene for their salvation. There is no doubt
about it that the teaching of Elija were to a great extent opposed to
Islamic teachings but at the same time one cannot ignore this fact
23
7. The Truth About Ahmadism
that in the total Christian environment of America it was he who, for
the first time, raised the banner of Islam. In the end the movement
started by Malcolm X who died in 1965 took a turn towards the real
and correct faith of Islam. Since the death of Elija, his son Warisuddin
Mohammad has taken several steps one after the other to acquaint
his followers with real Islam which they are learning now. The
teachings and tenets of Elija are now getting dimmer every day and
his followers are now attaching themselves more and more to the last
Prophet of Islam Muhammad Elija's movement is now on the right
course of guidance and rectitude. All those followers of the
movement who have adopted the correct tenets of Islam and are
practicing them in their daily life deserve all praise.
As opposed to this Mirza Ghulam Ahmad started his
movement in that part of the globe where Islam had a long past
history and where already his contemporaries had proved their
superiority over him and distinguished themselves in writing,
compilation and political understanding. Mirza appeared on the
scene as a learned man of religion but his acumen was in search of
something where he could defeat his contemporaries. What he could
do in a better way as a learned man of religion he tried to do it by
declaring himself as a prophet. Even if an infinitesimal number of
Hindus and Christians had accepted Qadianism by his teaching there
was nothing so strange and unusual in it that could have necessitated
a declaration of prophethood. Is it not a fact that the vast majority of
Muslims in the sub-continent of India is the result of religious
preaching by the constant selfless efforts without any personal
motive of the learned religious leaders of Islam? Can anybody deny
that even at present in the continents of Africa, Europe, America and
also India non-Muslims are being converted to Islam by learned
religious leaders? If it is said that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad served Islam
through the 'revelations' then one is obliged to reveal the truth that
the pretended revelations are either the true copy of verses of Holy
Qur'an or deliberate distorted verses with addition or omission of
words here and there just to change the meaning. Here are some
examples of revelations of the Mirza:

These few revelations have been given as a sample otherwise some
self-made revelations are so absurd, non-sensical, indecent and
impolite that one cannot even expect them from a person of sound
mind, what to say of a Prophet?
Taking into consideration the views of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
with regard to Islamic faith and infidelity let us see if the number of
Muslims or infidels had increased.
During his life Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had admitted that there
was a population of 60 million Muslims in India. In one of his books
(Malfoozat) the following saying of the Mirza is recorded:
I remember and I have mentioned it also in Baraheen
Ahmadiya that there had been written and published 60
million books against Islam. It is wonderful that the
number of Muslims in India and the number of books
written against Islam is the same.21
In Sat Bachan, Mirza has given the number of Muslims in the world
as 940 million. He writes: "The number of Muslims is 940 million and
not 200 million."22
We are not concerned here with the accuracy of figures as
given by him but we have to see as to what is the position of such a
large number of Muslims in his view. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad writes:
Infidelity is of two kinds; one of them is that a person
totally denies Islam and does not attest the Prophet ^ as
Messenger of Allah. The other variety is for instance a
person does not believe in the Promised Messiah (Mirza
21 Malfoozat, p. 70.
22 Sat Bachan, (R.K., 10).

Ghulam Ahmad) in spite of all proofs and considers him
a liar although Allah and his Messenger % had
emphasized it. The same emphasis is also found in the
books of former prophets. Therefore it means that the
person who denies the injunction of God and his
Messenger is an infidel. In fact both these types of
infidelity if properly scrutinised are in the same
category.23
Mirza's second successor Mirza Mahmood also confirms this claim
and says "All Muslims who have not accepted allegiance of Promised
Messiah even if they have not heard his name, are infidels and out of
the circle of Islam. I accept it as my belief."24
According to a conservative estimate the population of
Muslims in the world is 907 197 00025 but according to the tenets and
beliefs of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and his followers more than 900
million Muslims become infidels. This is the magnificent result of the
Mirza's ill-omened advent.
By the declaration of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a prophet the
following results become evident:
A) By destroying the finality of our Prophet $1, Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad opened the gate for new claimants to prophethood with the
result that some of his own followers later asserted the claim. How
difficult it became or rather impossible for the followers of Mirza to
bring all those liars to book! However, following are the names of
such claimants: Yar Mohammad Qadiani, Ahmad Noor Kabli, Abdul
Lateef Qadiani, Chiragh Din Jamvi, Ghulam Muhammad Abdullah
Temapuri and Siddiq Deenar.
B) Mirza Ghulam Ahmad abolished Jihad and forcefully
supported colonialism in India and kept apart his followers from all
freedom loving parties of India. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad considered

Allah (Ta’ala) says in the Holy Qur'an "We gave shelter to
both Messiah and his mother Mary on a peaceful mound
with a spring of water.” By making me a counterpart of
Jesus God made the British government for me as a sort
of mound (Rabwah) of peace, tranquility and place of
rest26
Therefore the followers of the Qadiani creed remained aloof from the
freedom movement in India.
C) The followers of the Qadiani creed by their ways proved
that they have no connection of whatsoever with the Muslims. Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad and his companions prohibited their followers to
offer prayers behind a Muslim or to join prayers of Muslim funeral.
He also forbade having any ties of relationship such as marriage with
Muslims. Is it not a fact that Chaudhri Zafarullah Khan, the former
Foreign Minister of Pakistan, deliberately did not participate in the
funeral prayers of Qaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder
of Pakistan and stood aside as an onlooker? But in spite of all this
followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad continued to use the name of
Islam to strengthen their movement both inside and outside the
country. The position of non-Muslims who were impressed by the
Qadiani creed and accepted it was like that of falling from the frying
pan into the fire as in reality they could not reach to truth.
D) The writings of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad were messages of
contempt and hatred for the Muslims. Mirza called his opponents
(Zurriyat Baghaya) offsprings of prostitutes27, also pigs and dogs as is
16 Damima (R.K. footnote, p. 668).

7. The Truth About Ahmadism
evident from his famous couplet28. Even after the establishment of
Pakistan, successors of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad continued the same
attitude and behaviour which resulted in two bloody encounters with
Muslims. Their movement of 1953 and 1974 were movements of
hatred and malice. On the common and forceful demand of the
people of Pakistan, the Government passed the following Bill in the
National Assembly declaring the followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
as non-Muslim minority. (See Appendix A)
E) The tenets of Qadianism had never been accepted by the
learned theologians of Islam as tenets of Islam. At Makkah the centre
of the Muslim world, the Organisation of “Rabita Alam Islami” the
only representative body of the Muslims and Muslim countries of the
world unanimously passed a resolution (in the conference held on
i4th-i8th Rabi' al-Awwal 1394 A.H) that Qadianism has no relation
with Islam. (See Appendix B)
As the Fifteenth Century Hijrah has begun the followers of
Mirza Ghulam have to find a new Mujaddid and a new Promised
Messiah. With the end of 14th Century Hijrah the dispensation of the
Mujaddid of that century has also lapsed. The Ahmadis should now
expect a new Mujaddid and a new division in their already divided
movement. Will Mirza Nasir abdicate his "Khilafat" in favour of the
Mujaddid of the 15th century? Who will follow whom? What have the
Muftis of Ahmadism to say if Mirza Nasir Ahmad refuses to accept
the new Mujaddid? Will they declare him as an Ahmadi disbeliever?
28
Mirza says in his famous couplet:

i.e. 'Indeed the enemies have turned into the swine of the desert and their women
folk are no more than bitches.' (Najm al-Huda).

APPENDIX B
Declaration of The World Muslim League:
Qadianism or Ahmadism
Qadianism is one of the subversive sects which claims to be Islamic.
Its main contradictions with Islam are:
1) Its leader (MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD QADIANI) pretended
that he was a prophet and Messenger from God.
2) Falsifications of certain Quranic texts.
3) Abolishingjihad.
Qadianism is the founding of British Imperialism which does not
show up except under its protection. Qadianism is traitorous to the
main issues of Islam. It consolidates Imperialism and Zionism.
Moreover, its co-operation with anti-Islamic forces makes it a force
for the destruction or falsification of Islam by following these
methods:
a) Constructing Mosques which are used by anti-Islamic forces
as a place for Qadiani false preaching.
b) Opening of schools or colleges or even orphanages in which
the subversive activities of Qadianis are performed for the
consolidation of anti-Islamic forces.
Qadianism published falsified translations of the meanings of the
Quranic texts. These translations are rendered in all international
languages and into all local dialects, depending on the resources of
anti-Islamic forces. To stop this subversive activity against Islam, the
Conference adopts the following resolutions:
1) Islamic organizations should take a full account of all Qadiani
activities in their schools, institutes, and Orphanages, and in
all other locations in which Qadianis practice their
33
7. The Truth About Ahmadism
subversive activities. They should expose Qadianis and teach
people how to avoid their tricky traps.
2) Declaring the disbelief of this (Qadiani) sect and that it has
gone far astray from the path of Islam.
3) Complete boycott of Qadianis by Muslims in all social,
cultural and economic dealings. Marriage with Qadianis and
burying them in Muslim cemeteries should also be
prohibited, because they are considered disbelievers.
4) Calling upon Muslim states to ban all Qadiani activities in the
realms of Islamic work and culture and for them to hand over
the Qadiani premises to true Muslims. Qadianis should not
be employed as state officials in Muslim countries.
5) Publishing photocopies of all Qadiani falsifications of the
Glorious Qur'an, and keeping Qadiani translations of the
Qur'an away from Muslims, as well as drawing attention to its
dangers. Circulation of these translations should be banned.

ESSAY TWO:
THE DIVINE
VERDICT ON MIRZA
GHULAM AHMAD
QADIYANI'S
CHALLENGE
Translated from Urdu to English by A.H. Khan

According to a well-known saying of the Nazi minister of
propaganda, Goebbels, if you want to make a lie acceptable to the
people, keep on repeating it until they are forced to believe it as
truth. Most likely this was the technique adopted by Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad Qadiani during his life and continued by his numerable
followers and Khulafa during the last 80 years, and among the recent
example of this is the challenge for Mubahala29 by Mirza Tahir
Ahmad, the Imam of the Ahmadi group.
Mirza Tahir in his booklet first repeated the challenge of
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, whose decision manifested in the sordid
death of Mirza, and the details of which will be mentioned in the
next pages. Afterwards he mentioned 61 matters which according to
him are among the list of allegations levelled time to time against the
Qadiani group, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and his Khulafa. Among these
matters, 28 are related to beliefs, 11 about the links between the
Qadiani group and the enemies of Islam, 17 about enmity towards
I
Pakistan and 5 concerning the personality of Mirza Tahir Ahmad.
Mirza Tahir tried by invoking on many instances “May the
curse be upon the liars” to give the impression that these allegations
are baseless. As for the matters related to beliefs, then they are
; established in the writings of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, his Khulafa
29 Translator footnote: Mubahalah is a duel invocation from two sides such as
invoking death or curse on the side among the two that is lying or on falsehood.
One side makes the invocation first that Allah kills or curses the liar among them or
the one who is on falsehood among the two sides, and the other side makes the
same invocation afterwards.
37
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghularn Ahmad’s Challenge
and followers, which the scholars have been exposing during the last
80 years to the laymen and for which Mirza’is cannot find any
credible interpretation. As for the matters related to enmity towards
Pakistan, then before the partition of India, the role of Zafarullah
Khan is not hidden in giving the area of Gurdaspur to India. There are
written evidences of the objectives of Mirza Mahmood Ahmad of
making a united India and turning Baluchistan into a Qadiani base.
The recent events such as the incident of Islamabad and the
kidnapping and recovery of Molana Saleem Qureshi are under
investigation and soon we are waiting for the reality to be uncovered.
Mirza Tahir running away from Pakistan and evading giving
any answer on these allegations is a strong evidence against him.
After mentioning the list of 61 allegations, he presented in an
innocent manner those beliefs of the Ahmadi group which
apparently raise no objections about them being Islamic but we will
tell Mirza Tahir that he failed in his attempt to hide the true face of
Qadianism. What is the reason that the Muslim community since the
last century is very busy with Mirza’ism, the body representing the
Islamic world The Muslim World League (Rabitah Alam Islami) and
the parliament of Pakistan declared Qadianism to be outside the fold
of Islam, and it is certain that there are causes behind this clash?
We don’t need to present evidences against the 61 claims of Mirza
Tahir as the Alami Majlis Tahafuzz Khatm-e Nubuwwat has
beautifully done such. We will present here some of the beliefs and
actions of the Qadiani community which Mirza Tahir Ahmad hided
and did a treachery with Qadianism by doing such. We challenge
Mirza Tahir to prove that these beliefs are not present in the writings
or in the actions of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, his Khulafa and followers,
and if he cannot do such then it will be clear who will be concerned
by the verse “The curse of Allah is upon the liars”:
1) “Our claim is that we are a messenger and a prophet” (Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad ka Da’wah as quoted in the newspaper Badr,
5 March 1908); “The true divinity is the one who sent his
messenger to Qadiyan” (Daafi Al-Bala, p 11); “I say about
38
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
myself that Allah called me as a messenger and prophet” (Ek
Ghalti ka Izalah, p. 10).
2) The claim of being the promised Messiah (Izalah Awhaam,
Masih Hindustan mein and other books)
3) "The individual who will not follow him and will not enter in
his oath of allegiance (Bay* ah) and will remain an opponent
to him, he will be someone disobedient to Allah and his
messenger and will be a dweller of hellfire” (Epistle: Mi’yarAl-
Akhbar, p. 8).
4) All the people of Islam are disbelievers and outside the fold of
Islam:
The third matter is that any Muslim who does not enter
the oath of allegiance of his eminence the promised
Messiah, even if he never heard the name of his eminence
the promised Messiah, he is a disbeliever and outside the
fold of Islam. I acknowledge that this is my belief (Aainah
Sadaqat of Mirza Mahmood Ahmad).
5) The claim of being the seal of the prophets:
I have told on many instances that according to the verse
“And (He has sent him (the Prophet 3$) also to) others
among them (Muslims) who have not yet joined them
(but they will come)” (Al-Jumu’ah: 3), I am from the
Buruzi (manifestation) perspective this seal of the
prophets (Ek Ghalti ka Izalah).
6) The claim of being the other sending of the Prophet and
claiming the title “Mercy unto the world” (Rahmatun Lit
Alamin) for himself:
How can the Muslims present their religion to people of
other religions, without having faith in the truthfulness of
the promised Messiah (meaning Mirza Ghulam Ahmad)
who in reality was the same seal of Messengers who was
sent again at the end of times according to the divine
promise? And he is the same Fakhr Awalin wa Aakharin
(pride of the first and last generations) who came 1300
39
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghularn Ahmad’s Challenge
years ago as “Rahmatun LilAlamiti” (Al-Fadl, 26 September
1915)-
And this is the reason that Mirza’is didn’t need another
wording for the testimony of faith as they consider Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad as incorporated in “Muhammad is the
Messenger of Allah.”
7) Having the status of the son of Allah: According to Mirza, he
received the revelation: "You are for me at the level of my son,
you are for me at the level of my children” (Tazkirah).
8) Having the power of “Kun fa Yakun” (saying to something
“Be” and it becomes so). According to Mirza, he received the
“Ilham” (inspiration): “You matter is only that when you
desire something, you say about it ‘be’ and it becomes so”
{Tazkirah).
9) “The one who does not believe in Mirza is from the children
of prostitutes” (as quoted in Aainah Kamalat Islam, p. 547).
10) The book revealed upon Mirza is called Al-Kitab Al-Mubeen
which has 20 Ajza (parts). Each Juzz (part) has many verses
(as quoted in An-Nubuwwat ftl Ilham, p. 43 and Haqeeqatul
Wahi, p. 391).
11) Revilement of the noble Companions:
Abu Hurayrah is deficient in the understanding of the
Quran, the scholars of Hadith have objected to his Dirayah
(deep understanding). Abu Hurayrah had the capacity to
memorise and had a little share in understanding
(Dhameemah Nusratul Haq).
12) Mirza offered dirty insults to noble scholars. (As we don’t
want to repeat the dirty language of Mirza, we apologise for
not quoting these insults, the Mirza’is are fully aware of the
masterpiece of vulgarity present in the books of Mirza.)
13) It is not allowed to pray behind any Muslim:
It is obligatory upon us that we do not consider Non-
Ahmadis as Muslims and we do not pray behind them as
40
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
they deny a prophet of Allah (Ta’ala), and it is a matter of
the religion and no one has a choice to do anything in this
(Anwar Khilafat of Mirza Mahmood Ahmad).
14) Marrying Muslims is not permissible:
The order of the promised Messiah and it is a wonderful order, is
that no Ahmadi should give his daughter to a Non-Ahmadi for
marriage (Barkat Khilafat of Mirza Mahmood).
15) It is not even permissible to pray the funeral prayer of a
Muslim:
It is known from the noble Quran that the person who
apparently became Muslim but disbelief is known with
certainty in his heart, then it is not permissible to pray his
funeral prayer, so how can it be permissible to pray the
funeral prayer of a Non-Ahmadi (Anwar Khilafat, p. 96).
16) The only way to scrutinise Ahadith is the person of Mirza:
And the person (meaning Mirza Ghulam Ahmad) who
came as a Hukm (order), he has the choice to accept from
the treasures of Hadith what he wants after gaining the
knowledge from Allah, and he has the choice to reject
whatever part he wants after gaining the knowledge from
Allah (Tuhfah Golrawiyah ba Rasoom, p. 14, Hashiyah).
17) The mosque of Al-Aqsa which is mentioned in Surah Isra is
the mosque of Qadian (as quoted in Izaiah Awhaam, p. 34,
Hashiyah)
18) Mirza Tahir tried to present the prayer, fasting and Hajy of his
group as a sign or Islam and tried to present his group as
Muslims, but the Khalifah of Qadiyan Mirza Mahmood
Ahmad mentioned the words of Mirza regarding the prayer,
fasting and Hajj of his group:
41
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
“It is wrong to say that our differences with other people are
only on the death of the Messiah”30 or on few other issues, he
said: “The essence of Allah, the Messenger Quran, prayer,
fasting, Hajj, Zakah - he explained in detail - We differ with
them in all of these matters” (Al-Fadl, 30 July 1931).
19) The Qadiani community considers disbeliever anyone who
declares them disbelievers and liars. We are asking Mirza
Tahir Ahmad whether he considers Qaid e A’zam
(Muhammad Ali Jinnah) as a Muslim or not? And what is the
reason why Zafarullah Khan did not pray the funeral prayer
of Qaid e A’zam? Likewise we ask him that before the
creation of Pakistan, do they consider Sir Fadl Husain as
Muslim or not? So what is the reason that “Al-Fadl” which is
the organ of the Qadiani group acknowledges him to be a
benefactor to their group, and he also has numerous favours
upon Zafarullah Khan, and yet Zafarullah Khan did not pray
his funeral prayer?
20) We ask Mirza Tahir Ahmad what is his opinion regarding the
Lahori group established by Muhammad Ali, which except
Mirza’s prophethood believes in all other beliefs of your
group?
Mirza Tahir Ahmad wanted to be successful in hiding his real beliefs
to the laymen, now he has only two options left: either he should
deny those beliefs, curse those who hold this creed, including his
father and grand-father, and enter Islam again, or he should remain
upon his lies and deception and thus be concerned by the verse “May
the curse of Allah be upon the liars.”
Mirza Tahir Ahmad to prove the truth of the Qadiani group
took the support of Mubahalah as before him Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
threw this dice. So to know the legal status of Mubahalah in the
Islamic law, we turn to the Quran and Hadith. In the Quran, both the
30

him) as the Qadianis believe he died and will not return at the end of times.
42
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
Jews and the Christians have been challenged. Regarding the Jews, it
was said:
gji ji 'LiiU- &\ lie \yA\ y&\ ,U=J o\3f
dJili Uj ^ 0 6i^ 01
4 SAJ'j ^.*1
Say, [0 Muhammad], "If the home of the Hereafter
with Allah is for you alone and not the [other] people,
then wish (Tarnanawu Al-Mawt) for death, if you
should be truthful. But they will never wish for it, ever,
because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah
is Knowing of the wrongdoers. (Surah Baqarah: 94-95)
Ibn Katheer quoted under the exegesis of this verse the saying of ibn
‘Abbas: “The one who is a liar among the two parties, invoke death for
him”, and to further clarify this, he wrote:
According to the saying of ibn Abbas, the Jews were told
to do something fair and it was that if you believe that
you are the friends of Allah without all other people, you
are his children and beloved ones, you are from the
people of paradise and all others are from people of hell,
then do a Mubahalah and invoke against the one who is
a liar among the two sides, and know that Mubahalah
throws the liar away cutting his roots without any other
possibility, and as they were certain about it and knew
the Prophet’s truthfulness, they avoided doing
Mubahalah because they knew their lies and they knew
the characteristics of the Prophet (saw) as they knew
their children but they kept hiding it...This Mubahalah
has been interpreted from the word “Tamani” (“Wish”)
because every person loving the truth wishes that Allah
destroys the person of falsehood with whom is doing
Mubahalah and the particular reason for this is that the
truth becomes clearly apparent through this. The
43
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
Mubahalah was done upon death as life is very much
beloved by the Jews, as they know that their ending after
death will be bad. (Ibn Kathher 1:127)
It was said about the Christians of Najran:
(JJjj \ la Jjo ^yA 4^3
joJc- *JS\ cJJJ
Then whoever argues with you about it after [this]
knowledge has come to you - say, "Come, let us call our
sons and your sons, our women and your women,
ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly
[together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars
[among us].” (Surah Aal Imran: 61)
Ibn Katheer mentioned through Ibn Ishaq that the reason behind die
revelation of this verse was that in the 9th year after Hijrah a group of
Christians comprised of 60 riders came to Madeenah and this group
had 14 of their scholars and influent people. The Prophet $g called
them to Islam and showed them the weakness of Christian beliefs but
they did not accept the invitation of Prophet Many verses at the
beginning of Surah Aal Imran are also dealing with this judgement.
When the Prophet % received the order from Allah (Ta’ala) and the
time of the decision came between him and them, and when he was
to invoke for curse to be sent upon them and they would be called to
do such an invocation, they requested a respite. Their leader
AbdulMasih said to his friends:
0 group of Christians, you know that Muhammad & is
a sent Prophet, and he came with a decisive saying
about Eesa (Jesus), and you also know that whenever a
nation has made an invocation for curse (ie
Mubahalah) against any Prophet, neither their elder
brothers nor their younger brothers remained, and if
44
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
you do such, you will be uprooted and thrown away. If
you really want to remain firm upon your religion and
don’t want to leave your belief regarding Eesa, then
seek peace with this individual and return to your
homes.
Thus they accepted to give Jiziyah and returned to Najran.
Imam Ahmad narrated this statement of Ibn Abbas: “Abu Jahl
(may Allah destroy him) said: “If I see Muhammad praying near the
Ka’bah, I will put my foot on his neck, and the Prophet % later said:
If he did such then angels would seized him in front of
everyone. And if the Jews had wished for death, they
would have seen their seats in the fire and likewise had
those (the Christians of Najran) came out for the
Mubahalah then they would have returned (to Najran)
in such a state that they would have no wealth or
family left.
This narration is also mentioned by Imam Al-Bukhari, At-Tirmidhi
and An-Nasa’i.
We know from these two verses and their context the following
matters:
1) The Prophet of Allah through the Book of Allah has fully
established the evidence upon the Jews and the Christians
and clarified for them the weakness of their beliefs.
2) The order to do Mubahalah with the Jews and the Christians
of Najran was from Allah (Ta'ala), meaning that the Prophet
(saw) did not do Mubahalah until he received this order from
Allah, because if according to this order these two groups did
Mubahalah, then their destiny would have been destruction.
3) The Jews and the Christians clearly knew that doing
Mubahalah with a true Prophet was like calling to their
destruction, hence they turned away from doing Mubahalah.
45
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
4) This is the general Sunnah of Allah to give respite to everyone
in this world, it is not that anyone who holds a false creed is
straight away destroyed. If it was such, then falsehood would
not remain and would have perished since long.
5) As the Prophets were doing Mubahalah upon the order of
Allah, then general member of this community should take
their emblem in establishing the truth with evidences. This is
the Sunnah of Allah that at the end the truth will be
victorious and falsehood defeated.
As Mirza Ghulam Ahmad considered himself to be a prophet, he
could not digest the virulent attacks of the scholars of Islam and
especially those of Shaykh Thanaullah Amritsari, and hence he took
help in following the example of Nuh he also had claimed to
have a particular link with Nuh and affirmed that Allah called
him with the name of Nuh (as quoted in Seerah Al-Mahdl).
Mirza thought that as Nuh invoked Allah for the
destruction of the disbelievers and this resulted in all the disbelievers
being drowned, likewise he thought that at least one person, meaning
Shaykh Thanaullah would certainly perish during his life, rather he
was so convinced in his truthfulness that he declared his invocation
to be an inspiration. But Mirza forgot that Nuh was a true prophet
whose invocation was accepted and disbelievers were destroyed
while he was a false claimant to prophethood who was given respite
according to the Sunnah of Allah to come back on the right path.
Likely this was the decision of Allah that Mirza would perish by his
own weapon, and hence he died 13 months after his invocation and
by this way he made the fraud and deception of Qadianism evident
forever.
Most probably Mirza Tahir thinks that doing Mubahalah is
like a cricket match in which he can bring new players after losing
the first inning, but he should realise that making fun with Allah
would be very costly for him. He plays the trick of challenging every
little or big personality for Mubahalah knowing that every person has
to die including scholars and saints. Mirza Tahir is betting on that
46
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
whenever an opponent dies then he will shout and claim straight
away the truthfulness of his group. This attitude of Mirza Tahir
cannot deceive the Muslims anymore.
In the next lines, we will quote the texts of the dispute
between Shaykh Thanaullah Amritsari and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
which resulted in the fatal defeat of Mirza, from the book Fitnah
Qadiyanat or Molana Thananllah Amritsari of Shaykh SafiurRahman
A’zami31, so that it becomes apparent for the general and specific
public that like the deception and fraud of Musaylamah Al-Kazzab
was exposed by the sword of a Muslim Mujahid in his life, likewise
the deception and fraud of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani was
exposed by an heavenly verdict on the 26 May 1908.

2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
THE DIVINE VERDICT AND THE LAST NAIL IN THE
COFFIN OF THE QADIANI PROPHETHOOD
“The unjust Abut Wafa32 is smiling at my condition,
Ifear that maybe it might be the smile ofdestiny."
When Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and his entire community felt helpless
to refute the activities of Jihad (struggle), scholarly criticism and
excellent objections of Shaykh Amritsari against Qadianism, and the
aura of the Shaykh provoked earthquakes in Qadiani circles, then
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad published a pamphlet on the 15th April 1907,
which gave a clear and decisive verdict whether he is truthful or a
liar. The complete pamphlet is quoted below:
The last verdict with Molvi Thanaullah Sahib:
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the all Merciful. We
praise Him and send Salah upon the noble Prophet.
(Verse) “And they ask information of you: “Is it true?”
Say: “Yes by my Lord. Indeed it is the truth” (10:53).
To the service of Molvi Thanaullah, peace be upon the
one who follows guidance. Since a long time you have
been carrying on a series of articles in your magazine Ahl
e Hadith on declaring me a liar, Fasiq (corrupt). You
always mention me in your articles as Mardood
(rejected), Kazzab (great liar), Dajjal (imposter), Mufsid
(corrupter). And you spread about me in the world that I
am a liar, Dajjal, Kazzab, and this individual’s claim of
being the promised Messiah is totally false.
I received a lot of pain from you and I remained
patient, but because I consider that I am commanded to

proclaim the truth and you attribute lies to me and
prevent people from following me, and you mention me
with these insults, slanders and words, and there cannot
be any word harsher than these, If I am such a Kazzab
and liar as you always often claim in most of your
articles, then I will perish in your life because I know that
the age of a corrupt and Kazzab is not long, and finally
with jealousy and misery, he fails and perishes during the
lifetime of his worse enemies. It is better for him to
perish so that he does not destroy the servants of Allah.
And if I am not a Kazzab and liar and honoured with
Allah’s speech and address, and am the promised
Messiah, then by Allah’s grace, I am hopeful that
according to the Sunnah of Allah you will not escape
from the punishment of deniers.
If the punishment which is not from the hands of
humans but only coming from Allah's hands such as
plague, loose motion and others are not sent upon you,
then I am not sent by Allah (Ta’ala). I am not saying this
based on Ilham (inspiration) or prophesy based on
revelation, I was just seeking a decision as an invocation.
And I invoke my Lord, Al-Baseer Al-Qadeer (all watching
and all powerful) who is ‘Aleem and Khabeer (all
knowing and informed of all things), who knows the
condition of hearts, that if this claim of being the
promised Messiah is purely a lie from myself and I am a
corrupter and a Kazzab in Your eyes, and I lie day and
night, 0 my beloved Malik (Owner), I supplicate to You
with humility to destroy me in the lifespan of Molvi
Thanaullah and make him and his Jamaat (group) happy
with my death! Ameen!
But 0 my perfect and truthful Lord, if Molvi Thanaullah
is not upon truth in these slanders against me, then I
supplicate to You with humility that You destroy him in
my lifespan, but not with human hands but with killing

diseases such as plague, loose motion and others, unless
he openly repents in front of me and my Jamaat (group)
from these evil statements and lies, which he considers
obligatory (to utter against me) and through which he !
gives me a lot of pain, Ameen 0 Lord of the universe! I ■
suffered a lot from his hands, I remained patient but I
consider that his speech is now crossing the limits.
He considers me worse than thieves and bandits, those
whose existence is very dangerous for the world and in
these slanders and evil statements, he did not act upon
]
the verse “And do not pursue that of which you have no
knowledge”, and he considers me as the worst in the
whole world. And in far and remote countries, he
propagated about me that this individual is in reality a
corrupter, thug, shopkeeper, Kazzab, liar and an
individual of the worst kind. If I did not receive such
invectives, I would have been patient upon these
slanders, but I consider that Molvi Thanaullah wants to
destroy me through these slanders.
And he wants to destroy this building that You, my
Lord and the One who sent me, built with Your own
hands, so through the claim of Your sanctity and mercy, I
supplicate to You to deliver a true verdict between me
and Thanaullah, and the one who is in reality corrupter
and Kazzab in Your eyes, extinguish him in the lifespan
of the other or afflict him with a torment similar to
death. 0 my beloved Malik (Owner), do such, Ameen
and then Ameen! “Our Lord, decide between us and our
people in truth, and You are the best of those who give
decision” (A’raf: 89)
Finally I request Molvi Sahib (ie Thanaullah Amritsari)
to publish this full speech of mine in his magazine and to
write whatever he wants below, now the decision is in
Allah’s hands.

2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
The writer, the servant of Allah, As-Samad33, Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad, the promised Messiah, 15 April 1907/1
Rabee ul Awwal 1325”34
The content of this pamphlet is clear and does not require any
explanation. After this pamphlet, on the 25th April 1907 another
speech of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was published in the Qadiani
newspaper Ztarfr. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad said:
These are among the wonders of our time. We sleep at
night and we do not think then suddenly an Ilham
(inspiration) occurs, and then it realises at its right time.
No week or ten days are free from a sign. Whatever we
wrote about Thanaullah, it was not from us, rather Allah
led its foundation. Once we turned our attention to this,
and this turning of attention to it was at night, and an
Ilham occurred this night, stating: “The invocation of the
caller has been answered”. According to the Sufis, answer
to invocation is a great Karamat (miracle), and the rest
are among its branches.35
The summary of this is that the invocation of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
in his pamphlet that the liar between him and Shaykh Thanaullah
should die in the lifespan of the truthful one, this invocation
(according to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad) was done by the instruction of
Allah and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad received an Ilham that his
invocation was accepted. Afterwards what happened is that 13
months and 12 days after the publication of this pamphlet, on the 26th
May 1908/24 Rabee* Al-Aakhir 1326, Mirza died after the illness of
loose motion which he had mentioned in his pamphlet.

2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's Challenge
And Shaykh Thanaullah remained after the death of Mirza alive for
40 years during which he was in good health continuously raising the
banner of truth and obliterating the flag of falsehood. In this manner,
according to the invocation of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the clear
verdict of Allah (Ta’ala) occurred, and he was upon falsehood, a liar
and Dajjal (imposter), and Shaykh Thanaullah was upon the truth
and truthful. A person has truly said: “He wrote that the liar would
die first And he was truthful in his lies, he died first.” A person wrote
this poem in Persian:
Mirza said: “May Thanaullah die and may the first to die
(among us) deserve Allah’s curse.” He himself departed
towards absence and deserved curse but he spoke the
truth (that the liar will die first).
Now let’s read the details of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s death from
Qadiani sources. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad used to say that he received
the Ilham: “I am the protector of everyone in the house”36 meaning:
"0 Mirza, I (Allah) will protect every member of your house”. Despite
this (presumed) divine Ilham, in April or May 1908 due to illness
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had to leave Qadian (Daar Al-Amaan and Daar
Ash-Shifa, the house of security and cure) with his family for Lahore
to change the air but when he went to Lahore, he did not return alive.
How did his death occur? The details are mentioned in the Qadiani
newspapers Al-Hukm of the 28th May 1908. The summary of it is that
on the 25th May 1908 in the evening Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had a
seizure of his ancient illness diarrhoea. At 11 o’clock in the night after
having a strong loose motion, he became extremely weak and
between 2 and 3 after another strong loose motion, his pulse stopped.
Doctors tried with great efforts to bring it back to normal but Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad after remaining for 11 hours between the state of life
and death, passed away on the 26th May at 10.15pm.

2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
It is very similar to the statement of the wife of Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad. His son narrates from her:
He went first to the toilet, and straight after he had a
seizure of loose motion but he was too weak to go to the
toilet so he had to do toilet sitting next to his bed and he
then stood up and lied down on his bed. I was massaging
his feet but he was very weak and then afterwards he had
another loose motion, and afterwards he vomited. After
his vomiting ceased and he tried to lie down, he was so
weakened that he fell on the bed on his backside and his
head hit the wood of the bed and his condition
deteriorated for the worse.37
Meaning it was the scene of (the verse) “smiting their faces and their
backs” (Muhammad: 27). The Lahori group of Mirzais wrote in their
organ Peghcim-e-Sulh on the 3rd March 1939: “Some people said that at
the time of the death of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, faeces were coming
from his mouth.”38
After his death, what happened to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
Qadiani was not less exemplary in serving as a lesson. Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad’s burial place was in his built “heavenly grave" in Qadian but
as his death happened, against the tradition of Prophets and
Messengers, 70 miles away from his burial place Qadian, in
Ahmadiyah building Lahore, it was decided to bring his body by train
from Lahore to Qadian. When his dead body was taken out of
Ahmadiyah building to go to Lahore Railway station, then the alive
and heartily people of Lahore gave him a superb reception, meaning
they threw so much faeces and dirt on his funeral carriage that it
could reach the station only with great difficulty39.

2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad’s Challenge
The supporters and opponents of Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad both
saw the result of the Divine verdict Allah had given many
admonitory lessons to Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad during his life. The
detail of this is that on the 14th June 1899 the youngest son of Mirza
Ghuiam Ahmad, Mubarak Ahmad was born and Mirza Ghuiam
Ahmad announced in great celebration in his book "Tiriyaq Al-
Qulub” that he (ie Mubarak Ahmad) is the promised reformer whose
coming he had prophesized in the pamphlet published on the 20
February 1886. Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad was so certain of his prediction
that he got him married at the age of 8 years old while he was not
adolescent yet in September 1907, but just after Mirza Ghuiam
Ahmad was enjoying the ceremony of Nikah, the angel of death came
to take the soul of his son40. The Qadiani Messiah tried his best to
save his life, the state of his devices and restless invocations was such
that its scene was described by a poet who said: "The angel of death is
determined to take the soul, the messiah is in prostration that his
saying is realised.”
But the will of Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad did not realise against
the Divine verdict On the 16th September 1907 this son left Mirza
Ghuiam Ahmad forever, in contradiction of his claims, predictions,
wishes, desires, invocations and supplications. The affliction, grief,
pain and humiliation caused by the death of this son for an old father
like Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad was not less than death. Hence the death
of this boy is in accordance to these words in the invocation of Mirza:
"And the one who is in reality corrupter and Kazzab in Your eyes,
extinguish him in the lifespan of the other or afflict him with a
torment similar to death.”
But Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad’s heart was sealed hence he could
not take a lesson from this incident, and after this warning and the
respite of few more months, Mirza Ghuiam Ahmad was seized by the
43 Translator footnote: The Nikah happened on the 30 of August after Asr and
Mubarak Ahmad passed away on the 16th of September at Subh time, as quoted by
Abu Suhaib, the editor of book Fitnah Qadiyanat orMolana Thanaullah Amritsari.

power of Allah in such a manner that his death became a permanent
and Divine sign of him being a great liar and Dajjal.

So We made this punishment an example to their own
and to succeeding generations and a lesson for the
pious. (Al-Baqarah: 66)
Contrary to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the effect of this pamphlet on
Shaykh Amritsari was that during this time, he remained in
tranquillity, peace and good health. Not only his enthusiasm in
refuting Qadianism increased but only one and a half month later he
launched his decisive and unrivalled magazine against Qadianis
entitled “Muraqa’ Qadiani”, which even continued after Mirza
Qadiani’s death for approximately half a year.
IMPORTANT NOTE
There are many aspects in the incident of the Divine verdict on Mirza
Ghulam Ahmad’s death and the lessons and admonitions in it, but
moving away from this story, we feel that it is necessary to mention
something here: and it is that when this incident happened, there
were in the length of united India (present India and Pakistan) many
great personalities from different school of thoughts, great, pious and
saintly scholars, but the person whom Allah had chosen for the
decisive verdict in this fight between the truth and falsehood, was
Shaykhul Islam Thanaullah Amritsari (may Allah have mercy upon
him). "The lots (Qur‘ah)fell on this lunatic andfrenzied person ofme.”
This shows that according to Allah, the status of the Shaykh in
elevating the speech of Allah and refuting Qadianism was the highest
among all the pious and saintly personalities of the time. And like
Mirza Qadiani was the greatest Dajjal of his time, Shaykh Thanaullah
55
2. The Divine Verdict on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s Challenge
Amritsari was the greatest defender of the religion and symbol of
Islam.
Both his opponents and those agreeing with him
acknowledged in his right what Allah had attested silently (through
this verdict), rather Mirza Ghulam Ahmad himself before his death
attested to this. If you read his pamphlet of the 15th April 1907 one
more time, you will notice behind every sentence his helplessness
and frustration, with how much grief and sorrow he was presenting
his fear to Allah about his group being extinct and its foundations
annihilated. But if you want to hear clearer words than these, open
the book Haqeeqatui Wahi of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad on page 30,
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad wrote clearly: “Nowadays Molvi Thanullah is
exceeding all other scholars in ridiculing, mocking and denigrating
me”.
If you want to read the statements of those agreeing with him
(acknowledging that Shaykh Amritsari was the greatest opponent of
Qadianism), then you can read the statements of Sayid Sulaiman
Nadwi, Shaykh Habib ur Rahman (may Allah have mercy upon him)
the director of Deoband, Shaykh Ataullah Shah Bukhari which I have
quoted in previous pages in the biography of Shaykh Amritsari. These
acknowledgements of the Shaykh’s efforts and of his status are a sign
that except the Qadiani group, the scholars and intellectuals of all
schools of thoughts would remember him as Fatih Qadiyan (The
conqueror of Qadiyan) and no other scholar received this title in the
entirety of India. Shaykh Amritsari himself had a sense of the effects
of his efforts, and most likely this is the reason why he wrote: “My
eloquent refutation of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad came after other noble
scholars had started, but I surpassed them in quality”41; “The symbol
of the defence (meaning the defence from Qadiani attacks) of the
Muslims was Shaykh Abu Sa’eed Muhammad Husayn Batalwi (may
Allah have mercy upon him)... Allah had desired that after Shaykh
Batawli (may Allah have mercy upon him) this task will be conferred
to me, and if maybe he was aware of such, he would have read the
