Acknowledgement
I immensely enjoyed completing the first assignment in DPHRM, ‘Personal
Development Plan’.
I am sincerely thankful to our humble lecturer, Mr. C H Liyanage, who conducted the
first session of DPHRM module one, for guiding this assignment and teaching smart
goals to make an action plan.
Last but not least, I would like to express my gratitude to the class coordinator, Ms.
Nethmi Weerakoon, who assisted me in collecting the parts I missed from the lecture
and clarified some concerns regarding this assignment.

Executive Summary
Even though I had ideas about some goals regarding my future career path before, I
could turn them into SMART goals in this assignment.
In the second section, I have briefed what I plan to achieve and the intended pathway
within the proper time frames. Then, I did the SWOT analysis table, and I could identify
the gaps in my skills & knowledge. It was a great tool to think and identify my
opportunities, even though chances were always with me.

Introduction
I am working for SriLankan Airlines Ltd as a Senior Flight Attendant.
Besides that, I have three years of experience in HR Management with Serendib Leisure
Management Ltd, a Hemas Holdings PLC subsidiary. I completed up to stage 1 of
PQHRM during that tenure with Hemas.
Unfortunately, I had to postpone my studies after joining SriLankan Airlines Ltd,
because of its nature of operations and inability to attend physical classes as desired.
Therefore, I take this opportunity to thank CIPM for introducing the online facilities
which allowed me to continue studies in HR Management.
I opted following three interrelated goals regarding my professional career, which I will
elaborate on in the following sections.
1. Get Professional qualifications from recognized institutes.
2. Become the Head of Human Resources at SriLankan Airlines Ltd.
3. Become the CEO at SriLankan Airlines Ltd.

Goal No. 1:
Specific I will get several professional qualifications from recognized
institutes.
Measurable Altogether, four programs and I have taken the first two steps.
Attainable I was qualified enough to start the programs. Similarly, I would
finish them with higher marks and distinctions.
Relevant I aim to become a CEO through the pathway of HR Management.
Therefore, the priority will be on learning HR Management; other
qualifications are also essential for reaching the final goal.
Time Based I will complete these steps by the end of 2027.
I will gain Professional Qualifications in HR Management, Finance, marketing,
and Travel & Tourism from internationally recognized institutions, getting the
highest marks and distinctions by the end of 2027.
I am planning to get the following qualifications to achieve the final goal of becoming
the company's CEO.
1. CQHRM
2. MBA (FinTech)
3. MBA (Marketing)
4. MBA (Travel & Tourism)
Completing DPHRM will allow me to reach the CQHRM. Completing CQHRM
requires three years, and I will complete it by the end of 2025.
I have already enrolled for MBA (FinTech) at London Metropolitan University, which
will commence end of September. It is a one-year program and will complete by the
end of 2023. I hope to complete all MBA programs by the end of 2027.

I aim to become the Head of Human Resources at SriLankan Airlines Ltd by 2029,
and gradually, I will gain entry to the HR department while completing the
required qualifications.
Since I have prior working experience in HRM, the pathway I opted to reach the final
goal of becoming CEO, using the field of HR management. It would be a turning point
as it allows me to be familiar with all company operations and to know every aspect of
policies, procedures, and especially the people inside the organization.
I intend to request cross-training in the HR department soon, and there I would gain
knowledge and practices related to Aviation. Following the courses with CIPM, I would
gain knowledge of the latest theories, procedures, laws, and so forth.
I aim to complete the relevant qualifications and move to the HR department by the end
of 2025. Then, after gaining the required experience in the HR department will apply
for the position of Head of Human Resources by 2029.

Conclusion
Since this is not a case study, I do not have any suggestions or presentations to present
at the conclusion.
Please note that the presented goals are unique to me and are long-term. Because of
that, there were some limited points to include in the action plan as per the guideline,
which states the action plan is for the next 12 months.
