                Italian Peninsula
    - known as the Italic Peninsula or the Apennine
Peninsula,is peninsula extending from the southern Alps.

 some 600 miles (960 km); it has a maximum width of
                       150 miles
- The peninsula comprises much of Italy and includes the
  independent republic of San Marino as well as Vatican
                          City.
                       Balkan Peninsula

 although a number of highlands are identified within

- The Acropolis in Athens is a

    - Considered the most beautiful
 fountain in all of Rome, Italy. Trevi
Fountain features an elaborate stone
sculpture of the papal coat of arms.
   It is said that visitors who toss a
  coin in the fountain will return to
              Rome one day.
                          Leaning Tower of Pisa
- Known around the globe for its
 incredible four- degree tilt that
 makes it seem as if the tower is
    about to topple over. The
  amazing slanted belltower sits
  behind Pisa Cathedral and was
  built in the Romanesque style.
