Greetings from CDAC, Mohali!

The Government of India has taken up various initiatives for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes
(SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Women and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in the country. This
includes scholarships, Free Coaching, Economic empowerment schemes and related activities. As
the efforts in this direction is significant for upliftment of various sections of the society, there is a
need to provide adequate opportunity for candidates to gain expertise and skills in Information
Technology, Electronics and related domains which are expected to be leveraged in near future.

Considering these aspects Work Based Learning (WBL) programme in Niche/Emerging


Technologies is a unique initiative to provide employability skills to the individuals of SC, ST,
Women and EWS.

The Key Features of the WBL:


This programme will provide an opportunity to selected SC/ST/EWS/Women candidates to
acquire Technical Knowledge Expansion; Real-time Working Skills; Technology Use; Problem
Solving Skills; Reasoning; Ideation; Analytical Thinking; Interpersonal Skills, etc. in a professional
work environment. This programme would aim to achieve the following:

• It facilitates SC/ ST/ EWS/ Women candidates for transition from college environment to the
corporate world, and thereby provides them with a real-time exposure on niche technological
project/ activity in organizations under MeitY.
• The Programme provides direct practical experience and exposure to Fresh Graduates
Engineers on Niche Technologies thereby reducing the “deployable time” for both the
candidate, as well as the prospective employer.
• It helps candidates attain stability between theoretical studies and realistic job exposure
through hand-on expertise in Design/Developmental Skills, Requirement Analysis, Testing
skills, Exposure to Standardization/QA etc.
• Helps in enhancing professional skills among the candidates in various areas such as problem-
solving abilities; communication skills; presentation skills, confidence enhancement, individual
grooming, enterprise etiquettes, etc.

Eligibility: Students (SC, ST, Women, and EWS) who have passed B.E or B. Tech. or Equivalent (Computer
Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Electronics, and Communication) or M.Sc. (Information
Technology, Computer Science) or M.C.A. examination in the last year or in the current year or are pursuing 7thor
8th Semester currently are eligible to apply.
Period of Programme- 6 Months (Next batch Commencing on- July 2023)

Area of work / activities in the organization can include specific / targeted project work,
capability building initiatives, design-based activities, developmental activities, research-based
activities, etc.
Individual will get the opportunity to work on Live Projects and Technologies.

WBL is facilitated through Seven (7) Organizations of MeitY i.e. CERT-IN, C-DAC, NIELIT, STQC, CMET,
ERNET and SAMEER constituting of total 81 Centers or Units.

Please follow the following steps for Applying:
Step 1: Go to AICTE internship website (URL: https://internship.aicte-india.org ).

Step 2 : Select “Register” then “Student” and Enter details like University/College/InstituteName and
Candidate personal details and click on Register button on AICTE Internship portal.

Note: If candidate belongs to SC, ST or EWS category then please select category and uploadCaste
Certificate.

Step 3: After successful registration, Student will receive verification link on email addressprovided

Step 4: Student will verify the registration by clicking on received link.


Step 5: After successful verification, Please login and select “profile” and enter your all details.Note: If you

want to edit Profile, Please select “Edit” button and update profile.

Step 6: Complete your Profile and upload all required documents and add four PreferredLocation
Note: WBL location should be in candidate’s preferred location otherwise candidate will not beeligible to
apply.
Step 7: After completing Profile, Please select “Go to main Page” or open home page of website(URL:
https://internship.aicte-india.org) and then scroll down and select “WBL”

Step 8: Check all WBL internship advertisement posted on AICTE site. Please select “ViewDetails”
Buttonfor more details about WBL.
Step 9: Check the qualification and City of post and to apply for WBL select “Apply Now” then
Select “Student” then “Confirm” and then enter your email id and password and Select “Login”button.
Note: If candidate receive error massage for location or education qualification then update thepreferred location
and education qualification in profile according to advertisement if student want to select location and eligible for
educational qualification.

Step 10: Student will receive a pop up message for successful apply for WBL and he can check applied internship
on dashboard.
