The time of the Creator
In today’s generation the gen Z value their time by taking effort on their future. Some
focus on financial stability, others may be bracing their life towards upcoming difficulties,
and some are aware of the result in the future because of their actions and determination. If
some are focusing on the future others are stuck on their past lives. Reminiscing the moments
of their joy, sadness or guilt. The past has its own story of what we are now. In short terms,
the past is the cause of the present. So what is time?
Time is a measure of the period in which an action, process, condition exists or
continues. In Christian communities, the book of Genesis is the beginning of the creation of
God. But if God created the world and this world started the concept of time then where is
God before creating the world and before time began? From the subject of Salvation history,
God existed before the creation from eternity. This eternity has no time but only the present.
After the creation the time began.Time cannot exist without something and if there was
nothing then there is no time existed in there. As St. Augustine says; “there can be no time
without creation.” For what reason? When God created the world, time passed in this
creature because of the limit and imperfection of the human being. God as supreme being has
no limit and because of that He doesn’t have the nature of time. He is the past, the present,
and the future. If God had this nature of time then He has its limits on the world. The only
time he has is the present. Present in the past and in the future. One cannot argue that His
existence in the past is invalid because He is the cause of that past. And in this past time He is
there because of His unlimit proponent in time. As well as in the future, He exists in time that
hasn't yet existed because of his unlimited nature on time. He is the present time that cannot
change. Because time is defined as something “changeable.”Thus, God is He that cannot
change because He is He then time has not in Him.St. Augustine stresses out the question
God’s doing before creation. He answered, "He was preparing hell for those that pry into
mysteries'." A witty explanation yet he answered the question in a manner of explanation.
That God didn’t create no creature before any creature was made.
St. Augustine is famously known for his writings about time. He believed that time is
a subjective experience and not an objective reality. In his essay, he explores the different
aspects of time and how it is perceived by humans.According to St. Augustine, time is a
mental construct that humans use to make sense of the world around them. It is not something
that exists independently, but rather a product of our minds. This means that different
individuals can have different perceptions of time based on their experiences and
perspectives.
St. Augustine also believed that time is closely linked to memory. He argued that our
ability to remember events from the past is what gives us a sense of time. Without memory,
time would be an abstract concept with no real meaning.
Another important aspect of St. Augustine's ideas about time is his belief in the
existence of an eternal realm that exists outside of time. He believed that God exists outside
of time, and that humans can experience glimpses of this eternal realm through spiritual
contemplation.
In conclusion, God is in the past, present, and future. His nature doesn’t have time
because He is unlimit. Where before the creation God is in the eternity which has no time.
And time began when God created the world. The world is changeable unlike God, that's why
time exists in the world not in God. Because of His nature on time He exists in the past where
for me He is the cause of all. The future in which He is,as I have said, limitless.
