TITLE OF NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL


ACTIVITY 2022

VENUE PINAGAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, LUCOG, TABUK CITY,


KALINGA

OVERVIEW The nationwide simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) is


quarterly held to ensure the capability of the respective LGUs
in the country and the government in holistically preparing for
earthquake preparedness as it underpins securing public safety

OBJECTIVE The objective of the NSED is to enhance the understanding of


participants and the general public on the immediate steps to
be undertaken when an earthquake occurs. Moreover, it also
serves as a systematic approach to revise the approaches in
earthquake preparedness.

PARTICIPANTS There were fifty-two (52) pupils from the Kindergarten to


Grade 6, six (6) teachers, one school head, two (2) Barangay
Official- who conducted the documentation and five
(5)members of the Barangay search and rescue team

HIGHLIGHTS Pinagan Elementary School and Blgu Lucog joined the


ceremonial pressing of button marking the 3rd quarter
earthquake drill at their respective grounds last September 8,
2022. The said drill was mandated by the office of civil
defense. At exactly 10 o’ clock in the morning, a siren sound
blared for one minute as signal that an earthquake is currently
happening, Mrs. Brendalee Lingbawan and Punong Barangay
Nicanor Edas led the activity. Everybody ducked and covered
themselves under armchairs and tables. Then the teachers led
their advisory classes to the designated evacuation area
located in front of the building. They were grouped together
according to the class where they belong. Then the classroom
teacher did a headcount to make sure that all of the pupils
were out and safe. While on the evacuation area, Mrs.
Lingbawan disseminated the information about the occurrence
of earthquake as well as the needs to carry out a drill to
enhance their awareness in the safety measures before, during
and after an earthquake.

RESULTS AND The drill was carried our simultaneously and with a rating of
ANALYSIS very satisfactory.
