Some or Any Practice

We use some and any with both countable and uncountable nouns.
Generally we use any for questions and negatives, while some are used
for positives.

• Are there any eggs in the fridge?


• She doesn’t have any money at the moment.
• That shop doesn’t have any grapes

• I was hungry, so I ate some bread.


• Alex needs to buy some furniture for his new apartment.
• He asked me for some advice.

There are some exceptions; we use some for questions when you are
offering, requesting or suggesting.

• Can I have some pizza for dinner?


• Would you like some lemonade?
• Why don’t we order some delivery food later?
